This doodle is for you guys in chapter 5.

It's sort of a happy thing for you guys since we have some bad news at the end of this chapter.

[[Overlord]]
___________

You looked to Grillby and smiled a little, a bit of fear nipped at your soul but you hid it well, since (as said before) you were so good at hiding your emotions when you wanted to. Undyne had her guards divide all of the monsters into 3 sections.

Long ranged combat, Advantage practices aka magic and Hand to hand combat.

You and Grillby were in the same section, along with Froggit, but that was only because he was safely tucked in your back pack. Your division was first for Advantage practices.

You weren't exactly excited for this one since magic wasn't something you had willy nilly. So instead of letting Chara take over in this incredibly populated area that consists of on edge monsters with weapons, you watched Grillby working on his aim to roast some targets.

About an hour passed with that and you ended up just learning how many times you could kick a rock with your metal foot before it got a dent in it.

You gave Grillby a quick high five, as to not have too much skin touching him for too long. Next was hand to hand combat "We're gonna kick some ass!" You said with a smile and a tinge of spite.

You clapped and cheered as Grillby was called to one of the fighting circles, he didn't have much time to prepare because as soon as everyone heard his name they pushed him quickly through to the middle of the small clearing. In fact they were pushing so hard all he really had to do was lean back a little and use absolutely no effort at all.

As Grillby was shoved in he stumbled slightly, but quickly regained his balance and stood straight up with his impeccable posture, straightening out his black tie.

He looked around confused, trying to figure out who he was going to fight. Turns out he was facing off against a dog. Grillby adjusted his glasses to make sure he wasn't seeing things, and once he was sure it was a little sleeping dog his flamey face contorted in suppressed laughter. He slapped a hand over his nonexistent mouth and chuckled as quietly as possible.

You threw your hand in the air supportively "Yeah!! GO GRILLBY!!" Froggit who sat on your shoulder winced slightly at your loud voice and only stared, clearly uninterested in the fight about to take place.

He turned to you and you then pointed at the little white dog as if it was a joke. You just shrugged along with him, smiling amused until you noticed a shadow looming over the flame man. Uneasily you looked passed him at the dog which was sleeping a moment ago but now equipped with a large, daunting suit of metal armour. You gaped at it, you had seen it from across a room when you were staying at Grillbys, but it looked a lot more menacing up close and ready for a fight.

The dogs beady eyes seemed to look more sinister, even if they were looking opposite directions.

Froggits eyes widened as he sat up and stared at what Grillby had to fight. An interested smile crept onto his face.

Grillby still hadn't noticed it yet, but saw your expression and frowned, clearly confused. Undyne walked briskly past the fighting circle and yelled "Fight!"

Just as Grillby looked back at the dog his face was met with a forceful, large metal fist. It  had so much momentum your flamey friend flew across the circle. Your arm then fell to your side as you looked at Grillby in disbelief, The whole small crowd who didn't have to fight yet cheered loudly and excitedly, even Froggit cheered in joy.

Backstabber.

You frowned then yelled "C'mon Grillbz! You can take take this guy!! He's just a dog with a metal suit!!"

He shakily stood up and looked down at his now soiled uniform on which he had spent a good two hours cleaning the stains and ironing it, whilst careful not to catch it on fire. He looked to you through cracked lenses. He frowned, as his fire blazed up.

Calmly he stood and took his broken glasses off his face, folded them, and gently placed them in his shirt pocket. Greater dog wagged his tail and charged at Grillby. But he was ready this time, and super pissed. He glared at the happy and oblivious dog as he jumped out of the way with mere milliseconds to spare. The small crowd moved out of the way as the dog charged into them.

"YEAH GRILLBY!!!!" You screamed happily and punched the air, making Froggit almost fall off, but luckily for him he grabbed ahold of Ike's toque to keep him from hitting the ground. "Watch it Y/n!" He said irritatedly as he climbed back on, but his eyes never left the fight.

Grillby whipped around and went to punch the dog's armour with the intention of burning it to smithereens. But when his fist came into contact with the back of the dogs suit... Nothing happened, he just stood there as his rage started to change to concern for his well being.

Of course it was fire proof.

The dog turned around and looked down at Grillby, it's stare wasn't all that scary but the strange ways it's eyes pointed just seemed like they didn't care what was going on was so goddamn creepy.

It's tongue popped out for a moment then it jumped and took a belly flop position in the air, intending to crush Grillby.

