Chapter 6
§Zane's POV§
I sat in the quiet library, taking in every word of my book, which I held pressed against the table that sat in front of me. I quietly hummed an Alexander Hamilton song in my head as I read farther.
"Heyyy Zane..." A voice from behind me greeted. I blinked, my eyelashes brushing over my cheek bones. I looked over my shoulder, my black hair brushing over my face.
Travis stood behind me, holding an Alexander Hamilton textbook close to his chest as he smiled nervously. I gave him a blank stare. "What?" I spat, sounding much meaner than I intended.
He flinched against my words but nonetheless he sat down in the birch chair besides me. Travis sighed, chilling air escaped from his open mouth. He placed his book besides mine, and I realized its the same book. The two books were red with the words Alexander Hamilton printed into them. They pages had a golden outline, making them smooth to run your fingers over.
I frowned, and looked back up at him. "You want me to give you all my notes. Don't you?"
He shook his head then he made a small 'Pfft' noise before replying. "I want you to help me!" He chuckled.
I raised an eyebrow. "Like a tutor?"
He nodded eagerly while smiling. "Yep!" He yelped happily.
I reclined backwards with a confused look. "Why are you being nice to me...?"
Travis's happy smile faded, he lowered his voice to make sure no one around could hear. "I saw you and brothers at the graveyard a few days ago..."
I felt as if my world completely stopped. I looked at my lap, trying to hold back my tears.
"Why didn't you tell anyone? We would of comfort to you!" He whispered and I felt a rush of anger pour through me.
"Oh like you'd you do that." I spat, wrinkling my nose as I looked back up at him.
His white hair moved as he shook his head. "I really would of." He smiled becoming calm again.
I rolled my blue eyes, taking in small picture of the room around us. "Like the guy who makes fun of me cares about me."
I flinched, feeling his hands pressed down on my shoulders. My eyes widened as he pulled his face a little closer to mine. "I do!"
I pushed him away with a loud huff, sending a shot of my mint breath to Travis. "That's a lie..." I spoke, looking back down to the ground. I clutched my elbow in the palm of my hand. "No one does..." I mumbled.
"Well I'm gonna change that! From here on, Zane Ro'mave you are now my friend!" Travis declared, his voice echoing throughout the room. My pale face flushed red as all heads snapped towards the two of us.
"F-Fine just stop yelling!" I shouted angrily spat, reaching towards my book. "Turn to page 43!"

(I wrote the last part really late at night and it's lacking in detail.. So sorry....)
§Travis's POV§
I stared at Zane as he talked. His rose colored lips moved softly, slightly clinging to each other with each word he spoke.
I couldn't help but remember what his breath smelt like. It tasted and smelt like mint. For some reason I wanted to feel his lips pressed against mine.... Just the thought made me smile.
"Travis! Are you even paying attention?!" Zane snapped, as he clapped his two hands in front of me. I flinched, stumbling back in my own seat. Almost about to falling over. I sighed, feeling the chair's legs began to stable.
I looked back towards Zane, his eyes burning with annoyance. "What on earth were you starring at? Some girls butt?" He asked but his tone lightened a bit.
I blinked, the light coming from the room's shinning windows made his smile seem real...
"Pffft...Of course not." I scoffed looking back down at the book.
"I don't get it..." Zane mumbled from besides me. I looked up at him a confused look.
"W-What?" I asked, feeling uneasy. I felt like my whole world was ending at his signal statement...
"You flirting. It's just... Dumb. It's like you believe that woman will think your nothing so you've been forcing yourself to do just to be noticed..." I stared at him, his blue eyes burning full of sorrow. Was he sad...?
I sighed, taking in the smell of the room. Ink and paper flooded my senses as I breathed. "Okay, so then what do you think...I mean, how would you fall for someone?" I mumbled, intertwining my fingers that sat in my lap.
He pondered for a moment before answering. "I'd fall for someone who would always be there for me, someone who I would tell everything without a doubt, Someone who would love me for me and who will care more about how I look and act. Someone who would actually take the time to get to know me, to want to..." He flashed me a gentle smile before turning back to book.
A small smile fell across my face as he read more and begun to explaining more about Aaron burr to me.
I think I will always be there
