Chapter 55:
Ten minutes later, Ezra pulled into the parking lot of the local park. I wasn't sure where he was driving us to when I got in the car with him, but this was not what I was expecting. We hadn't spoken a word since the parking lot and the silence was maddening. He pulled into a spot and parked the car before climbing out.
I had to run to keep up with his long legs. He headed towards one of the many walking trails around the lake in the center of the park.
"Where are we going?" I asked him as I ran behind him.
"Going for a walk." He said sharply. "Keep up."
"Ezra, please. Let's just go sit somewhere and talk." I grabbed at his arm and begged him to stop.
"Riley, that's what I am doing. There is a picnic shelter a little way down where we can talk. No one ever comes down here."
"Oh." I fought to keep caught up to him. It wasn't fair that his legs were twice as long as mine.
After a few silent minutes, we got to a clearing and I could see the picnic shelter pop up in front of us. I paused and looked around. Ezra was right. It was completely deserted; there was not a soul in sight.
Ezra reached for my hand and started to drag me towards the shelter. He looked around quickly before heading towards the bathroom that was attached to the building.
"What are you doing?" I asked nervously. He was too quiet and I was starting to get worried. His mood swings were starting to scare me. He had always been up and down, but they seemed so much worse now. He felt so unstable and unpredictable.
When we got to the door of the restroom, he pushed it open and pulled me inside. His hand went up and locked the door before he turned and looked at me with his wild bloodshot eyes. He was breathing hard as he looked down at me.
"Tell me you love me." He said softly.
"Wait. What?" My mouth was hanging open in shock.
"Fucking say it, Riley." He hissed at me.
I shook my head in disbelief as I looked up at him. Even if it was true, I couldn't let myself be vulnerable to him again by admitting it. I loved this insane, jealous, moody boy more than I cared for myself. I was in so deep with him. I would have let him bleed me dry and then begged for him to cut into me again.
"I can't." I stepped away from him and reached my hand up to unlock the door to leave.
He grabbed me and pushed me back against the wall. He looked down into my eyes and grabbed the back of my head and forced his lips against mine. He pushed his tongue, hungrily into my mouth and moved his hands down to unbutton my shorts. I felt the moisture growing as his fingertips desperately fumbled against my skin. We were supposed to be talking; this was not even close. We were never going to get anywhere at this rate.
"What are you doing?" I asked, pulling my mouth from his. He looked down at his hands as he pulled my shorts and panties down from my hips.
"Shut up." He growled as he unbuttoned his pants and pulled them down far enough to pull himself out. He lifted me up on the sink and spread my legs to stand between them.
"Do you want this?" He asked looking down.
I nodded.
I didn't understand why my body felt like it needed him this way. Ezra was literally driving me insane and turning me into someone I didn't even recognize.
Who was I anymore?
My body ignited when Ezra pushed himself inside me. I used my hands to keep myself from falling while he buried himself into me. His pace was hard and aggressive; he was pounding every inch of himself into me like he wanted to hurt me.
He moved his hand to my neck and squeezed lightly while staring into my eyes. My mouth opened and I moaned for him when his ring hit my spot again and again. He kept his large hand around my neck as his body began to tense with his release.
My eyes closed and my body began to shake as all my nerve endings wanted to explode.
"Look at me, Riley." He commanded, adding more pressure to my neck. My eyes flew open to see his locked on my face. His pace was quickening as he continued to slam into me. He looked down where our bodies met and my eyes followed his. His body was twitching and signaling he was about to finish. "Keep watching Riley." He panted. "Watch me come inside you."
"Ezra." I screamed as he slammed his ring into my spot and released himself in me. My body tightened within seconds around him and I almost fell off the sink. The only thing holding me up was the dark-haired boy who had his hand around my neck.
He leaned his forehead to mine and removed his hand from my throat. His hand moved to the back of my head, rubbing it tenderly. I laid my head on his chest and closed my eyes, surrendering to him. I had missed him even if he did hurt me. He breathed into me like he had missed me too.
He backed away from me just as quickly as it started and moved his hands to button his pants back up. I was still sitting on the edge of the sink, trying to catch my breath.
Ezra looked up and saw me not moving.
"Get dressed." His tone was flat and emotionless. The little glimpse of hope I had fell away when his anger came back.
I turned my head and stared at him in enraged confusion. My temper was building and I was beyond frustrated with his erratic behavior. Up and down, back and forth. Being with him was like riding a rollercoaster that didn't know if it should go forwards or backwards. I wanted off this ride.
"Get your ass up." He commanded again. When I didn't move, he moved his hands to his hair and pulled it in exasperation. "You are so damn stubborn."
"Why are you being like this?" I asked him as I finally jumped down from the sink. I hurriedly pulled my shorts up over my hips and fastened them. I wished I had time to clean myself up before he picked another fight with me. I could still feel Ezra between my legs. A couple of weeks ago, it would have made me want him more. Right now, it was a reminder of how wrong this situation was.
