Prison

I started writing this after Tommy's 2/22 stream, now it's 3/1 and the child died the way I wrote it bit I didn't publish this in time so yeah. Enjoy.

Tw: abuse, main character death

Explosions went off above his head and fear grabbed at his stomach as he looked into the inmate's eyes. They had been having a casual chat, Tommy was here for closure and to say goodbye to Dream.

"What was that?"

He had a sick grin as he met Tommy's eyes, "I don't know, I've been stuck in here."

"Dream," he panicked and looked up as more explosions went off, "what is that?"

"It sounds like TNT."

"Sam!" He yelled through the door, "Sam can you let me out?" He waited for an answer, but nothing came. "Sam? SAM!"

"Tommy-"

"SAM PLEASE! NO JOKE I WANT OUT"

"Tommy listen-"

"No, don't talk to me! I've gotta get sam... SAM PLEASE!" He felt scared, his stomach was doing flips and he couldn't think clearly. All he knew was that he had to get out.

"Tommy he's not coming."

"Yes he is! Shut up! SAM! LET ME OUT, I WANT OUT! LET ME OUT! SAM!"

"Tommy!" Dream stepped forward and grabbed the boy, trying to get him to listen.

The contact only made Tommy panic more as his mind raced, "PHIL! PHIL HELP ME!"

"They can't hear you Tommy. Sam isn't coming."

"Yes he is!" Tommy pushed the man's hands away and got as far away from him as possible.

"You signed a waiver. I know you did because I wrote that waiver. If there's a security breach then you could be stuck in here for up to a week."

"There's no security breach! Everything fine," he denied the man's reasoning, knowing full well he was right.

"That sounded like a lot of TNT," Dream giggled, "like- a lot a lot. I'd assume there was a security issue."

"SAM!" He was furiously typing into his phone, trying to get a hold of the prison guard.

"He's busy."

"A week?"

"Yep. It's bonding time! You said you we leaving, maybe this is good. We'll spend some time together before you go."

"No!" He was as close to the lava door as he could get without touching it. He still couldn't get away from him. "This was supposed to be my last time! My closure! The end of our book!"

"We've got a week together. It can't be that bad. It'll be just like old times," his sick grin widened as the realization set into Tommy.

"No! Nonono, not again, please not again. Can we shorten it? Not a week? Like, maybe now?"

"It can be up to a week they keep you in here."

"It's happening all over again. I can't go a week. I can't do that. I won't last a week. I need out. SAM!"

"You can shout all you want, Sam isn't gonna let you out."

Tommy shrunk to the ground, letting sobs wrack his body, "not again, not again. Please not again."

"It's alright Tommy," Dream crouched infront of him, setting a hand on his shoulder, "this time I've changed."

A bit of time passed and Tommy eventually fell asleep, exhausting himself from crying. Dream sat in the opposite corner watching him, knees to his chest as he sat on his bed.

He knew Tommy wasn't going to trust him as easily this time. But it hadn't been long, he could lul the boy back to trusting him. All it would take was a bit of time, and his faith in his plan.

Around noon the next day Tommy sat up with a jolt. Dream stumbling back from his crouched position.

"Did you just poke me you prick?"

Dream laughed, "yeah, I did."

"You such a- hunghghhg," he continued to grumble as got up and walked over to Dream's bed and sat on it. "What do you do in here to keep yourself entertained?"

"I count how many different specs of blue I can see in the obsidian. There isn't much to do."

"That's not very fun," he looked around, his eyes dulling once he realised he was really stuck here.

"You haven't even been here 24 hours and you're already bored. Took me a few days. It was really when my clock was taken that I got bored. Don't you have anything to entertain you?"

"I do!" He grabbed his phone out of his pocket and pressed to power button. The screen stood blank, "it's dead!" He tossed it across the room in a sudden burst of anger.

"Oh, it's okay." Dream walked over an picked it up, setting it on his small table. "We'll find another way to pass the time."

"I don't want to spend time with you, that's why I'm looking for a distraction stupid."

Dream shrugged and sat down infront of a wall, starting to count the blue flecks. Eventually he could hear whispering numbers as his roomie  counted the blue flakes aswell.

"I so boreeeeeed," he sighed and flopped backward after only 60.

"What's going on in L'manburg? What have you guys been up too?"

"Why should I tell you? You don't deserve to know what's going on outside here."

"Fine. Don't tell me," he crossed his arms and looked away, but smiled when he heard Tommy sigh.

"Well, I've started a hotel. Really only properly run it for a week. And Jack Manifold is one of my employees! I think Tubbo's my receptionist but I can't remember. I hope Sam Nook takes care of it, I'd trust that man with my life."

"With you're life? He's the one keeping you in this prision."

"No-" Tommy held up a finger and pointed it accusingly at Dream, "you're the one keeping me here."

"I haven't done anything! I don't know what the explosions were yesterday!"

"That's a lie and I know-" he was cut off by a harsh slap across the face. His wide eyes watered but he refused to cry.

"Don't ever. Accuse me. Of lying. I don't lie, I bend the truth."

Tommy swung a fist forward, "You lie all the time!" He continued to try and hit Dream. "You lied in Exile, you lied to my friends, you're lying to yourself! George and Sapnap don't love you! George is living a peaceful life and Quackity, Karl, and Sapnap have a thing going. They don't love you, they never did!" Dream caught Tommy's fist and twisted it backward, punching the boy in the nose.

He staggered back, the tears welled in his eyes now spilled over, dream stepped forward and threw another punch, "don't you ever say they didn't love me!" He was repeatedly hitting the boy, who was now on the floor bleeding and weakly trying to get the man to stop, "we were happy! Running a small world with just a few people!" Dream was blinded by rage, he didn't see that Tommy had stopped struggling or that he was squeezing his eyes shut in hopes that the assault would end soon. "You ruined it! I let you amd you're friends kn and now it's this!"

"I'm sorry," Tommy had tried to say, but was cut off by Dream picking him up by his shirt coller.

"You aren't sorry. You've never been sorry," he growled through clenched teeth. "Why start now." He tossed the boy carelessly away from him, the blonde hitting the wall and falling the the ground, unmoving.

Dream paced, muttering things to himself. He must have been going for an hour or more because his feet started to hurt. "Tommy-" he sighed and looked over to the boy. He had his eyes closed and he looked to be sleeping. "Did you really fall asleep?" He walked over and shook the boy, noticing his skin was cooler than normal. "Tommy?" He shook the boy again and got no response, "c'mon really? This isn't funny." He checked the boy's pulse, and found nothing, that's when the realization set in. "Did I?"

There was a noise outside and Dream watched as the lava door fell, revealing a tear stained Sam on the other side, "Sam! He- I-"

"Get away from him!" Sam shouted, quickly walking over and pushing Dream aside.

"Sam I don't-"

"Shut up!" He snapped as he desperately searched Tommy for any signs of life, knowing there wouldn't be any. "Look what you did! He was supposed to be safe in here!" He shouted, "there was a security breach and this was supposed to be the safest place for him!"

"Sam I don't know what came over me, he-"

"HE WAS A CHILD! YOU KILLED A CHILD!" Sam picked up Tommy, carrying him bridal style. "Tubbo will decide your fate. Until then, I hope you starve to death." He walked out, closing up the cell and leaving Dream alone.

"SAM! SAM I'M SORRY!" He shouted, "I DON'T KNOW WHAT CAME OVER ME! I-" he sat back against the wall, "I don't know."
