Chapter 6: Terror of the Terra-fermians
Huey, Dewey, Louie, Joey, Webby, accompanied by Launchpad and Mrs. Beakley, go to see a horror movie on Lena's recommendation. The group's reactions are mixed. "Oh man, that is classic cinema." Dewey said in excitement. As the group exited the theater Joey made a notion to keep an eye an a certain pink haired duckling something was fishy about her.
"So good." Webby agreed.
" oh, and remember when the surgeon tried to cut the mole-woman in half," Lena explained. " and she multiplied into a million babies and ate him?" She then moved over to Webby to pretend to bite Webby. "Roar!!"
Joey rolled his eyes at the scene, still not to sure about this girl, something about her rubbed him the wrong way but decided to keep his suspicion low key.
"Roar!" Webby roared back as Lena jumped back acting scared.
However, Mrs. Beakley wasn't having any of it. It seemed like she didn't quite enjoy the film at all. "You said this was an educational film," Beakley said pulling Lena aside accusingly. " Suitable for all ages."
To which Lena responds with a casual shrug and says. " it's a cautionary tale of the dangers of mole monsters," she explains. Or tries to. " everyone could use a lesson in chainsaw safety."
"Yeah, and the message or be careful who you trust." Joey subtly (or not so subtly) jabbed at Lena. " you never know when they'll strike."
"Funny thing is that the loud mouth died first in the movie." Lena fired back as they glared at each other. Which, got Webby nervous.
"Eww. Are THEY gonna kiss?" Louie said in disgust.
"Shut up!"
Louie then decided to change the subject back to the movie. "Aaaannyaways!! I thought The movie was lame." He said. " Where was the drama, the heart, the expensive looking car chase near the end?"
"And even if mole-men did exist," Huey chimed in. " why attack someone in the shower?" Completely forgetting the point of a horror movie. " with the running water there wouldn't be enough traction to attack someone above the knee, totally phony."
Joey then gave his brother a weird look about this subject. " ummm...it's kind of disturbing that you would know that, bro." Joey then took a nervous step away from him in concern.
"What is with you guys?" Webby questioned. " it says on the poster. Based on an actual true novel." She then points at the corner of the poster that reads that very statement.
Joey put a hand on Webby's shoulder. " Webby? I'm pretty sure that was a ploy to get people to come." Although, Webby simply just waved it off. Until Huey stepped in and of course pulls out his woodchuck guidebook that he always carries everywhere. " Guys, this is the only book I trust."
"Ohh Phooey." Joey sighed shaking his head. Knowing Huey all too well. "here we go again...ugh." Huey then gave his brother a 'shut up' look.
"Anyways, if it's not in the Junior Woodchuck Guidebook,it's not a thing."
Joey rolled his eyes at this while Webby gives him an exasperated look. " What about the Ware-Ducks?" She asks.
"Nope." Huey said with a nod.
"Trifoxis?" Webby tries again.
"Not a thing." Huey insists.
Joey then chimed in and snarks. "What about Peghook, The Headless Manhorse, The Flying sword, Golden Dragon and The Lost City of Atlantis? I can continue if you'd like." Lena gave him a look of agreement for once.
But, Huey had a counter argument prepared already. " Already added it. You should know by now." Cue face palm from Joey.
"What about Terra-fermions?" Webby asked Huey. Who flips through his book to check. " Let's see, pterodactyl? Terror-dactyl? Terrible twos?" Huey shuts the book and says. " No Terra-Fermions. Must not exist."
Joey sighed not believing what he was about to say. " yeah, unfortunately the nerds right." Huey looked at Joey gratefully for the..complement then a look as if to say 'wait a minute'.
" Haha, what?" Webby said with shock. " Terra-firmians, the mythical underground race that live below our very city?"
Joey kind of admitted to himself that would actually be kind of cool if it were true.
"No, that's ridiculous." Huey argues.
"No, you're ridiculous!" Webby argued back.
Joey found this arguments to entertaining, that is until Lena steppes in with an idea. "Children, children, there's an easy way to settle this." She gives them a mischievous look that Joey knew all to well, like one he or Louie would give. " Let's go find them ourselves."
"Oh because the last idea you had definitely didn't almost get us all killed by the Beagle Boys." Joey quipped sarcastically.
"What? You scared?" Lena taunted, which made Joey red in the face. "No...I'm...not." He hissed.