And to your horror, it did crush him. Only his hand was sticking out from under the large dog and it was no longer making an effort to push the dog off after a few futile attempts. His hand began to lose its bright orange colour, dimming down to a soft red glow.

Oh shit! I didn't actually see that coming. HAHAHAAA!! I can't believe it!!!

You started in shock as the crowd went quiet, a monster even called Undyne and Sans over for help.

Froggit was blinking hard at what just happened "I thought this was suppose to help us not kill us!!" He yelled angrily towards Undyne as she walked passed him and you towards Greater dog. She didn't pass up the chance to shoot you and Froggit a deathly glare though. Sans shuffled through the crowd lazily until he saw the dog laying on Grillby, wagging its tail cluelessly.

His eye sockets widened in shock and he picked up his pace.

But before he or Undyne could rip greater dog away, flames suddenly burst out from where his hand was and he re-appeared beside the dog. He was blazing an angry yellow and stared at his opponent for a moment before roughly grabbing the dog out of the suit by the scruff of its neck. However he made sure to quickly throw it to Sans as to not make it catch fire, but even with that short touch, he had badly singed its fur.

You slapped your hands atop your head "Holy shit!!" You yelled as Grillby looked back at you, he seemed to look a little embarrassed as his abnormally huge flames died down to normal and began to curl again, instead of blazing out like a blow torch.

You ran up to him with an excited aura "Grillby! I totally thought you just died or something! That was insane!! You just slipped outta there like butter!! And that you were HUGE!" He smiled bashfully and looked down, poking at the dirt with the toe of his no longer polished looking shoe.

Sans looked between you and Grillby and frowned slightly, pushing the little white dog into Undynes hands and stalked off.

He didn't want to watch as another one of his friends get sucked into your smart ass comments and witty personality and infectious smile...

Sans stopped for a moment and looked back at you gushing over Grillby, while he happily laughed and scratched the back of his neck.

Sans was still beyond angry at what you had said to his brother, but as much as he hated to admit it, you had a point. It bugged him to no end that he wasn't the one to protect Papyrus because he was scared of hurting his feelings.

And what made it worse was he admired your ability to put your foot down for others safety. It gave you an honest aura, it was assuring in a way to know you didn't sugar coat when it came down to it.

He still hated what you said and most likely would never be able to get over it. But the thought of you thinking he hated you made his heart ache and it didn't help that Grillby was such a nice guy to everyone, especially you.

He sighed and kept walking, but made sure he was still able to see you from where he was standing, pretending to do something else... Like what he was supposed to be doing (Long Range)

Sans knew it was petty to be angry at you but still be mad you aren't with him, and he hated it. So he decided to keep an eye socket on you and let himself be a petty piece of trash.

You had managed well against your opponent without letting Chara take over. However you had to face the fact that you weren't all that good at fighting with out all the sick ass upgrades you got when you did let that child take over.

The metal foot really didn't do you any favours either.

Luckily your opponent wasn't much better. They were agile as fuck, and you were ninty percent sure it was the drunk Bunny you'd seen back at Grillbys, but they had no power behind their hits. It took a good ten minutes before you could get a hold of them and pin them down, you both swung some mean punches at each other.

They finally landed a good hit on you, leaving you slightly stunned then they kicked you off with their giant ass feet.

You were in the air for a good seconds until you crashed against the ground, plumes of dust blinked from you rolling across it. This made the small crowd watching cringe.

It hurt, but it looked worse than it was.

Dizzily you pulled your head up to see Ike's toque laying in the haze off of your head. Panic shot through you when looking back to the usually drunk bunny in mid pounce.

With wide eyes you snatched up the hat and rolled out of the way. He missed you by a hair and faceplanted into the ground, getting quite a bit of dirt in his mouth.

You sat up and smirked, placing the toque back on your head. The bunny was clearly getting tired of this and his tolerance for you had dwindled immensely.

He growled and dashed towards you, who wore a taunting smirk.

Without a second thought you leaned back and your metal leg shot up, kicking him right between the legs with devastating results.

The force was so much and so sudden he didn't have time to slow down and feel the pain till he was flying overhead and landed in the dirt behind you. A whimper could be heard and his hand held his crotch in pain.

Tears well in his eyes as the other hand slammed against the ground, trying to vent while simultaneously signalling he was done with this fight.

A happy grin broke across your face as you jumped up and down. You did feel sorta bad about his junk, but you were busy celebrating your victory and apologizing to him in this sad state would just kill your proud vibes.