"You know what you are doing to me, Riley. You know you are trying to trap me with this baby." There it was. He finally showed his hand. He thought I was doing this on purpose to keep him around.
"Ezra, I would have never done that to you. I told you if you wanted out, then no one had to know it was yours. We were just having fun. This wasn't supposed to be like this. I didn't know we were going to end up in a relationship." My voice was too high and strained. I was so furious at him right now. This was how it always was with him. He sleeps with me and then snaps little pieces of me off bit by bit, grinding them down in the dirt so I can't ever glue them back together.
"Relationship?" He questioned, laughing. "You think this was a fucking relationship?" He laughed again at me.
"Then, what is this?" A small tear escaped my eyes. "Quit trying to act like what happened between us meant nothing to you. You said you loved me. You said it first. I never asked you to say it."
He lowered his eyes at me and strode closer to me. "I was bored and you were always there. It was so easy. You were ready for me the second you saw me. I should have known better than to fuck a needy little girl. Your type is always so clingy."
My hand came in contact with the side of his face for the second time in the last week. I didn't even know I was going to hit him until after it happened. He rubbed his cheek while staring down at me with wide eyes. A bright red handprint was forming on his skin.
He began laughing at me again and I ran for the door to get as far away from him as I could. He was cruel and knew how to hurt me.
"How are you getting home, Ry?" He taunted me.
"Don't worry. I'll find a way." I said, unlocking the door and ripping it open.
"Let me guess, Aiden's already in the parking lot waiting for you. You might as well blow him and put him out of his misery." Ezra spat his venom at me.
I turned around one last time in disbelief. "I already have."
"I don't believe you." Ezra's face changed, his cocky arrogance fell away and he looked unsure.
"He likes me when I am on my knees, begging for it in my mouth." I wanted to hurt him because I didn't know what else to do. I was wrong for doing this and feeding into this ugly, twisted mess.
"Don't fucking say that." Ezra's eyes began to tear up.
"Why are you so upset? You and I are not in a relationship." I pushed further.
His hand wiped at his eyes as the tears spilled down his cheeks. This argument went way too far. We were purposefully trying to tear into each other because it was easier this way. I walked back over to him and tried to comfort him.
"Get out." He barked and pushed me away from him.
The warm summer air hit my face the moment I ran out the door. The humidity in the air choked me as I walked quickly up the trail, trying to find the exit. I heard the door open behind me. Ezra would catch up to me soon. He always did; there was no getting away from him. I wished I had a better escape route than this, but I had to settle on finding the parking lot for now.
By the time I made it to the clearing, Ezra had moved in close behind me. I walked past his car and was headed towards the main road. There was a little sidewalk on the side of the road and I began walking in the direction of my parent's house. It would be a long walk, but it was better than getting in a car with Ezra. I could hear the roar of an engine right behind me. Ezra pulled his car up next to me and paced me while I was walking.
"Get in the car." He demanded.
"Nope."
"Just get in and I will take you home."
"Not happening."
"Riley, it's like ten miles to your house and you're pregnant. Don't be ridiculous." His voice was hardening like he thought I was going to obey him. I stopped talking to him and continued walking along the sidewalk, he drove next to me slowly and I heard the sound of cars blaring their horns. There was a line of cars forming behind him. A few decided to go around him and squealed their tires as they drove past him.
"I've got all day Ry. I will drive next to you and keep this whole line of cars behind me the whole way until you get home." There was no way he was serious. Another car passed him and blared its horn. Ezra turned and waved as they flipped him off. I would have laughed at him if I wasn't in such a bad mood. He softened a bit when he realized he had caught my attention.
"Please let me take you home. I promise I will behave." He whipped out his thick sugary sweet voice.
My hands went to my face and I pulled my hair in frustration. I stomped towards the passenger side and pulled the door open. I didn't want to be with him, but walking the whole way wasn't a much better option. I pulled on my seatbelt and crossed my arms over my chest. He may have convinced me to get in the car with him, but I wasn't going to talk to him the rest of the way home either.
When we pulled up to my house a few minutes later, I was relieved when I saw JD walking up the stairs. He turned and looked back at us in confusion. There was no reason I could think of to explain to him why I was in Ezra's car alone with him. He walked down the stairs towards us as I climbed out of the car.
"Hey, you two." JD said as Ezra got out of the car to follow me. JD's brows drew together when he saw the tension between us. "Did you guys go hang out or something today?"
"She was hanging out with Brynn and Aiden. I dropped in and rescued her." Ezra smoothly lied to my brother. I don't know why this had become the acceptable thing to do. We should have just started telling him the truth.
"Didn't you two fight the last time you saw each other?" JD asked skeptically.
"Yeah, I apologized. I was picking at her. I deserved it." Ezra turned on his charm again.
"You good, Ry?" JD asked me this time for my side of the story.
"Yep, thanks for clearing things up for me today, Ezra." I jabbed at him one last time before storming into the house and heading to my room. I laid in bed and sobbed again over the boy who did everything he could to break me.