Lena smirked at him. "Then you wouldn't mind tagging along then. Now would you."
Joey then narrows his eyes, ready to show her and keep a watchful eye at the same time. "Ugh..Fine, fine. I'm in." He walked over and joined the three with crossed arms.
"Ahem!" Beakley fake coughed to get Launchpad's attention.
Which caused him to panic as he looked at the poster for the movie and freaked out. "Ahhh! Evil. Evil." Launchpad then started taring up the poster frantically. " You took the form of a poster, you won't get Launchpad!" He continues to tear into the poster.
"Okay," Joey spoke up. "Can we all agree that this is the last time we take Launchpad to a horror movie?"
Dewey ran over to Launchpad to calm him down distracting Beakley and Louie as well. "Stop. Launchpad. No!"
"It's just an add!" Beakley said in contribute.
All the while, Webby, Huey, Lena and reluctantly Joey took advantage of the situation and snuck down into the underground subway station. "That's what the Sheriff told those reckless teens!" Launchpad said hysterically.
- cue opening theme-
Huey then stopped and spoke just about the same thing Joey was thinking. "Shouldn't we tell someone where we are going before we blindly explore a network of dark and abandoned subway tunnels?"
"Exactly!" Joey said in agreement. The girls open their mouths to protest but Joey stopped them. "dup-bup-bup, and as always, let me be the voice of reason." The rest rolled their eyes at this. " For all we know we may not comeback out alive."
"Cool." Webby said with her eyes widened in excitement. "Alright. Fine." She said with sigh as Lena rubbed her fingers between her eyes.
They all turn up top to say quietly. " we're heading. Down." "We'll be fine." "Don't wait up."
"Great job, guys." Joey said with a sarcastic okay hand signal. "It's okay, I'm actually cool with it." Huey followed the girls out. Joey then turned around, noticed he was left behind and called. "Hey! Wait for me!" As he followed the rest out and picked up the pace.
———————————————————————————
Meanwhile, Beakley was busy apologizing for Launchpad's weird behavior.
"Oh, and what about the damages to the men's room?" The manager of the theater asked.
"The men's room?" Mrs. Beakley questioned.
"They come from the toilets!" Launchpad panicked. "Anybody can be a mole monster. Anyone." He points at the manger. " it could be him." Pointed at a baby in a stroller. " or that baby." And even Dewey. "And even... him." Dewey then looks at Launchpad confused.
"Alright," Beakley suggested. " let's go before something else happens." She then noticed something was missing. "Wait? Where's Huey, Webby, Joey, and...Lena?" She added suspiciously.
———————————————————————————
"Huh, I wonder what's behind here?" Lena asked.
Joey never been in the subway before, believe it or not. He nor his brothers never had a need to go down there. And He was glad He chose that. It was disgusting, with graffiti and garbage and... weird miscellaneous fluid stains in the corners. "Eugh, this is disgusting." Joey kicked a soda can away from him, crossing his arms. "Doesn't anyone clean up down here?"
Lena rolled her eyes, and hopped down off the platform once a subway train came by. Taking the lead, she headed off down the tunnel, and they followed after her. Stepping through-or in Huey's case, over-a puddle, the kids came to a crossroads. The left tunnel was obviously where the train went, but on the right was a blocked path. A sign saying it was closed for renovations mounted on three orange and white boards.
""The old 818 train line," Webby answered. "Famous for Terra-firmian sightings. That's why it's closed off."
"The sign says closed for renovations." Huey corrected.
"That's what they want you to think," Webby grinned. She headed after Lena, leaving the confused boy and Joey shaking his head like "oh, brother."
"Who is they?" Huey asked.
"Exactly." Huey and Joey exchanged a look as the girls continued pushing at the sign. Once Webby began helping though, the ground began to rumble at our feet. With a startled cry, Joey moved over to them with his brother, and they try steady ourselves as dust and rocks fell away over our heads.
Coughing at the particles in the air, Joey watched Lena pull out her phone to shine it into a newly made opening. "Well, we can't not go in at this point. Hello!?" She called, letting her voice echo around the walls. "Of course, SHE wants to continue." Joey remarked as he followed after her. The older child paused at the top of a flight of stairs, shining her phone down to see if there was anything worth checking. Joey stopped behind her.
"But one day the rightful prince will reunite the two tribes and put an end to their bitter conflict," Webby concluded as she and Huey caught up.
