CHAPTER SIX, trick or treat
"Oliver, get out here! I wanna take pictures before you and Dahlia leave!" Harley called up the stairs to her oldest son. She stood near the front door of the house with her husband, the two dressed as Eugene and Rapunzel from the Disney movie Tangled since it was Halloween. Flynn had insisted they should dress up as them since it worked out great because his name was the same as the character's name and Harley agreed because she had loved the movie.
Footsteps are heard and Dahlia is the first of the two siblings to walk downstairs. This year she decided to go dressed as Tinkerbell because she loved Tinkerbell and the Tinkerbell movies too. She loved all the Disney movies, but she had been obsessed with the Tinkerbell movies when she was a kid. She had all things Tinkerbell: the clothes, the dolls, the fairy wings, and other stuff.
"There's our Tinkerbell!" Flynn grins at his youngest daughter as she walks down the stairs. "You look like a real life Tinkerbell!" He praised, taking out his phone to snap a few pictures.
Dahlia giggles and twirls, showing off her green dress and glittery wings. "Thanks, dad!" She beamed, posing for the camera when her mom took a picture.
"Alright, where's your brother?" Harley questions, looking up the stairs and expecting him to come down any second. "Come on, Oliver!"
"Yeah, we wanna see your Batman costume!" Dahlia called out, stiffling a giggle as she looked up the stairs as well.
"I'm not doing the voice, so don't ask!" Oliver's muffled voice is heard. He stepped into view, coming down the stairs and looking awkward in the Batman costume he wore. He wasn't really sure why he felt a little embarrassed, but he did. He wasn't used to wearing a body suit, actually, he never wore one before. And the mask and cape he wore felt a little weird and heavy, but he thought he looked pretty good. Besides feeling a little awkward and embarrassed, he had to admit he looked great.
"Aww, look at my handsome son." Harley coos, smiling widely as she takes pictures of her son. "Look at you. You look so good!" She was glad he decided to dress up as Batman. He didn't dress up much for Halloween, but she was glad he was getting more into the Halloween spirit and was trying new things. Though she knew it had something to do with Gina, knowing the girl convinced him to do it.
"Looking good, kiddo." Flynn comments, smiling as he looked at his son. He was glad that his son was getting more into the Halloween spirit, especially now that he was in his senior year of high school and was a little stressed with everything. He remembered how he was a senior in high school and felt the stress, and he was glad his son was doing something fun and relaxing for a change. "Alright, get together so we can take some pictures."
"Ugh, really? Dad." Oliver whines, but obliges, moving closer to his sister. He wasn't really a fan of pictures, but his parents insisted on taking a family photo together. He and Dahlia stood next to each other, looking at the camera while their parents stood in front of them. He smiled as his parents took a few pictures. "Alright, can we go now? We're gonna be late to Gina's party." Oliver reminded them, looking at the time.
"Wait, wait." Harley shakes her head, holding up a hand. "One more." She grins, taking one last picture of her kids before pocketing her phone. "Okay, go. Have fun." She stops Oliver again before they left. "Wait, are you really going to tell Gina that you guys might be forced to get someone else to step in to play Gabriella while she's busy with the movie?" She asked softly, looking at him with concern.
Oliver sighs heavily, his shoulders dropping in defeat. He hated the thought of not doing the play with Gina, he had been looking forward to it. But with how busy she had been with the movie, he kept wondering if she would still have time for the play too. And when Dani had spoke to him that one night, telling him the rumor she heard, he had told that to Miss Jenn and talked to her about it. "I don't know. It's a possibility, and I hate the thought. But I have to talk to her about it. She deserves to know."
"I know, I just feel bad. You said the musical means a lot to her and she's really passionate about it." Harley comments, frowning as she felt bad. "But she's busy with the movie and maybe this would be the best for her."
