I worked the whole day the day before the event, finishing customers' orders who wanted them early as I was afraid I would not be able to finish them later.
When I went through the name of customers list, I was happy that I had three more customers with three to five items to make. As I knew I could finish the rest later, I cleaned up the table and went to rest at twelve midnight. Some people thought making bracelet was as easy as learning ABC, but truth to be told, it took an hour or a half hour to finish one and it was depending on what design and style.
Finally, the day had come. I was glad that the event would start in between eleven in the morning and twelve in the afternoon. I felt more tired than I usually was. I felt something didn't feel right in my body. Nonetheless, I pushed myself up from bed and proceeded to shower.
I left the bathroom an hour later with a towel wrapped my body and my hair. I took out the dress that Namjoon chose for me last time from the wardrobe. I unbundled my hair, letting it to fall free on back. I dried it with a hair dryer and later, straightened it.
My room felt a little colder than usual. My flesh felt light. The hairdryer only warmed me a little. I hated how I knew what I was feeling at the moment.
I put on the dress and applied a little make up next. I didn't feel like putting on contact lenses that day, so I took out a glasses from it's case and put it on my face. I had to press my eyes to adjust my blurry view for awhile.
Coincidentally when I was checking myself for the last time in the mirror, a message came on my phone. I lifted it up while pressing the home button, seeing Yeri's name came as a notification.

I was already at the living room, drinking a cup of water when I told her that I was going to pick her up soon.
Seeing that she was offline already, I took out a small bottled perfume from my bag and then sprayed a little on both of my collarbones. Sweet strawberry scent satisfied my smelling sense as it began to linger around me. At the same time, my throat felt like it clogged my nose even though I could breath properly. I deeply swallowed my saliva.
I brought a zippered sweater with me, just in case I would be really needing it.
I took out a pair of black wedges sneakers with fake shoe laces from the shoes cabinet. I thought it was weird to match a dress with sneakers at first, but I wanted to be comfortable. Driving with heel shoes are dangerous, so I put on scandals and went to my car next.
Driving to Yeri's house only took ten minutes, I notified her when I almost reached her house. At the same time, I received an incoming call from Namjoon. I was relieved that I sent the message already. I answered the call after that.
I didn't feel well. Still, I managed to answer cheerfully, "hellooo!"
Namjoon chuckled, "hey, baby. Are you going today?"
I had arrived at Yeri's house at that time. I pulled the car's break as I answered, "hm! Yeah, I'm going."
"Are you on the way now?"
"Yup. I am picking up Yeri first. She's going too."
"Okay. I'm happy that you have a company with you."
Namjoon still didn't know that it was Yeri who wanted to go and I was the one accompanying her. I was only able to giggle as a response.
"Drive safe. Put on seatbelts, don't drive over limit." I smiled at his reminder. I knew all that and it was kind of tiring that he kept reminding me the same whenever he knew I would be driving, but I understood he did that because he cared. The reminder didn't stop there. "Don't cut too many cars, the road ain't a racing field. Don't disobey the traffic light and don't –"
"Don't cuss when a car cut mine at the wrong time," I weakly said with a small laugh in between. The last reminder was always a funny one. There's no law about cussing while driving though. "I remember, bae."
His voice was replaced by a sound of a relief sigh. "Good or else I'll shave your eyebrows."
I weakly guffawed. I let out a sigh after that. My body felt more and more uncomfortable.
"Baby?"
My voice cracked when I let out, "yeah?" I cleared my throat before swallowing my saliva.
"Are you okay? You sound a little weak today."
"I'm okay. Just tired because of last night." I silently inhaled a deep breath as my free hand plastered on the forehead and the elbow on the door.
"You stayed up late again." His tone almost sounded disappointed and stern.
I dumbly giggled. "I have to finish a few orders. I don't want finishing them last minute."
"You should've called me. I can help you."
"It's okay, bae. Besides, you're busy too. I don't want to bother you."
"Nah, you're never bothering."