"And what's that?" Huey pointed at a random doodle in the upper corner of her book, making her chuckle awkwardly.
"Oh, just a drawing of a candy I wish they made. Webbi-dings." Webby explained to them.
"Nice!" Joey complemented.
"And that?" Lena pointed at the doodle beside that.
"Me as a superhero." Ah, such an active imagination this girl had. "Look, can we just focus on all the exciting stuff I just said?"
"Right, right, fooooocus." Joey said. As he continued listening.
"So these Terra-thingies are responsible for that tremor?" Lena asked. Huey shook his head, taking his book out from under his hat again. "Oh great, more nerd stuff." Joey quipped.
"Hey, this isn't nerd stuff." Huey said defensively.
"Uh huh?" Joey said.
"According to the JWG, earthquakes are shifting tectonic plates. Science fact." He snapped it shut, standing proudly at his sound argument. "No reason for any of us to go in there. The book knows everything."
Lena raised a brow, and snatched the book from the boy. Huey gasped as she chucked it down the stairs, and we watched it bounce out of our sights. "Did the book now I was gonna do that?"
"Okay, I'll admit that was a good one." Joey said.
"Did you see how it flew?"
"Oh, I can't wait to meet a real Terra-firmian! I'm totally gonna sacrifice myself in the name of the rebellion." Webby said excitedly. "Webby, no offense but, you scare me sometimes." Joey said.
"Oh, and then I can hunt down your attackers and avenge your death!" Lena added.
"Sure you would." Joey remarked.
"Hey? What's you problem?!" Lena finally spoke up.
"Oh, other than acting all suss?" Joey argued.
"You don't know anything about me!" She argued back.
"Guys! Guys!" Webby stopped them. " I don't want my two friends to fight. Please try and get along."
Heading down to the next floor and ducking under a blockade, we examined the new area. A rat ran past us squeaking, but that was the only sign of life down this far. "Get lost!" Joey kicked it away from him.
Those were some pretty huge claw marks. "Claw marks! Proof they were here!"
"Even better! The tremors exposed three kinds of rock," Huey cheered. "Schist, marble, and gneiss. Ooh, do I spy some shale?" He knelt down and began examining the rock while checking his guide book for reference.
"How is that better than subway monsters?" Lena crossed her arms with a frown.
"'cause my thing's real."
"How can you dismiss this after all the stuff we've seen Scrooge?" Joey asked incredulously. "Dragons that hunt gold, Atlantis, the man-horse... thing? Ring any bells?"
"Anything new we've seen I've added myself," he replied. "Now help me with the shale rock. Need it for my geology badge." Joey rolled his eyes in annoyance.
"Why don't you ask your best friend, the guidebook, to help you?" Webby asked sarcastically. "Oh, wait, you can't. It's a book." In response, Huey flipped through it before stopping with a smile.
"Hmph, great more amazing facts from Professor Hubert." Joey snarked sarcastically.
Huey rolled his eyes at him.
"How to properly handle rock samples in the field." He tucked it under his hat, and began giving himself a wide stance. Bending down, he slowly lifted the rock up, barely able to hold it in his arms. "Ha! Nice try noodle arms."
"Shut up."
"Aahhhh!" A scream came from further down the hall, and Huey dropped the stone immediately. "Lena! Where'd she go!?" Joey said to himself as he went to look for her.
"The yellow loud mouth seems to be on to you," Magica said to Lena. Appearing behind her. "Do something to gain his trust."
"Psst, yellow." Lena said getting Joey's attention. "Instead of sitting here silently hating each other how about we have some real fun?" She asked, while Joey raised an eyebrow "what kind of fun?"
Webby traced her hand over an odd circular indent in the metal. A banging sound came from inside the cart, and they moved back cautiously.
"What was that?" Huey asked. The door jiggled in place, and slowly moved to the side, sending several clouds of dust raining down.
"Clear." Webby then climbed up beside me, and as Huey began hoisting himself up, Webby gave a loud scream.
"Terra-firmian! A Booga Booga!" Lena and Joey yelled out at the same time. Huey and Webby both fell forwards at the surprise, . A cackle came from behind them, and Lena poked her head over a wall by a seat, holding a marker in her hand while Joey poked his head out the other side laughing as well. "You should've seen the look on your faces!" Joey said wheezing.
"Sorry, couldn't resist." Lena said. "Not so bad, Yellow boy." She said to the yellow clad duck. Huey glared at her as he got up, while Webby gave them both a high five. Huey looked around, and turned back with a smile.
