★ 3 - drunk
The Saturday came by faster than expected.
I'm just standing in the middle of my room, trying to pick one outfit as I like more options.
There's a knock on my door.
"You know way too well it's unlocked!" I shout and there are steps rushing inside already. I turn to the entrance to the room, smirking at the two girls. "I was expecting you to come."
"Good boy," Yeojin rolls her eyes. She's wearing a tight top with a big denim jacket over it, baggy jeans holding on her hips only thanks to the belt, everything black as expected. Dark eyeshadows with silver eyeliner, making her dark irisis look so deep and alluring.
"Now, why aren't you ready yet?" Chaewon eyes me up and down as I'm standing there, still in my underwear only. She went for something more comfortable as always, wearing a brown, tight crop top with a blue checkered shirt over it and light, ripped jeans with it. Her eyelids are covered in white and blue, lips pink.
I look down, seeing them both wear Converse. I roll my eyes. "How dare you ask me that when you're wearing shoes inside my room?"
"Oh, don't pretend like you don't do the same at ours and get dressed already." Yeojin walks to my bed, seeing the clothes spread there. "This," she immediately picks something up, shoving it into my hands.
"You're not wearing your make up tonight?"
"I am, just... just not yet." I shrug while I'm putting the clothes on.
They share a look and I know what's coming when they nod and turn towards me. They watch me pull the top over my head before Yeojin pushes me to my bed. "Now sit down."
Chaewon looks around. "Where's your stuff?"
I point to a chest of drawers. "The bottom one."
She pulls something out, rushing to me. "Let us do our magic."
"I hope no one will run away from me," I laugh as I close my eyes.
Chaewon is working on my hair while Yeojin is having fun with the eyeshadows and lipstick.
I have to give them one thing though - they're really fast. It takes only few minutes for them to pull away.
"Check yourself."
I open my eyes, looking at them curiously since they're smirking more than I think is healthy. "Okay...?" I get up, walking to the mirror in my closet door to check my reflection and I stand there in shock for a few seconds before leaning in. "Is this really me?"
"I know right?" Yeojin flips her hair proudly.
"We should give up on studies and start our own business," Chaewon says, giving her friend a high five.
The left side of my hair is braided and the ends are tied up in a ponytail with the rest. The eyeshadows are dark but... what else to expect from Yeojin, right. It looks good though, I never thought black would look like that on my face.
I look away, scanning the room for my accessories. I put on the necklace with the Celtic Sun around my neck, some bracelets on my right wrists as the left one has to be occupied with my watch as usual. I add rings to my fingers and turn to my friends who are smiling wide.
"You're getting laid tonight, boy," Yeojin says.
I laugh at that. "Sure. Now get up and let's go." I pick up the bottle of vodka since it's more of a house party then something official. I then put a phone into my back pocket, a lighter into the front one. I lock the door behind me right after, hiding the keys into the inside pocket of my jacket.
Tonight is gonna be fun. I feel it.

We were the first ones from our group to arrive but some others got there just a few minutes after us.
We're sitting by the table as we see them by the entrance. We wave at them until they notice us and nod their heads to greet us.
"Hi," Jaehyun smiles after he takes all the bottles they brought to the kitchen.
"Hi." I move my chair to the side a bit to make some space for him and the rest.
The hall is huge. It looks more like an old gym and I suppose it in fact is one as I observe the parquet floor with faded lines on it.
Yeojin gets up, Chaewon does too as they're saying something to each other. Suddenly they turn to me.
"You're going with us?" Yeojin asks, sliding her arms into the sleeves of her sweatshirt.
"Where?"
"Weed."
Without barely any hesitation I nod my head, putting a jacket on. "Of course."
They both laugh. "Still can't forget how Minho said you hate people who smoke. And now look at you! Smoking weed and cigarettes with us."
I laugh at that. "What else am I supposed to do? Die bored and not enjoy life at all?"
"My words," Chaewon laughs and we're outside already.
"Let's go a bit further," Yeojin leads us away from the entrance, pulling out a package, taking out one joint. "You got a lighter, right?"
Chaewon pulls out one from her pocket, smiling proudly. "This one is actually Jihyo's. Got it from her on our prom." The end of the joint lights up and Yeojin starts dragging it shortly as Chaewon continues: "I don't even think she noticed it disappearing."
Yeojin hands her the joint and she's dragging it for a while.
"I actually don't have an idea how strong it is. This is the first time I'm smoking these."
"Guess we'll see," I shrug as it finally gets to me too. It burns and scratches my throat. I don't mind though - I like the taste.
We stand there for a while longer before going back inside.
"Where were you?" Jaehyun asks.
"Smoking weed," Yeojin explains.
"You too?" he eyes me suspiciously.
"Sure," I nod my head, not understanding what's so weird about it. "Why?"