"Whatever you're saying, but I can always handle these myself."
"I'm not going push you, but okay. I just don't want you to get sick."
I deeply hummed as a response. While wondering what took Yeri so long to come out, I asked, "are you at the company?"
"Yeah. Practicing. I'm taking a break now."
"Then, you should rest."
"I was thinking of you." Silence. "That's why I call." There was a short shout and laugh at the background which I assumed they were from the members or the staffs. Then, I heard a distant hush.
I chuckled. "Yeri is going to come out soon. I can't talk to you on the phone later."
"Right..."
"I will send you a message when I'm home." I looked up when I sensed a presence approaching my car. "Oh, Yeri is here. I talk to you later."
"Okay. Enjoy your day, baby."
"You too. Don't overwork yourself. Say hello to the members for me."
Namjoon lightly chuckled. "Sure. I love you."
I smiled, "I love you too."
Yeri was already in the car when I replied Namjoon. She was humming, teasing me while wiggling her index finger.
I scoffed as I pushed her index finger away.
She giggled as she sat back and pulled the seatbelt before securing it.
**********
Yeri found it weird that I sounded weak and extra tired that day. I lied and joked that I needed caffeine because my soul was still sleeping. It looked like my white lie blinded her mind which was a good result for me who didn't want to let her going to the event alone.
After I parked my car, I put on my wedges sneakers after wearing a pair of light brown stockings. The stockings were barely seen as they blend well with the color of my skin. It would look like I walked around in sneakers without socks.
We went into a restaurant together. It was cold and it made my throat feeling dry and tight. I put my black sweaters on. At this rate, I didn't care how my style looked sloppy or ugly.
We were greeted by the loud noises of people laughing and talked. A little sound of glass clinking against each other. I bet they would serve soju on the table. With the condition I was going through at that moment, I doubted to accept a sip.
I tightened my sweater, my sling bag that hung on my right shoulder bumped on my right hip as I pushed my hands on the sides of my ribcage.
I didn't realise that Yeri noticed my behavior. "Hanmi?"
I got startled as I stopped walking.
"You okay?"
I nodded. "I'm okay."
"You look pale."
"I'm still sleepy."
"Oh... Uhm... Let's get seated so you can order coffee."
I nodded my head again.
Familiar faces greeted us. I looked around and finally, met the eyes of a girl who I wished I wouldn't meet that day. The girl who I trusted, the girl who I called a friend who would live with me until the end of our breath. But they were all destroyed because of both parties egos and she finally showed her true colors. Ahn Suji.
I quickly ran my gaze to the rest who attended the party and gave them a light smile. I decided to avoid her as best as I could. I never wanted to talk to her anymore. I didn't want to know her anymore.
We even had three of our lecturers with us. Two of them had retired from teaching and one was still teaching in the same college.
I had to admit I was quiet the whole time and occasionally laughing with them, but not as loud as them. I didn't bother to interfere as I barely had memories with most of them who attended the event. As much as I wanted to let this go, it irked me to hear Suji's voice.
No one knew how much I drank water that time. I realized that I was coughing once in awhile. My throat felt dry, irritating and harsh even though I rejected soju when they tried to give me.
I excused myself to go to the toilet. I got up from the chair. All of a sudden, everything felt light and heavy. Almost everything spinning. The atmosphere around me felt suffocating. The middle of my head felt like something blunt pressing it. My body felt like a flame was somewhere near me.
I couldn't handle the pressure anymore. I weakly dropped on the cold floor. The floor didn't help my hot body to cool down. I got goosebumps because of the coldness instead. I tried my best to keep awake at that moment too.
Everything felt like it was going to fade, so I couldn't identify whose voice when someone shouted my name with worry, but I knew it belonged to a female.
The view of a male's dress shoes greeted my hooded eyes that was threatened to shut. Sir Michael kept calling my name and asked a question that I couldn't clearly hear.
"She's burning up! Call Im Changkyun!"
Changkyun? He's here?