"Exactly. She'll be less stressed if we get a Gabriella while she's gone, she doesn't have to worry about it." Oliver agrees. He chews on his lower lip, fidgeting with his bracelet. "And I hope she will be okay with. I think she might be, but I don't know. I don't really get much sleep 'cause my mind is always racing with all these thoughts." Oliver admitted, looking down at his hands. This caused Harley and Flynn to share a concerned look. They knew Oliver had trouble sleeping and was constantly overthinking and worrying, but they didn't realize it was getting worse.
"Honey." Harley whispers, looking at her son with concern. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, mom." Oliver shrugs, shaking his head and putting on a fake smile. "I'll be okay."
Harley frowns, reaching out and grabbing his arm. "Hey, listen. Your health and mental wellbeing comes first. And I know you're stressed about this whole thing, but we're here for you. Okay? If you need to talk, please do. We're here. We love you, baby. You mean the world to us. And I hate that you're going through this." She whispered, gently tugging him close and hugging him.
"Mom, I'm okay." Oliver says, hugging her back and sighing heavily. He wasn't really okay, but he didn't want to worry his family or talk about this now. He wanted to forget about it, at least for tonight, and enjoy the party. "But I appreciate it. Thank you."
"Always." Harley smiles, pulling away and kissing his cheek. "Alright, go. Have fun." She pulls her daughter into a hug, smiling and kissing her cheek. "You two, Tinkerbell and Batman, be careful."
"We will, mom." Dahlia assures her, smiling at her as she moves to the door. "Come on, Ollie. We'll be late." She told her brother.
"Okay, I'm coming." Oliver nods, stepping outside and joining his sister. "Bye mom, bye dad. Try not to eat all the candy for the trick or treaters." He added teasingly, chuckling as he and Dahlia walked to the car.
"Bye kids!"
"Drive safely!"
The night air was cool, and the sky was clear, with the moon shining brightly. He felt a mixture of excitement and nervousness as they made their way to Gina's party. He was excited to see Gina and spend time with her, but he was nervous about the whole Gabriella situation. He hoped Gina wouldn't be upset and be more relieved about having more time and less things to worry about, but he was unsure. And he was afraid of her reaction.
"Ollie, we're here. Are you okay?"
Dahlia's voice pulled him out of his thoughts, making him blink with surprise as he realized they were already at the party. They had arrived quicker than he thought. He didn't even notice how quickly time had passed.
"I'm okay, D." Oliver answers, forcing a smile. "Promise. Let's go." He nodded, climbing out of the car. The two made their way to the front door, ringing the doorbell and waiting for a few minutes before the door opened. Gina's mom opened the door and let them inside, letting them know everyone was upstairs. They walk up the stairs to Gina's room, hearing music and voices the closer they got. Once they walked up the stairs they saw Gina's room was decorated with Halloween decorations, a bunch of Halloween-themed snacks and treats were on the desk, and the music was playing from the speakers.
"Hey, there you guys are!" Gina beams, quickly making her way over to her boyfriend and his younger sister. "So glad you both could make it."
"Of course we made it." Dahlia grins at her. "We wouldn't miss this for the world." She says, pulling her into a hug. "And, wow, you look amazing as Cat Woman." She praised.
"I'm glad. Thanks." Gina giggles, blushing. "You look exactly like Tinkerbell, it's a little scary." She compliments Dahlia, who grins back at her. "And Oliver, look at you! My Batman is finally here." She smiled widely at her boyfriend, pulling him in for a hug next.
Oliver's face grew warm and a shy smile tugs on his lips while he hugs her back. "Hey, thanks." He mumbles, clearing his throat. "And you look incredible, sweetheart. Stunning as always." He complimented her, taking in the sight of her. She looked beautiful, but she also looked really bada** Cat Woman. She was wearing a black catsuit and was wearing cat ears and a tail, and her makeup and hair were done. He couldn't stop staring at her. She looked like she had stepped right out of a comic book, and he felt a flutter of pride knowing he was her date for the night.
"Thank you!" Gina grins, her eyes sparkling with joy. "I was worried you wouldn't come dressed up, but I'm so glad you did! You make a perfect Batman!" She stepped back to admire him fully, her hands on her hips, a playful smile on her lips.