"Just more subway junk. Now, if you're all done, I have some rock samples to collect." Joey groaned. "Have fun." He said sarcastically.
A large boom came from behind the kids and they turned to see a wall was kicked down and a towering figure staring back. Whoever they were, it was hard to tell. The shadows masked all determinable features. Huey quickly snatched up a rock beside him and hurled it. However, the figure moved out of the way, having it bounce against the wall and towards the entrance they made.
"Hey, watch it!" A familiar voice said "What the-Louie?" Joey said to the figure.
From out of the shadows, Mrs. Beakley, the other two quadruplets, and Launchpad stared at us. And, oh, boy, did the housekeeper ever look mad. "Oh...ha-ha hi Mrs. B...." Joey said as he chuckled nervously.
"Granny?" Webby asked.
"Aah! Those are moles!" Launchpad, ever our 'brave' hero, dove behind the wall, shaking. "Actually we're ducks." Joey said.
"You won't fool me, Mole Monster!"
Joey sighed shaking his head.
"Launchpad, it's just the guys," Dewey reminded him patiently. Launchpad murmured a reply, "But were there always four of them?"
"I can explain," Webby began as we all walked over to them.
"You are all in big trouble. I assume this was your idea." She directed that part towards Lena, as the girl narrowed her eyes. "For the record I advised them against...." Beakley looked at Joey sternly. "Never mind."
"Sure, blame the mysterious rebel playing by her own rules," she scoffed. Oh, this was getting interesting, Joey thought.
"No back talk!" Mrs. Beakley snapped. "Because of you, I had to come all the way down here and drag two more children and one man-child right into danger!"
"Man-child!? Where!?" Launchpad sprung to his feet, looking around with a shudder. "Easy, LP. Easy. One monster at a time."
"Aren't you supposed to be crazy adventure family? This is like an afternoon field trip for you people," Lena remarked.
"Well, there won't be anymore afternoon field trips for you. I can assure you that." Beakley said. Did this mean she was on Joey's side here? Sweet! Joey thought.
"Granny, Lena didn't mean to-ah!" Webby gave a startled cry along with the rest of us as the ground began to shake under our feet, tossing the car on its sides. "Terra-firmians!"
"Naturally occurring tectonic shifts!" "Huey, I will personally hit you on the head with that book you love so much if you don't shut up!" Joey said.
A series of loud bangs came from behind the kids, and as the rumbling quieted down, Mrs. Beakley leaned out of the vehicle to investigate.
"Splendid. We're stuck," she sighed. "It looks like the only safe way out of here is to get this train moving. Launchpad, get to the control room."
"No, Mrs. B.," Launchpad replied with a shake of his head. "I can't leave you alone with-I mean, uh, I don't know if I can." He looked at the Quadruplets suspiciously. "I've never crashed a train before."
"Well perhaps you could drive it without crashing it?" Joey suggested, stressing the word.
"Huh?" Mrs. Beakley sighed, clearly seeing the chauffeur wasn't going to get our point anytime soon.
"Just get to the control room and see what you can do," she sighed, rubbing the bridge of her beak.
"Fine," Launchpad relented. "Hey, Dewey, come with me. I need someone to help me for some reason." He guided the blue triplet out of the cart, and Joey could've sworn he saw him pick up something off the floor as he went. "Welp, I think we'll be seeing the last of Dewey." Joey quipped.
"I'm going to the rear to see if I can detach us from the cave in. You, with me." Lena frowned as the housekeeper singled her out. "You've caused us enough grief." Then looked to Joey and pulled him aside. "I think you're right about her. Which means we should both keep an eye on her." She told him as he gave her a salute.
"Aye aye, Colonel Crumpet," Lena mocked, giving a salute. "And Deputy Big Mouth."
"We'll stay here and be on the lookout for Terra-firmians. It must be about halftime at The Great Games, so it'll be easier to spot one." Her granny gave her a confused look, but shrugged it off. If it wasn't harming their efforts to get out, then it was okay.
Lena followed after me, and Mrs. Beakley took up the rear. "After you help us get out of here, you're never seeing Webby again." Now, Joey kind of found that one a little harsh.
"Ugh, okay, lady, you are real bad at asking for help," Lena said as Mrs. Beakley walked ahead of Lena and Joey. Once she went around the corner, they slowly made way to join her.
