The synopsis of the first three novels in the Inheritance Cycle was almost directly copied from the fourth book, Inheritance.

I used the Inheriwiki (http://inheritance.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page) as a constant source of information, and also Wikipedia for knowledge about the Olympians and other Greek deities.

Many names were inspired or chosen from names listed in Paolini's books; some words in the ancient language are from an English-Old Norse dictionary (see external link) since Paolini had not created them, and since he has said the ancient language is partially derived from it.