Oliver rubs the back of his neck, feeling a mix of bashfulness and happiness at her praise. "Well, I thought I'd give it a shot this year," He admis, glancing at Dahlia, who was busy digging into a bowl of candy. "Besides, I wanted to match with you." He added shyly, glancing back at her.
Gina's smile widened at Oliver's words, and she felt her heart skip a beat. She was glad he came as Batman, and she loved that he wanted to match with her. She was surprised, but it made her very happy. And the way he was looking at her, it made her want to melt and kiss him. So she does. She leans forward and gives him a quick peck on the lips, which caught him by surprise, but he smiles at her, his face flushing more. She doesn't stop smiling, slightly amused though that he seemed shy around her now. She giggles a little, taking his hand. "You're adorable, did you know that?" She teased lightly, lacing her fingers with his.
"You're one to talk." Oliver mumbles, still smiling as his cheeks turned pink. He squeezed her hand, feeling butterflies in his stomach. He felt a rush of warmth at her touch, the way their fingers intertwined making him feel more connected to her than ever. "I'm just trying to keep up with you." He joked, his voice a bit softer, as if they were sharing a moment just between the two of them amidst the lively atmosphere.
Dahlia, still munching on her candy, rolled her eyes playfully at her brother as she glances at Gina. "Just a warning, he won't do the voice. So don't ask." Dahlia cut in, rolling her eyes fondly and grinning. Her face brightens at noticing a boy across the room taking to his friends. "You invited Dylan here?" She asked with surprise. Oliver furrowed his eyebrows at the name he didn't know, glancing at his little sister with confusion as he felt his older brother instinct kick in. Who was Dylan? Was he one of her new friends? Why did she seem excited to see him? Why had she told Gina about him and not him?
"Oh, yeah, I noticed you two seemed to be getting close with working on the movie together and all. Figured I would invite him. Hope you don't mind." Gina shrugged, looking at her friend with a soft smile. She knew that Dahlia had a crush on Dylan Johnson, Bart Johnson's nephew. Dylan was one of the backup dancers and featured extras in many scenes of the HSM4 movie. Dahlia was the same in the movie and they had instantly clicked when they met. She also knew Dylan had a thing for Dahlia too, it was obvious and cute.
"Not at all." Dahlia shakes her head, smiling widely as she blushes when Gina nudged her. "I'll catch up with you two later." She added, leaving them and walking over to Dylan.
"Who's Dylan?" Oliver questioned, crossing his arms and frowning. He watched his little sister walk over to a guy who looked a little older than her, but he noticed the way the boy's face lit up when he saw Dahlia. And the way his sister smiled brightly and her cheeks turned pink. He didn't know him, and he wasn't sure how he felt about it. And the fact that Dylan had dressed up as Peter Pan made him wonder if they planned matching costumes or not.
"Dylan Johnson, his uncle is Bart Johnson. You know, the Coach Bolton from the movies." Gina explains, noticing the way he was glaring at the older boy and the way his little sister was interacting with him. "He's a background dancer and featured extra. Really nice and sweet. Pretty cute too. I can see why your sister likes him." She nudged him playfully, grinning.
"W-What do you mean she likes him? Like, she like-like him or just like him?" Oliver stammers, his eyes widening. "He looks older than her. And what's up with that white hair?" He added, his eyes narrowing. The thought of his little sister, Dahlia, having a crush on an older guy was unsettling, especially one he hadn't met yet.
Gina sighs, rolling her eyes at her boyfriend's behavior. "He's a year older than her, Oliver. And it's a look. A good look. You're just being an overprotective brother. I can see it. But don't worry, he's a sweetheart." She assures him, smiling at him. "If you're so worried, want me to introduce you to him?" She offered.
