CHAPTER 2 ( Part 1/2 )

This statement did not surprise Dujapsorn, because she had heard it since she was a child, including the notebook and hundreds of letters her mother wrote and then tore up. If she left them on the table or on the shelf, she would bring those letters and notebooks with her every time she took her mother to the psychiatrist. The psychiatrist only replied that it happened because the mood was so depressed that it became an obsession in people's thoughts.

The doctor prescribed medication and her mother's symptoms improved somewhat. Wilairampa was able to sleep without experiencing severe pain, because many times her symptoms became so severe that she had to be admitted to a psychiatric hospital for treatment. Luckily, Dujapsorn's aunt always helps. Every time her mother needed to go to the hospital, she always came to Dujapsorn's side, until Dujapsorn was old enough to take care of herself.

The doctor prescribed medicine and the symptoms subsided somewhat and Wilairampa was able to sleep, because there were times when the symptoms became so severe that Wilairampa had to be admitted to a psychiatric hospital for treatment. Luckily, her aunt always helps. Every time her mother needed to go to the hospital, her aunt would always come to her side, until Dujapsorn was old enough to take care of herself.

Dujapsorn knocked lightly on the door before turning the doorknob and entering. The inside of the room was not worth looking at because the grandfather lay motionless on the hospital bed with a button moving the head of the bed up and down. He can move and walk but mostly stays in bed. And right now, he is lying against a high pillow, looking at his daughter who is over 50 years old, looks not at all normal, her hair is messy, it is almost impossible to find beautiful lines or just lines of a noble family and the daughter of the owner of this ancient palace.

"Mom! Have you taken any medicine yet."

Wilairampa turned around, her eyes opening at the interruption.

"Fah, you don't understand me, you've never understood me. How painful, how embarrassed I must be to be chased out of there by the people of Jutathep palace like a dog and pigs. They destroyed my honor and dignity, leaving nothing behind, they forced me to humiliately flee..."

"...to the point of having to marry someone who doesn't have a noble lineage like dad, right?" Dujapsorn continued speaking with pain in her heart.

This must be one reason why Father Dujapsorn had a short life. At that time, Dujapsorn was still young so she didn't understand when adults argued. Both of their voices echoed throughout the house. Aunt Siriporn pulled Dujapsorn into the room, not allowing her to cause trouble with adults. Then they both heard Wilairampa scream. When they ran out, her father was lying on the floor. When he arrived at the hospital, he passed away, leaving Dujapsorn and his aunt heartbroken.

Meanwhile, Wilairampa still had mood swings and Dujapsorn had never seen a single tear from her mother, other than indignation when she learned that Dujapsorn's father got money from selling the land where the family used to live built a small resort in the valley in Mae-rim district and later lost money miserably, so the inheritance was divided into three parts. As soon as the lawyer finished reading the will, Wilairampa screamed hysterically when he didn't get everything he wanted.

"Right!" Wilairampa turned to answer, her eyes moving as if she couldn't control her mind. The doctor said it was useless to argue when Wilairanpa spirit was not like a normal person's, so she suppressed the pain in her heart. Then, Dujapsorn walked forward and bowed in the arms of Mom Ratchawong Taewapan, her grandfather.

"How is grandpa today?" She asked and acted like her mother wasn't in this room to change the subject.

The patient's lips parted, his wrinkled hand raised to gently stroke his hair.

"Similarly, with the disease of the elderly, we cannot know whether we will die today or live tomorrow. How's it going? Is there any good news from today's interview?

"Yes, Fah got the job." She replied.

"Congratulations, consider it the start of a new life. I wish you luck and favor from your superiors."

"Thank you, grandpa." She bent down and bowed on her host's arm once before muttering. "And Fah is sorry that mom made grandpa feel uneasy. Fah will take mom home to sleep, so that Fah can come back to visit tomorrow. But Fah don't dare let mom live alone with grandpa anymore. Don't blame mom."

Taewapan shook his head a bit before sighing.

"Rampa..." The wrinkled hand reached out to find his daughter, Wilairampa held his hand.

"I'm here, dad."

"I'm heartbroken... it's really heartbreaking that things turned out like this, it's my fault."

"No, dad is not wrong, Rampa is not wrong, but the ones who are wrong are Jutathep and the others for causing us to fall to this level."