"Look, I think you and I got off on the wrong foot." Lena spoke up to Joey. " and I think once we get to know each other. You'll see I'm not so bad." Joey stopped to think a moment as, maybe he judged her a bit too early on, maybe he should give her a chance.
"Looking good, Tea Time. Keep it up." She took out her phone, clicking away at it as we could hear Huey, Webby, and Louie chat further down the tracks.
"This would go a lot faster if you would give me a hand."
"Well, the sooner I help you, the sooner I never get to see my friends again, so..." Mrs Beakley turned back to the spike, and Lena's eyes widened as another remark came to her mind. "Want me to go get one of the more trustworthy kids to help, or am I still not allowed to talk to them? I mean you got Joey here, but if you ask me he's kind of rubbing off on me."
"Do not mouth off to me," the elder woman finally snapped, standing up. "It's your fault we're in this mess. Who raised you, anyway? I know a bad influence when I see one." "Hey! Woah hold up now Mrs. B... don't you think you're a little...." Joey said. He wasn't too fond of Lena, but that was entirely uncalled for. Lena's face turned into one of regret and hurt, avoiding the speaker's eyes. "Those are good children with bright futures." Joey noticed A creepy shadow came behind Beakley but disappeared, so he just sort of dismissed it.
"Yeah? And what does that make me?" She finally turned around, stuffing her phone in her skirt. The tension was thick in the air, and Mrs. Beakley looked away, clearly not wanting to answer.
"I don't know." Seeing the conversation as over, she turned back to the spike, and began kicking it. Lena rolled her eyes, and walked away for a moment. Seizing the few seconds, Joey glared at Mrs. Beakley, who only raised a brow at me. "Come on, that's enough." He couldn't say anything right now, least Lena heard it. Lena looked at him in shock that he was actually taking HER side. "She's just a kid, Beakley. Give her a break."
"If you're gonna vandalize, at least do it right." "Oh hey, I got just the thing." Joey said as he pulled a crowbar? Out of his hat. "Wait? How did you..you know what never mind."
Joey put crowbar in her hands, and with a twirl she stuck it under the top. Mrs. Beakley went to the other side, grabbing the upper part of the pole, and helped her loosen the spike. With a few tugs, the metal piece flew up and onto the ground a few feet away.
"I suppose you're good for something." Beakley said. "What do you know? Guess Mrs. Beakley can say something nice today!" Joey remarked which received a glare.
"Ugh, don't hurt yourself with the compliments, Abbey Road. I'm just trying to help," Lena replied, hopping up to the door above her.
"All right, I've had it up to here with your horrid behavior! And which side are you on Joey?" The moment she said the words, the lights came on in the front of the train, and moved on to the very cart Lena was in.
The girl gasped for a moment, looking at Mrs. Beakley and Joey. The girl shuffled to the side, getting out of the light while still staring at the wall. Magica's shadow appeared behind Beakley and Joey.
Joey turned around, but saw nothing, like expected. What was up with that? What spooked the girl? Then the boy just shrugged it off.
The train's wheels creaked on the tracks, and slowly began to roll forward, knocking Lena off. Joey caught her before she hit the ground, arms preventing her from hitting her head as Mrs. Beakley began to jog ahead of us. "Come on!" Mrs. Beakley reached the cart first, keeping one hand on a handrail and another outreached for us. Panting, we ran to grab her, and were pulled up onto the cart just as-the heck!?
Several boulders were speeding ahead, chasing the front of the subway. As fast as it happened, we could hear the loud and terrified screaming of the children, just as the cart began to sway back and forth, barely keeping itself on the tracks. Lena was almost thrown off again, until Joey wrapped an arm around her to keep her on. Mrs. Beakley held both handrails, keeping us pressed against the closed door, until a large swing knocked us off, sending us flying through the tunnel.
Beakley landed on the ground unconscious while Joey tumbled across the floor, and the train landed on him trapping him as he squirmed underneath it to try and get out but was stuck.
——————————————————————————-
"cough, cough, woo, crashed it." Launchpad said but looked and saw Dewey. "Back foul monster you can't take me too, Mr McD won't give me the time off." Launchpad swatted at him.
"Launchpad, it's me, Dewey. Your best friend?" Dewey said to try and talk some since into him.
"They could be anyone." Launchpad said. "They could be anywhere."
"Yes, anyone can be a mole monster in the movie." Dewey said. "This is real life."