"If they're so close why didn't Dahlia tell me about him?" Oliver frowned, feeling hurt and confused. Dahlia hadn't told him about this Dylan guy, and he wondered why she would keep something like that a secret. Yes, she didn't have to tell him about every little thing about her life, but how come his girlfriend knew about this guy and he didn't? He understood maybe because she's in the movie too and he's not, but still.
"Maybe she didn't know how to bring it up. Didn't want you to go into overprotective brother mode. Like now." Gina chuckles, wrapping her arm around his waist. "Baby, he's a good kid. I've seen them together and they seem to really like each other." She says, smiling softly. "Come on, trust me. Let me introduce you."
Oliver sighs, his shoulders dropping in defeat as he leans into her warm embrace, wrapping his arm around her shoulders. "Okay, fine. Introduce me. Just know that if he does anything, he's dead. And that's not an empty threat." He added, kissing her temple.
Gina giggles. "Yeah, yeah." She rolls her eyes playfully, leading him over to Dylan and Dahlia. "Hey, guys. Dylan, this is Oliver. Dahlia's older brother and my boyfriend. And Ollie, this is Dylan."
"Uh, hi." Oliver greets him awkwardly, giving a tight lipped smile. "Nice to meet you." He reached out to shake Dylan's hand, his grip firm and tight as he stood straighter. He was taller than the boy, so he had that on his side.
"Nice to meet you too, man. Lia told me a lot about you." Dylan admits, smiling friendly at him as he shook Oliver's hand. He didn't seem phased by Oliver's glare and firm grip. He was a little intimidated by the older boy, but he wasn't showing it. "And I like your Batman costume. It looks great."
"Thanks, yours is good too. Looks like you and my sister planned matching costumes." Oliver commented, pulling his hand away and glancing at Dahlia, who looked like she wanted to hide and die of embarrassment. She had her arms crossed, her face flushed, and her lips pressed into a thin line as she avoided looking at either boy. She had a scowl on her face, clearly unhappy about the situation.
"Actually, we didn't." Dylan confesses, smiling sheepishly. "I just happened to dress up as Peter Pan and she's dressed as Tinkerbell. But it's cool, though. I like it." He adds, glancing at the younger girl and his face lights up when she looked at him with a small shy smile. "Great minds think alike, right?"
Oliver watched them interact, seeing the way Dylan looks at his little sister. The way he smiled at her, how his gaze never left her, and how his face lit up when she smiled back. It was obvious that Dylan had a thing for Dahlia. And the way Dahlia looked at him too, smiling widely and blushing, showed she had a thing for him too. He had never seen his little sister like this, and he wasn't sure what to think about it.
"Okay, Dahlia, I wanna get a selfie with you before I forget. Been taking selfies with everyone here." Gina explains, holding out the polaroid camera she had been holding. She had noticed Oliver was still wary and protective, and she didn't blame him, and decided to change the subject. "Come on." She links her arm with Dahlia, linking her other arm with Oliver as well to pull him away from Dylan. "I'll let Dahlia off the hook soon." She called out to Dylan, who chuckled and smiled back at her. Gina had already gotten a selfie with Dylan earlier so now that Dahlia and Oliver were there she could get a selfie with them.
"Thanks." Dahlia tells her once the three of them were alone. She lets out a breath of relief. "I'm sorry, Ollie. I should've said something. But I wasn't sure how you would react, and I didn't know how to bring it up. And I'm sorry, I should've told you. But really, he's just a friend. That's all."
"It's okay, D." Oliver says, nodding his head. "I just worry, that's all. I don't want anything to happen to you, you're my little sister. I'm always gonna worry about you and be protective. But, he seems like a good guy. Just promise me you'll be careful. Okay?" He pulls her in for a hug, hugging her tightly. "I love you, sis."
"I love you too, bro." Dahlia smiles, hugging him back. "I will. And I'm sorry again." She added, sighing.
"No, it's okay. Really. I was just caught off guard." Oliver shrugged, smiling at her. He knew that Dahlia was growing up, and he had to accept that she would date people and have crushes. It was inevitable and it was a part of life. He just didn't want her to get hurt.
