Aquaphobia- Tears

Dewey and Huey immediately tackled Louie into a hug, the youngest duckling in shock, his eyes brimmed with tears, but he didn't know what to do, should he cry or should he not? Louie let the tears fall, and along with those tears came loud sobs. Everyone around the triplets gaped at how Louie was openly showing his emotions. Huey and Dewey held their little brother close as Louie cried into their shoulders and gripped their arms tightly.

"Sh sh sh, I-it's okay Llewellyn, it's okay." Huey stroked Louie's back comfortingly.

"You're safe now Lou, you're okay." Dewey held his brother closer than he ever thought he would.

"I think it's time to go home." Scrooge entailed. Donald nodded in agreement. Webby walked up quietly behind the triplets.

"A-are you guys okay?" She asked. The triplets looked at each other.

"Come here." The three of them hugged their best friend. Webby smiled and hugged them back.

"Webby, boys, hurry along now." Mrs. Beakly called.

"Coming Granny." Webby answered. Louie began walking before stopping mid way in his tracks.

"Louie? Are you okay?" Huey asked.

"Y-yeah, I'm fine." Louie looked back at the ocean and remembered the harshness of the waves, the feeling of salt water going into his eyes and lungs. He held his chest tightly as he remembered how it felt being tossed around like he was nothing, he remembered the darkness, the loneliness, the fear, the fear that he would never see the ones he loved ever again. He felt the car suddenly stop, the motion felt like the waves during the storm. Louie suddenly screamed startling everyone in the car. He looked around frantically while his breathing got heavy.

"What's happening?" Webby asked.

"Is he okay?" Dewey added.

"Sh, nobody say anything. I can handle this." Huey took control of the situation. Louie's heart raced as he began hyperventilating, his body beginning to sweat. "Louie, Louie, it's okay, breath. Breath." Louie did as told and took deep shaky breaths. "Good job, just keep breathing, don't think about anything, clear your mind. Close your eyes. You're doing great." Louie did as told once again. "Great job, just breath, control your thoughts. You can get through this." Not to long after, Louie dozed off for the rest of the ride home.

"What was happening? Was he okay?" Donald asked.

"He's okay. He was just having a panic attack." Huey explained.

"How did you know what to do?" Dewey asked.

"The JWG has a whole chapter on anxiety and stress disorders."

"Wow, that's so cool." Webby exclaimed.

"Yeah, we just have to be careful with him right now. He's very fragile." Huey explained to everyone. When they got home, Dewey woke Louie up gently and got him upstairs.

"Okay, there we go." Dewey stated as he sat Louie on his bed. "I'll be back in a bit."

"Where are you going?"

"I'm gonna take a shower."

"A sh-shower? With water?"

"Yeah, that's how you take showers Lou." Dewey stated.

"Okay."

"I'll be back in a bit, then it's your turn."

"MY TURN!?" Louie's eyes widened. "NO NO NO! THE WATER'S GONNA TAKE ME UNDER AGAIN!" He yelled.

"What's going on in here?" Huey ran into the room.

"No no no no no no no no....." Louie repeated.

"Louie's having another panic attack!"

"What did you say to him!?"

"I just told him that I was gonna take a shower and that he would go after me." Dewey explained.

"Dewey! He's had a hard day with you know what, don't mention that word."

"What word? Water?"

"NOT THE WATER! THE WAVES! THE SPLASHING! THE SPINGING!"

"Louie, breath. Clear your mind it's okay." Louie took deep breaths once again. "I think you should leave Dewey."

"But-"

"No buts Dewford."

"B-But-"

"I said no buts Dewey! Now leave, before you make things worse." Dewey walked out the door, his heart ached, he didn't mean to, he didn't want to hurt his brother. The words echoed in his head....'before you make things worse....' Dewey teared up and ran to the bathroom, taking that shower that he was going to take earlier. Louie had calmed down and was fast asleep once again. Huey was online searching for reasons as to why Louie had these sudden panic attacks.

"'Panic attacks are a cause of stress, anxiety, and fear of death.' Death? Hm." Huey continued reading. "'One may feel vulnerable at a thought of death and their anxiety levels will suddenly increase.'" Huey then pulled up a list of phobias. "Ablutophobia, Aquaphobia, Necrophobia, Thalassaphobia, Thanatophobia...." The list continued. "Well, Louie was in the ocean today and almost drowned, so all of these seem reasonable, but Ablutophobia and Thalassaphobia are two things that Louie showed, which can't be right. If Abluto is fear of bathing and Thalassa is the ocean, then they can't be connected. That leaves Aqua, Necro and Thanato. Necro is the fear of death, but Thanato is fear of dying, hm...." That stumped Huey for a bit. "But what does that have to do with water? That only leaves, Aquaphobia." He concluded. "But if Louie is aquaphobic, then, how will he stay hydrated or hygienic?" Dewey walked back into the room, already changed.

"Dewey, guess what? I found out why Louie's having these panic attacks."

"Wow that's fascinating." Dewey stated sarcastically.

"What's biting you?" Huey asked.

"Wouldn't you like to know." Dewey spat out.

"What's gotten into you? Are you okay?"

"Oh yeah, totally fine, but I really should leave before 'I make things worse'!" Dewey yelled.

"What? Dewey, you know I didn't mean that." Huey stated.

"Sure you didn't, you never yell at me! Why then, what did I do wrong!?" Louie stirred in his sleep and awoke slowly. He rubbed his eyes and sat up. "Why don't you ever worry about me!? Why is it always Louie huh!?"

"I-I..."

"HUH!? IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME!? WHAT IS IT!? AM I TOO LOUD, TOO ANNOYING, TOO CLINGY!!? ANSWER ME!"

"Why are you guys fighting?" Louie asked with a shaky voice, tears came to his eyes,

'Oh no.' Huey thought, 'He can't cry, he'll have another panic attack!' "We weren't fighting Lou, it's okay."

"Not fighting!? Are you serious!? Then what do you call what we were just doing then!?" Huey pulled Dewey out of the room.

"Dewey, I'm sorry, but please shut up."

"Why shoul-" Huey covered his brother's bill with his hand.

"Louie has Aquaphobia, meaning he's afraid of water. He won't go near water, and if we make him cry he's going to have another panic attack."

"Tears are salty water, and if he cries.....oh no..." The two entered the room and saw Louie sitting on his bed as tears streamed down his face. His breathing was heavy and his eyes were wide. Huey and Dewey looked at each other. 'What do I do?'
