Camping- Beginning

"Come on you two!" Huey called out. "Follow me, down this path." The red triplet pointed down a path that he knew led down to a small stream.

"Hey Hue, why are we even here?" Dewey asked, jumping from one root of a tree to another.

"I thought it would be nice to go camping, just the three of us." He explained.

"Ugh, why though? This is so lame." Louie whined, having stayed behind a bit, looking down at the dirt floor.

"Come on Louie, it'll be fun." Dewey picked up a stick and pointing it at his brother, but dropped it when he saw a bug on it.

"Keep up you two. I don't want you getting lost." Huey looked back at them.

"We won't get lost Huey. Plus, we're not even that far away from the, mansion, right?" Dewey looked around him. Trees surrounded the triplets, the sounds from the forest all around. "Huh, I guess we kind of wandered off too far."

"It's fine." Huey claimed. "I think."

"If we get lost I'm blaming you, especially since you took our phones and forced us to leave them at home." Louie crossed his arms, finally having caught up with his brothers.

"Uh huh, that's nice Lou." Huey looked around, not having heard what his youngest brother said.

"Are you even listening to me? Hello? Hubert!"

"I think we need to go this way and set up camp." The eldest triplet pointed in one direction.

"Ugh, fine." Louie muttered. "Be like that."

"You think?" The middle triplet asked. "Well, I think we should keep going down this path." He pointed down to where the stream started.

"There's poison oak down there Dewey, trust me, it hurts. And there's a bit of the stream this way too." He explained.

"Fine, let's just keep going so we can set up camp. Then we can go explore the forest a bit more." Dewey smiled and ran ahead of Huey, turning back to look at them. "Come on, keep up." He teased. Huey shook his head and laughed softly.

"Be careful Dewey." He said, still laughing a bit. "Come on Lou!" Huey called out, running ahead to catch up with Dewey.

"Slow down! I don't want to run!" The green triplet whined. "Just let me go home Huey, please!"

"Oh come on Louie, don't be so whiny, let's go." Dewey ran back to his younger brother and grabbed his hand, dragging him behind him.

"Nooo! I don't want to!"

"Lou, don't be such a cry baby. Hurry, up." Dewey, almost litterally, dragged Louie to where Huey had stopped. The red triplet had stopped in a small opening with a dirt floor and small patches of grass scattered across. A small part of the stream flowed through that part of the forest, beside where they were going to set up camp.

"Ooh, this place is nice." Dewey claimed, looking up and around him.

"Sure is, just stay out of that part of the woods. It gets dark and you can get lost." Huey warned, pointing to a part of the forest where the trees got thicker.

"I won't get lost." Dewey claimed. "I am the amazing adventurer Dewford Duck, and nothing can stand in my way!" He said with a laugh at the end.

"Yeah, nothing except an older brother. Now stay here and help me set up the tent." The oldest Duck brother set down his back pack and opened it. Dewey looked back and forth from Huey to the dark part of the forest. He slowly inched towards the dark area, sliding across the dirt, his hands behind his back. "Don't even think about it Dewford." Huey scolded softly, taking out the folded up tent.

"Awe man." Dewey muttered, walking back to where his older brother was. "What do you need help with?" He asked in an annoyed tone, his arms crossing across his chest.

"Help me set up the tent." The eldest triplet instructed. "And Louie, look for some wood that we can use later for our fire."

"No thanks, I'm good." The green triplet stated. He was leaning back against a tree, looking up at the branches.

"Louie, you need to help, or you'll be in charge of cooking all the food later." Huey took out the instructions for the tent as he spoke.

"I'll take option C, neither."  Louie replied.

"Well if he's not helping then neither am I." Dewey turned his head away from his older brother, his arms crossed and his eyes closed as he looked up slightly.

"Ugh! Don't be so stubborn. It's not like it'll kill you to help out." Huey exclaimed.

"What's in it for us?" They younger triplets asked in unison. The red triplet thought for a moment.

"You can, do whatever you want once we get back home?" He suggested.

"Hm, I don't know Hubert." Louie stood up walking towards his brother. " I've been saving up to buy a new phone, and I'm missing thirty dollars. If you could, oh I don't know, pitch in. I might just consider helping today." Huey released an exasperated sigh.

"I can't believe I'm doing this." He muttered. "Fine, you can have your stinkin' thirty dollars, just go look for that wood I asked for earlier." The middle triplet cleared his throat.

"And, what about me?" He asked.

"You, can, um-" Huey looked around with his eyes as he thought. "If you help, I'll, buy you ice cream every day for a month?" He shrugged his shoulders, hoping that the offer was good enough to get his brother to help.

"Deal." Dewey hugged his older brother before standing back. "I was gonna help you either way, I just wanted to see what you'd offer. No backing down by the way." The oldest triplet shook his head and laughed softly.

"Okay Dewey, now can you help me pitch the tent?" He asked hopefully. Dewey nodded and began helping his older brother assemble the tent. Meanwhile, Louie collected small twigs for the fire that they would cook their food on.

"Ew, this is so gross." He muttered, brushing off a bit of dirt from his hoodie sleeve. He took what he had back to where his brothers, dropping it in front of them. "Welp, I'm done, and if you don't mind, I'll be over here." Louie pointed to the same tree he was lying at earlier.

"Okay Lou, thanks." Huey said with a smile as he finished the last bit of the tent.

"Did we only bring one tent?" Dewey asked, to which Huey nodded as his answer. "This one seems a bit, small. Do you think we'll fit?"

"I don't mind sleeping outside if we don't." The eldest triplet stated.

"I call the tent regardless of what you two say." Louie claimed, his eyes closed but having heard the conversation.

"Even if you didn't help put it up?" Huey asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Yep."

"Then, I guess you won't be getting dinner tonight." The oldest triplet bent down and picked up the sticks that Louie had gathered, resulting in him sitting up abruptly.

"What? But that's not fair! I gathered those sticks by myself." He exclaimed.

"Yeah, and Dewey and I pitched the tent." Huey explained. "And you claiming it for yourself is like us claiming the sticks to cook our dinner." Louie sighed.

"Fine, we can share the tent."

"It's okay Lou, you can have it to yourself. I like sleeping outside." Dewey claimed. Louie looked at his brothers.

"This isn't some sort of prank is it?" The youngest triplet asked.

"No no no. Of course not baby brother." Dewey answered. "I have something else planned." He muttered. Huey turned away from his brothers, facing the stream.

"And I have something planned for the both of you."