"Okay, let's go take that selfie. Then Dahlia I'll let you go back to him." Gina assured the blonde, smiling and nudging her. She pulled them to an empty space, the three of them huddling close and smiling at the camera.
"Perfect." Gina grins, snapping a few photos before pulling out the photos out of the polaroid, waiting for them to develop. "Okay, Dahls, you can go back to Dylan if you want." She assured her, smiling softly.
"Thanks." Dahlia nodded, smiling back and hurrying back to Dylan.
"I can't help it." Oliver grumbles, sighing heavily. "She's my baby sister. I can't help but be protective." He adds, his lips curving into a frown. "He just better not hurt her. Or else..."
"I'll help you hide the body. Now let's go mingle. Have some fun. Stop worrying. It's Halloween. Relax. Have some fun." Gina urged, linking their arms and pulling him away.
Oliver sighed heavily, reluctantly letting her lead him around the party. He tried to relax and have fun, but he couldn't help the surge of protectiveness and wariness he felt when he looked over at his sister and her apparent crush. He would keep an eye on him, that's for sure.
Gina sighed, glancing at her boyfriend. She was a little annoyed with his attitude. But she understood it, he was just trying to look out for his sister. She just hoped he would relax and ease up. It was just a party. And it was Halloween, the night of spooks and fun. Not the night for worrying and being overprotective. She pulled him over to the side, surprising him when she cupped his face and pulled him in for a passionate kiss.
Oliver's eyes widened in surprise, but he kissed her back. His eyes fluttered shut, his hands falling to her waist and pulling her closer. He could feel the warmth of her body against his, and the world around them faded away for a moment. It was just the two of them, surrounded by the festive chaos of the Halloween party, but all he could focus on was Gina. Her soft lips, her hands on his face, her warm body pressed against his, the feel of her heart beating. All he could feel was her, and it was like they were the only ones in the room.
When the need for air became too great, the two pulled away from the kiss, panting slightly. Oliver's lips curved into a soft smile, his cheeks pink. "What was that for?" He asked, his voice a bit raspy.
"Get you to relax." Gina giggles, brushing her thumb across his cheek. "And because I love you." She added, smiling fondly.
"I love you, too." Oliver says, pressing his forehead against hers. He closes his eyes, his grip tightening slightly on her waist. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be a downer. Just, seeing my little sister with a guy...I'm not used to it. Especially someone I don't know. I just don't want her to get hurt. This is all new. She clearly has a crush on him and, I don't know. Maybe they are just friends, but.."
"They could be more. I know." Gina finishes, nodding in understanding. "But it's her choice. And she's old enough to make her own decisions. We're young, and we make mistakes, and we get our hearts broken. That's just how it is." She tells him, taking his hand and holding it. "All we can do is be there for her and be supportive. And trust her."
"I know, you're right." Oliver sighs, his gaze turning back to his girlfriend. "It's just hard." He mumbles, his gaze turning down to their hands. "I know I should trust her, and I do trust her, it's just hard not being overprotective. But I'll try."
"That's all I ask." Gina smiles, leaning up and pecking his cheek. "And hey, even if it is more than friendship, he's a good kid. He seems respectful, and Dahlia clearly likes him, which is a good sign. Just give him a chance, and maybe you'll see that he's not so bad."
Oliver nods, absorbing her words. "Yeah, I guess you're right. I'll try to keep an open mind. But if he ever hurts her..." His voice trailed off, the protective instinct flaring up again.
Gina laughs softly, squeezing his hand. "Then you can step in, Batman. Just don't scare him off completely. I'm sure he means well."
"Right, right," Oliver concedes, a hint of a smile creeping onto his face. "I'll do my best. For now, I just want her to have a good time. She deserves that."
"Exactly! And you too. You deserve to enjoy this night without worrying about anything else." She encouraged, cupping his face again to pull him back in for another kiss.