Wilairampa acted like he wanted to go crazy again, Dujapsorn had to stop her.

"Grandpa, don't blame Mom. Since Dad passed away, Mom has had to deal with many illnesses, so her mental state has become even worse."

Taewapan's eyes turned red before slowly nodding.

"Please take care of Rampa. Grandpa is most worried about Rampa."

"Dad, you don't need to worry about Rampa." Wilairampa straightened up, looking extremely elegant like a noble princess. "Rampa can take care of herself and has always taken care of herself very well. Now it's time for Rampa to return to witness the tragedy of the Jutathep family."

Dujapsorn was thinking about the huge building her was interviewing in today, including the strong, cliff-like body of Major Mom Luang Asira Jutathep. She still couldn't imagine how she and her mother alone could shake this cliff.

"Isn't that right, Fah, my daughter? We must make Jutathep suffer like they did, like they did to me."

"Yes, Mom." She answered accordingly because there was no point in resisting. "If that's the case, let's go back. On the way back, Fah will stop by to buy the roast duck that mom likes to eat with us."

"Let's go, baby." Wilairampa smiled before bowing to his father. "Rampa will go home first, Dad. Rampa will come to visit again." Wilairampa was about to leave, before thinking and turning around.

"Dad, don't forget what Rampa said, don't tell Ket or anyone else that Rampa came here. Rampa doesn't want anyone to know that Rampa is in Bangkok, it's better if he wants Jutathep and the others to think that Rampa is dead." Her chin lifted, Dujapsorn had to remind her again.

"Otherwise, Rampa will not return to find dad for the rest of my life."

"Mom, don't say that, besides, we have nothing to do with Jutathep. They probably don't want anything to do with us either."

"But it will be relevant later, won't it Fah my daughter, you promised me."

Dujapsorn avoided eye contact, feeling heavy when pressed to answer.

"Let's go home, it's getting dark."

Wilairampa nodded reluctantly, turned away and walked out of the room. Dujapsorn bowed to Taewapan again.

"Fah will visit grandpa next time."

Taewapan smiled a little like old people in general are happy when their children and grandchildren visit. Dujapsorn quickly followed his mother down. Weo saw the landlady coming down and quickly asked.

"Is Mrs. Rampa going to eat here today? Let Weo prepare."

"No, we'll both go home and eat, Uncle Weo will take care of grandpa."

"Yes Miss Fah, omg... Mrs. Rampa is so lucky, to have a beautiful daughter taking care of her like this, Weo is so excited for Mrs. Rampa. If Mrs. Ket knew, she would be happy when her sister returned home."

Wilairampa turned to look at the old servant immediately. Weo was still here because her followed Ketsara's orders to stay and take care of Mom Ratchawong Taewapan. She had a niece who was a nurse's assistant who also came to help take care of the boss. This big palace with only three people, looked very lonely and quiet. When someone came to visit, she was very happy, but when she saw Wilairampa's eyes, the smile immediately disappeared from her face.

Dujapsorn clearly understood his mother's feelings and quickly spoke up for her.

"My mother doesn't want anyone to know about the two of us going back to Bangkok, Uncle Weo, please don't tell Mr. Ketsara about this."

"What's wrong? Mrs. Ket will definitely be happy to know Mrs. Rampa is back, she will take care of all the girls."

"That's not true, Ket only cares about herself and has never loved her sister." Wilairampa raised her voice, Dujapsorn immediately signaled Weo to stop before speaking.

"We'll talk about it ourselves, please Mr. Weo." She raised her hand in greeting. "Because Fah and mom are not ready right now."

"Okay, Miss Fah, I will not say anymore."

"Thank you very much, Uncle Weo." The little girl raised her hand and bowed again before helping her mother sit in the chair and then took out a small comb from her bag to comb her mother's hair.

"Let Fah comb mom's hair first, tie it neatly, mom will look her best when she goes out."

Wiairampa smiled, sitting still while her daughter combed her hair into place and tied a beautiful braid around her head before taking her hand and leaving the house. Weo followed them out the door, waited until the two women got back in the taxi, then closed the door and shook her head.

"Mrs. Rampa, Mrs. Rampa... why did it turn out like this..."