"Just asking."
We talk a bit and suddenly Yeojin laughs. "I'm stoned already."
Chaewon nods her head. "Same."
"I'm not. I wasn't even at that Beomgyu's party - you remember it, right?"
"Sure, we do."
Yeojin leans in closer. "See, you'd have to smoke one whole piece to feel something. For the two of us, this little is okay but with your height I'm not surprised it's done nothing to you."
Makes sense.
After that, we just chat about whatever, waiting for the others to arrive.
Slowly, all the ten people gather around our table and we get some drinks and talk and dance while sitting since we don't really feel like getting up yet. The parquet is almost empty still and so I end up waving my hands to Las Ketchup with Jaehyun and Chanhee, the others laughing as they're watching us.
After two hours, I have four or five vodka-juice in me already but I don't feel anything. And so I get up and go to the kitchen, making myself one more drink, grabbing a bottle of beer from the fridge as well. I return to the table just to see only half of the people left - the rest is dancing already.
I put my drinks down, slumping into the chair.
Chaewon jolts up. "Well, Jin, you're going a bit wild now, aren't you?"
I look her in the face, dead serious. "I came here to get at least a bit wasted but I feel nothing still. I need to get at least tipsy already." And with that, I chug the cup with the orange drink in it down.
"Whatever you want," Yeojin says before getting up. "I'm going to dance," she informs us before running to the rest on the parquet.
We sit there with Chaewon for a bit longer in silence while the music is blasting loudly from the speakers. After a few songs, I notice her laying her head on the table. I smile, trying to put my jacket over her shoulders but she pushes it away. "Nah, it's okay. I'm just," she yawns, "a bit tired, you know."
"Alright, sleep tight then," I say before finishing the beer as well. "I'm leaving you, okay?"
She hums as she pulls one of the chairs closer to put her legs on it, leaning her back on the wall. "Sure. Have fun."
I watch her close her eyes and snuggle into her shirt.
Is she really going to fall asleep in the middle of this noise?
She is.
And so I get on the dance floor, my head starting to feel lighter finally.
—★—
The room is dark, lights are flashing fast and bright and I am in the middle of it, dancing on my own, all alone.
The rest divided into pairs, getting spread all over the dance parquet.
And so I move into the tones and melodies as I want, trying to convince myself I don't feel even a bit lonely.
And then, suddenly, we lock eyes.
A girl runs up to me, pulling a guy by his wrist behind her - they seem to be good friends.
"Hi," she beams.
"Um... Hi," I smile back shyly. I know it's coming again - the moment I drift away from the people I came with and get to meet someone new. We'll follow each other's Instagrams, saying we'd meet again soon and never see each other ever again, only texting from time to time if we get lucky.
However, I wasn't expecting him to grab my shoulders. He turns me towards him, leaning to my ear so that I can hear him through the loud music: "You look so fucking hot!"
I laugh awkwardly, waving my hand in denial. "Nah, I do not."
The girl slaps my shoulder. "Shut the fuck up! Yes, you do!"
"Well," I say, rubbing the spot she hit, "thanks. You are beautiful too-" I blink a few times, confused as to where did she go and how did I not notice her leaving.
His voice is deep and the sound of his laughter makes my insides twist in a weird way. I hadn't felt like this in a while. "Yeah, she likes to vanish and re-appear at the worst and most inconvenient moments. I'm sorry for her."
His hand lands on my hip. The touch is light and gentle, going up to be laid on my shoulder and continues behind my neck from there. He pulls me closer and at that point I have goosebumps all over my body. I can feel his hot breath on my ear again as he asks: "What's your name?"
I lean in even closer. "Hyunjin," I respond, my palms land on his back, fingertips feeling the electricity of that tension between us.
"Hyunjin?" he repeats.
I nod my head. "Yeah."
"Pretty name."
Only lord knows why I feel a blush creeping up my cheeks. "Thanks." Now it's my time to pull him in as he is leaning away already - he looks good and seems fun, his touch is so soft and I am alone, under the influence of alcohol, completely carefree,... Who wouldn't have taken him, right? "What's your name?"
"Matthew."
The name is rolling on my tongue as I am pronouncing it in my head silently for a while. "Good name," I nod eventually.
He laughs yet again, his shining eyes meeting mine. "So tell me... Who are you here with?"
"Just the other people from my lectures."
"Oh really? Where are they?" He looks around as I do, too.
I rub the back of my neck. "Can't see them actually..."
"That's okay," he assures me and I swear that smile makes my knees weak. "It can be just the two of us for now, am I right?"
My gaze is travelling all over his lit up face as I nod my head in enchantment.
"Nice. Let's enjoy tonight then, Hyunjin."
The room is dark, lights flashing fast and bright and I am in the middle of it, his hands around my waist as we move to the rhythm.
I like it.