Oliver felt a slight ease in his chest as he kissed her back, his eyes closing and arms wrapping around her waist to pull her close. He felt a wave of warmth wash over him, the tension from earlier dissipating with each gentle caress of her lips. The sounds of laughter and music from the party faded into the background, leaving only the sweet sensation of their connection.
When they finally pulled apart, the two teens were breathless and flushed. Gina smiled brightly, her cheeks rosy and eyes sparkling with happiness. Oliver returned her smile, a light chuckle escaping him as he tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear.
"Better?" Gina asked, her lips curved into a grin.
"Much." Oliver replies, his eyes twinkling. "You always know how to make me feel better."
"It's a gift." Gina giggles, lacing her fingers with his and resting her head against his shoulder. "Now let's go enjoy this party."
"Whatever you say, baby." Oliver smiled, placing a kiss on her head and allowing her to pull him into the throng of partygoers. He could feel the worries of earlier begin to fade away, replaced by a sense of contentment and joy. He glanced over at his little sister, smiling to himself as he saw her laughing and chatting happily with Dylan. He didn't want to interfere, he didn't want to be the overprotective older brother. He wanted his sister to be happy. And it seemed like Dylan was making her happy. So, he was going to let them have their moment. Besides, somehow an amazing girl had fallen in love with him and had stayed by his side. And right now, all he wanted to do was enjoy her company. So that's what he did. He focused on his wonderful girlfriend and let the rest of the world fall away. It was easy though when he focused on just her. Everything else faded away and he felt like they were in their own little bubble, surrounded by laughter and festive decorations but untouched by the chaos of the party.

"Hey, there's your Batman!" Ashlyn's voice interrupts his thoughts and he looks over at the red-head to see her walking over to them with a bright smile. "You guys look so cute with the matching costumes. Want me to get a picture of you guys together?"
Oliver shares a smile with Gina. "Yeah, sure. Thanks, Ash." Oliver smiled at the red head as Gina handed her polaroid to Ashlyn.
"No problem!" Ashlyn grins, holding up the polaroid and gesturing for the two to get close. "Alright, pose for the camera." She instructs, watching as the two posed. Oliver had his arms crossed as he glanced at Gina with a loving smile. She returned the smile, her arm wrapping around his shoulders. Ashlyn takes the photo, grinning at the couple. "Okay, got it!" The red head announces. "You guys look great together." She handed the camera and the photo back to Gina.
"Thanks, Ash." Gina smiles, looking at the photo. "We do look great together." She agreed, smiling widely once the photo developed. She turned to Oliver to kiss his cheek, who blushed and smiled shyly.
Ashlyn watched the two with a soft smile, thinking they were so cute together. "You look great, Ash." Oliver comments, looking at her with a smile. Then he looks confused. "But, uh, what is your costume?"
"Hot Eleanor Roosevelt!" Ashlyn said in an obvious tone. "Duh."
"Right, duh." Oliver said in a sarcastic tone, making her glare. "Kidding, kidding." He raises his hands up in surrender. "It looks great, though." He added.
"Thanks." Ashlyn grinned.
"Hello." The trio glanced over when someone greeted them and saw Carlos had walked over to them. Oliver raised his eyebrow at his costume. He was wearing all black and even had a fake raven on his shoulder.
"Okay. Did a Pretty Little Liar die or did something happen with Seb?" Gina inquired, furrowing her eyebrows.
"Seb, of course. He still refuses to talk to me, so I can only assume we are B-U-R-N-T." Carlos confessed with a frown.
Oliver shares a confused look with the girls. "Burnt?" He repeated, tilting his head.
"Which stands for 'broken up right now, thank you'." Carlos explain and Oliver nods slowly, pretending to understand, though he was still a bit lost. "Therefore, I am Death tonight."
"Awe, come here." Ashlyn smiled sympathetically, outstretching her arm to him for a hug.
"Oh, watch the raven." Carlos warns, stopping the hug. "Oh, who cares? I need a hug." He pouted, pulling the trio into a hug.