"Classic mole monster, saying he's not a mole monster!" Launchpad said as he continued to swat at Dewey.
"Then by that logic, how do you know you're not a mole monster?" Dewey asked. If he wasn't going to listen to real logic maybe movie logic will work.
"Cause I'm not, which is exactly what a mole monster would say. Wait, am I a mole monster? But I'm a good guy. but that means, mole monsters can also be good guys." Launchpad puzzled. Then grabbed Dewey real tightly. " Come Mole brother, this is a new day for our people. We will show the world we can be good!" Dewey groaned at this.
———————————————————————————
"Leave them," Magica hissed. " neither of them will ever trust you. She is keeping you from them and he has been suspicious of you from the start. Leave them both and your better off."
Despite this, Lena on the other hand decided on something else as she pulled out her talisman and made it glow purple, Lena then directed it at the train that was on top of Joey and lifted it with her magic, the yellow clad duck was unconscious at the time so he didn't see what was happening, so her secret was safe. She then reached over and grabbed Joey's hand and pulled him out of the way as the train fell down behind him, Beakley saw Lena save Joey but not the magic.
Joey opened his eyes and surprised to see that Lena had just saved him. "You...." he began to say.
"Yes, me now let's go." Lena told him as She, Joey, and Beakley got out. "Everyone here? Everyone okay?" Lena said.
"Oh yeah! We are A-okay!" Launchpad answered.
"Just a couple of non-mole monsters eager to help out."
Joey looked at them confused. "Don't ask." Dewey said.
The menacing looking rocks then came into view revealing themselves as...not so threatening and they had the colors of Red, Pink, Green,Grey,Purple,Blue,Orange, and Yellow.
"Are...you guys seeing this?" Joey whispered to the others.
"I told you they were real." Webby said.
"He must be the prince and the others are his rebel force." Huey said.
On the other side, Yellow whispered to the other Terra-firmians. "Are....you guys seeing this?"
"This must be the prince of the bill-faced creatures of the land above and the others are his rebel force." Red said.
"I told you they were real." Pink told him. Wow, who let the Deja Vus in here? Joey thought.
Huey and the red one then walked up to each other. "Huey!" Beakley called you him.
They both then touched fingers and said. "Boop." At the same time then walked back where they were.
"Well...that just happened." Joey said awkwardly.
"We still need to find a way out." Beakley said.
The Terra-Fermions then rolled up to the wall and smashed into it. Creating an exit.
"Thank you fellow underground dwellers!" Launchpad thanked.
Huey went up to Webby and said. "I'm sorry I doubted you."
"I'm proud of you, Huey." Webby told him. " facing your fears, embracing the unknown."
Huey then wrote something down in his notebook. " Annd logged it! no longer unknown. They exist, science fact. Ah, that feels so much better." Huey said confidently.
"Uhh." Webby groaned as Joey put a hand on her shoulder. "Yeeeeahhh... it's just best to just let him have this moment."
As they all exited Launchpad stopped for a moment and said. "I could get used to living down here. I Love Being a Mole Monster!" He cheered.
"Launchpad, you are not a mole monster." Beakley told him.
"Oh well that makes since." Launchpad said. Really that's all it took? Joey thought.
As everyone left Lena was the last person out when Magica appeared to her. "Why didn't you leave the purple and the yellow one? They are getting in the way of our plans."
Beakley stops at the exit and turns to Lena. " Lena, listen dear. I may have been a bit quick to judge you. Would you like to join us in the mansion for pancakes?" She offers.
"Now when you say pancakes," Lena said. " do you mean actual pancakes or English muffins smothered in syrup?" She asked.
"Actual pancakes." Beakley answered.
"Then yes."
"And you are welcome to the mansion anytime you like." She told her as she left.
"Oh well," Magica said. "There is still that mouthy yellow brat...." as she said then Joey walked over.
"Lena?" Joey said getting her attention, as he rubbed his arm. "I...just first want to start out by saying...thank you." Joey told her. "You're right we did start off on the wrong foot and...I'm sorry for that." Joey continued. " I just wanted you to know that from now on you have my trust."
Lena smiled at him. "Thanks and don't mention it....seriously...don't."
Joey then said. "Dooooees this mean we have to be...ya know, Nice to each other now?" He asked.
They looked at each other then said. "Nah!" At the same time playfully though.
Joey then walked away.
"That's why. Gotta play the long game." Lena said with a grin.
