"Get away from him!" a familiar feminine voice yelled out. 

Ink opened his eye sockets in time to see Chris block the killing blow. She slammed her staff into the guy's head, sending him reeling and backing off from Ink. 

Chris wasted no time in quickly attacking the guy and knocking him out. 

"Filthy cold hearted bitch" she snapped before spitting at the guy's body. 

She turned around and walked over to Ink. 

"You alright?" she asked as she put her hand out. 

"I'll be fine" Ink replied, taking her hand and letting her pull him up. 

"Chris! Ink! Our work isn't done here!" Dream called, tossing a bucket of water onto some flames. 

"Right, come on. Let's put these fires out" Chris said. 

She grabbed Ink's hand and pulled him after her. Ink blushed at the contact, but went with it as the two went to collect water to help put out the fires...

After most of the action died down, it was time to turn to helping families reunite with each other. Ink was attempting to help a frantic women look for her missing child, but there was a communication barrier. 

The women only spoke Spanish, and didn't understand English. Luckily, Chris noticed and came over. 

"What's wrong?" she asked. 

"I'm trying to help this person find her kid, but she speaks Spanish. And I doubt she understands any English" Ink replied. 

"Oh! Let me handle this, alright?" Chris told him, putting a reassuring hand on his shoulder before walking over to the woman, who was close to hysterics. 

Ink watched in amazement as Chris started speaking Spanish to the woman, who seemed to calm down after finding someone who spoke her native language. Chris managed to find out that the woman had been forcefully separated from her child by a couple S.S.O. members, but the child had managed to fight back and ran off to hide. 

The woman showed Chris to the house they had been living in, and Chris reassured the woman that she would find the missing child. 

"Su nombre es Rosey" the woman sniffed. (Her name's Rosey) 

"La encontrare, lo prometo" Chris told her. (I'll find her, I promise) 

She turned away and walked into the house, calling Rosey's name. She managed to successfully find the little girl, who had been hiding in a secret compartment in the closet. 

After gaining the young girl's trust by speaking reassuringly in Spanish to her, Chris picked up the young child and held her comfortingly. The mother was overjoyed to see that her daughter was safe, and continuously thanked Chris, who simply played the modest card. 

After the woman had gone back to her family, Ink came over. 

"When did you learn how to speak Spanish?" he asked. 

"It was something I picked up while living in Technotale. I have a couple friends over there who speak different languages" Chris explained. 

"How many languages do you know?" Ink asked her as the two walked around the village assessing the damage done. 

"Four. Well, five if you include English" Chris said after counting on her fingers. 

Ink stared at her in amazement. 

"What? It wasn't that hard for me" Chris replied with a small smile. 

"Well, there is something I forgot to say earlier" Ink admitted. 

"And that is?" Chris asked, raising an eyebrow. 

"Thanks. For saving me" Ink said to her, rubbing the back of skull. Chris blushed softly as she smiled. 

"Your welcome. Besides, I want you to be there when we, eventually, take down the S.S.O." she said. 

Ink blushed at her words, something Chris was confused by until she realized what she said, which had her blushing a bit. Ink thought she looked pretty cute like this. 

However, their little moment was broken when Jessica came up to the two. 

"Alright love birds, lets go" she said

Ink and Chris were silent as they processed what she said. 

"Wh-lovebirds?!" they said at the exact same time, glancing at each other before looking back at Jessica. 

She burst out laughing. 

"Oh my god, ya'll should have seen the looks on your faces!" she cried, still laughing. 

"My gods" Ink heard Chris mutter under her breath, making him softly smile. 

"What's going on over here?" Dream asked. 

Everyone looked over to see him walking over. 

"Ohhh, you should have seen their faces when I called them lovebirds" Jessica told him, still softly giggling. 

Dream shook his head as he chuckled under his breath. Then he gently pulled Jessica away. 

Once they were a good enough distance, Dream spread out a wing, blocking her from Chris and Ink's view. 

"Honestly, I do ship them together" he admitted with a smile. 

Jessica gasped. 

"You too?!" she asked. 

Dream nodded, and laughed a bit when Jessica did a little happy dance. The two walked off, leaving a confused Ink and Chris behind. 

"What do you think they were talking about?" Ink asked Chris, who shrugged. 

"Who knows?" she replied. 

She glanced over at Ink and beckoned with her head. 

"Come on, let's head back to HQ" she said before starting to walk away. 

Ink glanced around the village one last time before jogging to catch up with the female fighter...
