Chapter 8

§Zane's POV§

The cold air nipped my face as I left the coffee shop, my steaming hot cocoa still locked in my hand. Travis walked besides me, his backpack hung loosely from his shoulder. He smiled at me before we walked to the sidewalk that lingered besides snow covered road. "Hey. Since it's friday do you think I could spend the night?" He asked, turning over to me.

I nodded, pulling out my scarf from my jett black backpack. "Sure." I agreed, looking down the sidewalk.

"Thanks Zuzu~" He sang in mockery.

"Don't call me that." I shot back making him snicker. Travis slipped his hand in his pocket, pulling out his phone. The phone was black with white and green lines running through each other to make a beautiful pattern. He slid his finger over the screen and clicked on the caller icon. Soon he placed his phone besides his ear as we continued to walk. "Hey pops!" He chirped into the phone.

I felt envy spark inside me, Why did my dad leave? I know he didn't care, but he didn't even show to mom's funeral. I wrinkled my nose in disgust as we continued to walk. Travis told his father how he'd be spending the night and all.

I reached for my neck, grasping onto the gray scarf that hung around my neck. I pulled it upwards, completely covering my mouth and nose. I tilted my head so i looked at the ground, watching the gray stone clash in with our feet. We sent snow flying with each step we took. A chilling wind swayed my hair, revealing my right eye.

We arrived at my house. I placed my key inside the door knob, twisting it slightly. The door creaked as it slightly opened waiting for me to open it fulling. I pressed my fingertips against the wooden door slightly. Revealing my dim hallway. No lights were on except for one that shone from Garroth's bedroom located besides the stairway.

I looked over to Travis who had a smirk glued onto his face as we stared at the door. We slowly stalked towards it, not taking off our shoes. I harshly slammed my foot into the door, kicking it open. Inside was probably the best sight i've ever seen.

Laurence sat in a black spinning chair that was in front of Garroth's wooden desk. Laurence's gray laptop, that was splattered with a variety of stickers, laid atop the desk with a small blue light illuminated  from the screen. Garroth sat in his lap, watching the screen as well as giving Laurence a million kisses on his face. Laurence returned the kisses and tucked his nose in the crook of Garroth's neck.

Garroth fell out of his lap, crashing into the snow white carpet that was pinned down to the ground, almost instantly after I kicked the door open. "I knew you too were dating!" I exclaimed, tugging my scarf down to show my mouth.

Laurence opened his mouth to decline the statement but Travis cut him off. "And don't you dare say 'It's not what it looks like.'!" Travis chuckled evilly while doing air quotes.

Garroth's face flushed red as he stood up, clutching his elbow with the palm of his hand in. "Y-you're r-right..." He mumbled looking to be on the verge of tears. Both me and Travis cheered and clapped at his statement.

Laurence titled his head, sending his brown locks to brush over his forehead. "And you don't mind?" He asked, narrowing his eyes in disbelief.

I nodded my head while looking at both of them. "As long as you make my brother happy....I won't mind." I soothed with a gentle smile forming on my face.

Laurence immediately shot upwards, sending the chair flying across the room. He embraced me in a hug and soon Garroth joined in too. "Thank you!" Laurence declared, both him and my brother tightening their grip on my boney body. I gulped, trying to push them away but only failed. I groaned in annoyance and went limp. Allowing them to hug me longer.

I hate being short...
