CHAPTER 2

I walked into my P.E. class after getting changed into my gym uniform and a bunch of people were staring at me. I can tell you this much, I don't usually get awkward when people look at me, but that time it was weird.

I walked over and sat down on the bleachers next to my friend Alicia. "Hey Ali... why is everybody looking at me and laughing?"

She responded, "Well, first of all, it's more of a chuckle. I'd tell you if I knew. Sorry Mel."

Then some smart ass in our class decided to speak up. "Yo Amelia! I heard you're gonna finally start hittin them books. Maybe you'll finally be able to multiply fractions."

"Yo Isaac! Shut the hell up and use proper grammar!" Alicia yelled back. "So I guess they're talking about your tutor.. Have you picked one out yet?"

I shrugged. "They kinda just chose one for me because I didn't want a tutor. I start after school today."

"Boy or girl?"

"I think a boy. And don't ask me if he's cute because I don't know."

"Okay. Okay," Ali said, putting her hands up, as if surrendering.

I was really worried about who I was going to have. There were only a few hours before the day would be over then I'd have to go to the main office to meet my geek and become their student slave. I'd follow him to the library, we'd sit down at a table and I'd awkwardly stare at him and any strange hand gestures he made, then eventually pass out. Pointless.

The school day was over and it was time for me to go to my session. Ha! Did the principal and everybody else forget that I don't take school seriously? My ass was outta that prison within 5 minutes. I was ditching.