"Awe, you'll be okay." Gina reassured him.
"Happy Halloween!" Maddox's voice filled the room followed by her brother's voice.
"What's up?" Jett called out and everyone greeted the two in response.
"Wow, you look great!" Ashlyn exclaims, grinning at Maddox once the trio pulled away from the hug with Carlos. Ashlyn glances at Gina and Oliver nervously. "Was I yelling?" She muttered to them.
"Just a bit, Ash." Oliver teased, chuckling and patting her shoulder.
"Um, what are you guys?" Carlos questioned, staring at the sibling's costume with confusion.
"Do you guys really not know?" Oliver gasps, staring at his girlfriend and friends with disbelief. "Don't tell me you never seen 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings'? That movie is awesome!"
"Exactly!" Jet agreed, grinning and pointing at him. When Gina and the others continued to look confused and shook their heads, Maddox shook her head at them in disappointment.
"Yeah, okay, well, we're gonna need to fix that, because Mille Yech." She chuckles. She glances at Ashlyn, smiling as she noticed her costume. "Oh, hey! Hot Eleanor Roosevelt."
Ashlyn looks surprised, her eyes widening as she smiles widely. "You got that? Of course you got that." After realizing she sounded too excited and giddy, she quickly adds, "I'm chill."
Oliver chuckles, looking at his friend with amusement. "So chill." He nudged her playfully as Ashlyn rolled her eyes at him.
When there was a sudden whistle, everyone looks over at the stairs to see Ricky had arrived. Oliver realized he went as Zac Efron's character from Baywatch and he chuckles. He wasn't surprised. Ricky raises his arms with a grin. "Lets get this starty parted!" Realizing he said it wrong, he grimaces. "No. Let me come in again, sorry." He apologized and walked back down the stairs.
"And that's my best friend." Oliver mutters, chuckling along with Gina and the others. Ricky came back up, this time pretending to be swimming. "Ricky, you're such a dork." He called out with a laugh, shaking his head at him.
"Okay, is this like a Zac Efron deep cut?" Gina teased, glancing at Ricky.
"I literally can't wait to explain this to you guys." Ricky replied, grinning at his friends as he made his way over to them.
At the sound of a sudden doorbell, Gina perks up. "Oh my gosh, I think that's our first trick-or-treater!" She shrieked excitedly, quickly walking over to grab the bowl of candy.
"In the attic?" Carlos questioned, confusion laced in his voice.
"Yeah," Oliver agrees. "Kinda weird, babe." He added.
"I made signage." Gina defends herself, turning to the trick-or-treater with a bright smile when they walked in. Oliver raises his eyebrows, standing straighter. The person had a pumpkin head mask on along with a white robe. "Hello." Gina greeted cheerfully, offering the bowl of candy to them. They pick one out as Gina glanced over at Oliver and the others with slight confusion. The person didn't have a bag with them like treat-or-treaters do.
"Hey, little tall guy." Ricky nervously greets when they walked over to them. Oliver stood up straighter, crossing his arms as he narrowed his eyes at the strange trick-or-treater. "Where's your candy bag?" Ricky questioned.
Oliver glances over at Gina, who looked just as confused and nervous as the others. She even mouths 'what' to him and he shrugs his shoulders in response, shaking his head. "Buddy?" Ricky tried again, but the trick-or-treater remained silent as they walked over to Carlos, who looked terrified when they stood in front of him. Oliver squared his shoulders, ready to defend his girlfriend and friends if needed. He noticed Jet had stepped back and raised his arms up in a defensive position too. Oliver didn't blame him. This person was creepy.
"Are you lost?" Ricky asked, but once again he got no answer. The trick-or-treater reached his hand out to Carlos, revealing a sucker he got from Gina.
Carlos chuckles nervously. "Oh." He picks it up, chuckling nervously and forcing a smile as the trick-or-treater seemed pleased with his response. The person then turns and leaves the room while Carlos turns to his friends. "I'm scared!"
