Venus stood in front of the dressing mirror in her room, perfectly dressed in a black hoodie with grey joggers and a faint smile adorning her face. She glanced at the owl cage when Athena let out a soft squeak as if to greet her owner a good morning.

Venus smiled to herself and picked up the letter she had written last night for Teddy to get an update. Venus caressed Athena lovingly who hopped on her shoulder and stood by the open window.

"Take it to Edward." She smiled while tucking the letter in the owl's beak who flapped its wings and took off in the blue sky.

Venus took a deep breath and hurried downstairs to find the living room empty. Sighing to herself, she climbed the stairs and found herself standing in front of her father's bedroom to apologize to him and get him talking to her because it was killing her from inside.

Pushing all the negative and hurtful thoughts away, Venus lifted her fisted hand up and knocked on the door about three times, waiting for a reaction.

"What do you need Venus?" Theodore called out with annoyance escorting his tone.

"Dad." Venus smiled on getting a response even though he sounded upset,"I need to talk to you."

Venus pressed her ear to the door and immediately pulled away when she heard shuffling of feet. Theodore opened the door and rose her eyebrows at her before crossing his arm across his chest.

"Dad I am sorry!" Venus started with a pout,"I know I messed up things, broke the rules and hexed someone but I only did it because he was being stupid and beating Edward. I just did it to help─"

"Hexing someone isn't a help." Theodore interrupted, leaning by the doorway,"right?"

"Oh god, right!" Venus sighed, her eyebrows furrowed together,"But dad I promise I just won't do it again. Never ever again. I promise. Just talk to me."

Theodore glanced at the floor beneath him before lifting his eyes up to meet Venus',"I'm not upset Venus. Okay maybe I am. But I'm just worried for you. I don't want you to get in trouble. I promised your mum that I'll keep you safe so please let me uphold her promise."

"Sorry." Venus muttered, a sudden emotion of escaping the conversation filling her head on feeling the tears brimming at the edge of her eyes,"I won't repeat it again."

Theodore smiled at her and pulled her in a hug, rubbing her back in comfort after he noticed a tear slipping down her cheeks.

"It's alright." He said gently,"I just want you be okay."

"Good to find that you two finally declared a truce." Theodore Nott Sr. said with a small smile on his face.

"Yeah dad can't ignore me for too long." Venus grinned earning an eye roll from her father.

"Breakfast anyone?" The old man asked, still chuckling.

Venus nodded,"Oh yes please."

She scampered downstairs and sat down on the dining table and watched her grandfather fumbling with the pan to scramble the eggs.

"Here, let me do it." She offered, coming to a stop next to him who insisted on doing it by himself,"Just let me do it."

"Alright." Theodore Nott sr. gave up, handing the pan to Venus who smiled in response.

"By the way, I need to buy gifts for my friends." She informed,"So who's coming with me?"

"Do you want me to come along?" The old man asked.

"Oh yes please. Dad keeps on complaining on how I take a long time to pick out gifts." Venus mumbled, serving the scrambled eggs in the plate.

She had decided on buying a broom mending kit for Andrew, extendable ears for the higgs twins, a french perfume for Elphias and a muggle novel for Teddy who had a dying love for those.

It was the evening of christmas eve. Venus tried to refuse to visit the weasleys but she couldn't make up her mind.

At last, she ended up at the burrow which needless to say reverberated with loud chatters and laughs. Venus kept to herself and sat on the couch on the corner, shielding her from the outer world.

She lazily munched on the chocolate cookies Fleur handed to her while staring at the christmas tree kept in the hall. Her eyes traveled to Teddy who was laughing on something George told him.

"Hi Venus." Victoire spoke up nervously, fiddling with her fingers.

Venus straightened her posture and forced her lips into a small smile but she still felt uncomfortable and awkward around Victoire.

"Heya."

Victoire kept quiet and took a seat next to her on the adjacent couch before clearing her throat to have the youngest nott's attention.

"I wanted to talk to you.    .    ." The blonde started,"about whatever happened."

Venus had no interest in rummaging through her mistake once again but she wanted to listen to what Victoire had to say. "Hmm." Venus motioned her to continue.

"I know that things were pretty bad for me. for us actually." Victoire corrected quickly,"I won't lie because whatever happened it did hurt me. But I guess I lost the right to be upset."

Venus gave her a questioning look,"Cause we had already broken up. And I don't want everything to be awkward around us just because of Teddy."

"I don't understand." Venus chuckled nervously,"Days ago you were blaming me. You thought we have something going on behind your back."

"I realized I was overthinking." Victoire admitted,"And I just want things to be normal once again."

"That's great." Venus smiled heartily. With a one last smile, Victoire got up from her place and walked away leaving Venus alone once again.

Venus made her way towards the kitchen to keep back the empty tray where she found fleur decorating the christmas cake with a sachet of cream.

"That looks delicious." Venus smiled while washing her hands.

"Really?" Fleur blushed earning a nod from Venus who walked out of the kitchen, wiping her hands on her denim jeans.

She hurried to the couch she was sitting on when her eyes fell on Teddy who had a gift box on his lap. When Venus reached him she found him writing a short note to stick it on the gift box.

"Hi." Venus tried again after getting ignored by him. He didn't even reply back to her letter she had written to him get an update.

Teddy glanced up at her and chose to ignore her in the hope that she'll leave him alone.

"Edward." Venus sighed, plopping down next to her,"Come on now. I apologized like trillion of times. I have realized my mistake. I deserve forgiveness."

"Why don't you just stay away from me?" Teddy frowned, keeping the box aside to face Venus.

"I.   ." Venus thought for a suitable reason,"I don't know. I just like to annoy you maybe. Or maybe you're just a good companion. You're the only one I feel more comfortable with."

"But I don't know how you feel." Teddy asserted,"I can't help you when you get sad or when you miss your father because I don't have a father. I don't have a family."

Venus stared at him in response before lowering her eyes,"You don't need to taunt me like that. It just rolled off my bloody tongue but really I don't mean it. Most of the things I say to you, I don't mean it. You do have a family." Venus smiled,"Andy, dad, uncle harold, the weasleys, aunt ginny and me."

Teddy raised one of his eyebrows at her in amusement before he burst into a misfit of laughter. "What?" Venus frowned, confused by his sudden laughter.

"You look so scared." Teddy managed to say.

"Because I am scared!" Venus exclaimed grumpily,"I don't want you to ignore me further. I don't feel good. I am sorry."

"It's okay." Teddy said, passing her a small smile.
