xxx. THE MIKAELSON FAMILY have been responsible for thousands, maybe even in the millions at this point, of deaths over the millennium that they've been alive—or undead.

They're the bad guys in every story but their own, at least they used to be until the first born of the next generation changed the game, Hope Andrea Mikaelson.

Under the false name of Hope Kenner, the girl became an agent of SHIELD at the age of fifteen and quickly rose through the ranks and became trusted by the highest ranking of the agency. Hope aided the government with many issues, especially supernatural issues, that the world weren't to know about.
And eventually, Hope was added to the Avengers Initiative and became an Avenger when she and the rest of their group of misfits saved New York City and the entire world from an alien invasion led by the trickster god, Loki.

Even though she didn't use her real last name, Hope was changing the legacy of the Mikaelson family for both herself and her younger cousin, Finley Mikaelson.

Keeping the supernatural world a secret from humans was a lot more difficult, however. The higher ups of SHIELD such as Nick Fury and Maria Hill knew along with the Avengers, James Rhodes, and Pepper Potts.

The rest of the world were told that the powerful girl that appeared in the Battle of New York was a government agent like the Black Widow and Hawkeye, codename Dove, that was also an enhanced individual. That's all they'd been told. And with the public trust from both Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, the world didn't seem to care much about it.

Tony Stark became the girl's new legal guardian right after the battle since her former guardian, Phil Coulson, had died at the hands of Loki himself. And even though she was now nineteen and didn't need a legal guardian anymore, Tony was still there for her as a surrogate father and made sure to spend time together at least once a month.

Because Hope had to bounce around between locations for her "hero work", she made sure she had multiple homes both inside the country and outside.

She had her own floor personally designed by Tony at the Stark/Avengers Tower, an apartment in Washington D.C. that she shared with her best friend Lizzie and was only a few doors down from Steve Rogers, the compound back in New Orleans where Freya lives with Keelin and a now three-year-old Finley Mikaelson, and a room at Clint's farmhouse that was created for whenever she or Natasha stayed over.

Hope loved having Lizzie Saltzman as a roommate in her Washington D.C. apartment. Lizzie shared the apartment with Hope while going to college at Howard University and working part-time at a local coffee shop.

Josie Saltzman, Lizzie's twin, was back home in Mystic Falls. She was one of the magic teachers at the Salvatore Boarding School while also going to college online to become a real teacher so she could teach more classes to the supernatural kids.

Hope had no idea that she was being used by a secret organization that infiltrated SHIELD from the very beginning. Hope didn't know that she was basically a villain, unwillingly but still working for the bad guys.

With all the added blood dripping from and weighing down the Mikaelson name, she was practically drowning.
