When she woke, Noah had already left for practice. Usually that's when she headed home, but the thought of going home made her sick to her stomach. Hiding from the world was easier in this room beneath the covers.
The only time she even moved was when she went to the restroom. She was being thankful he had one in his room when the door opened.
"Why in the hell are you__."
His father stilled at seeing her.
"Quinn. When I heard something, I thought Noah missed practice again. It's good to see you. I was telling Connie just the other day that I wished you came over more."
Noah had his father's blond hair, but that was about it. His father was shorter. Even at his age, he worked out a lot, so he was even bigger than his son, who played football.
He came into the room.
Usually, he was dressed in a suit, but today he had on a pair of shorts and a muscle shirt. She knew a midlife crisis when she saw it.
She sat on Noah's bed. Thankfully, she'd bothered putting on a shirt, or this would be very embarrassing.
In all the times she's been coming over here, this was the first time she's seen his father here. Usually, she only had to see him at her father's parties. He was always friendly, and he always made a mention of how glad he was that she and Noah were dating.
"Dad."
Hearing his youngest son, the older man stiffened, and he turned narrowed eyes towards the doorway. When he saw that his look wasn't going to scare his son away, he turned back to Quinn. "It was good to see you."
Jake shut the door as soon as his dad stepped out.
He also had his dad's blond hair. He was taller than his father and his brother and thinner. His hair wasn't as wavy, and it was more of a golden color than white- blond like Noah's and his father.
Jake was by far the better looking of all three of them.
"Please tell me you were not about to make some points off my dad because that would just be gross."
Very gross.
He must have seen her repulsion because he sighed in relief. Instead of leaving, he studied her.
"Did you want something?"
"I was remembering when we used to be friends. It wasn't that long ago so I'm sure you can remember it too."
"I'm not looking for company."
He sat at the foot of Noah's bed.