God knows how badly you need them.

You bounded over to Grillby and Froggit with your toques pompom bouncing around. You scooped Froggit up and hugged him tightly (because you knew it bugged the shit outta him) and high fived Grillby. A careful high five of course.

"I wrecked that guy!" You exclaimed excitedly. Grillby nodded slowly and calmly with a small grin that was only visible by his white hot eyes squishing up. Froggit grumbled while being held in your arms.

You looked down at him in your arms with a raised brow "What?" He groaned and looked up at you, the side of his wide mouth was tugged up slightly "you kicked ass."

All three of you laughed, enjoying the moment, despite the looming war. Until Undyne called Grillbys name again to fight. He sighed, readjusting his glasses then walked waving goodbye to you and Froggit.

"Their gonna be toast when you're done with them!" You called after him in support, the accidental joke made him shake his head at you, but a smile managed to place itself on his flaming face.

You sighed and looked down to Froggit who intern looked at you. You turned around only to come face to hip with a tall monster.

Your heart dropped and your mouth went dry. Hesitantly you looked up to see Papyrus, he looked as uncomfortable as you felt.

"H-Hello y/n."

His uncharacteristically quiet tone sent waves of guilt through your significantly shorter body "uh... Hi Papyrus, what can I do for you?" You asked, awkwardly shifting around, hoping to anything that Sans or Undyne didn't see you.

You definitely did not expect this to happen. You had thought of a million ways to fight off Sans, Undyne and even Whimsy, but it didn't even cross your mind to think of a way to ward off Papyrus.

"I just wanted to ask if I had upset you in any way to make you say those things." He spoke softly, not meeting your eyes and fixating his on the ground, where his superhero boot was.

You wish you could say yes, that your harsh words were provoked in some way to take the blame off of you, but alas that simply wasn't so.

"No." You said simply.

"Oh..." He frowned, blinking quite a bit. "So it wasn't just to hurt me."

You shook your head slowly "No."

He breathed in a shaky breath. "It was true then?"

Your heart started to break and you found yourself starting to blink a lot too. "Yes."

He looked down again, he was quiet for a long time, so long you began to think he was frozen. The he looked back at you with watering eye sockets. He wiped them roughly "Well, thank you for telling me the truth."

With that he left.

The rest of the day was a blur. Filled with training and fighting and skill building. While your body was doing all of this, you stayed out of contact with the world around you as much as you possibly could. Oblivious and numb. You couldn't believe he thanked you...

You couldn't stop replaying the moment over and over in your head.

Even well into the night, when the monsters had all crowded into the halls of Asgore's castle to sleep, you still found yourself thinking deeply about it.

A bunch of small blankets where strewn out amongst the crowd to rest down and go to sleep.

Oil lamps flickered their soft glow along walls, floors and faces (the ceilings were so high the light only skimmed them, giving it barely a lighter tone). It was the last light for the monsters, telling everyone it was time to be quiet and rest for the night.

They whispered to each other. They huddled around lamps and quietly spoke about their shared, dire situation with grave looks. Some comforted each other or simply bid each other a good nights sleep.

You sat by your bag on top of a padded window sill that looked out on the darkened fighting field. Much of the ground was romped up and kicked around roughly, making the earthy ground look like rolling waves in a deep pond, breeze pushing it along.

Your mind continued to mull over the conversation you had with Papyrus, and you didn't know what to think about it, him thanking you was the last thing you'd expect from anyone, him especially.

A conflicted sigh escaped you as you took Ike's hat off only to stare at it. It was times like these you could really use a friend, sure Grillby was nice enough, but talking to him was a bit too one sided for your tastes, and Froggit was just a cynical asshat that disliked pretty much everything so talking with him usually was best when you weren't feeling sensitive or really any emotions. You still loved them, but times like these when you felt this terrible, only Ike could fix it.

A deep pain bloomed in your heart as longing once again resurfaced. The wound was still fresh and things have been moving so quickly that grieving Ike was barely an option.

Pressing the battered toque to your chest you sighed, trying to keep yourself occupied. You absentmindedly played around with the strings, slipping and tangling them through your fingers multiple times while intently watching the hypnotizing rolling land.

"Ahem..."

You jolted from your distressed peace and swiftly turned your head towards the voice you knew rather well.

Eyes widened, you stared up at the chill skeleton who held a blanket folded over his shoulder. An eyebrow raised in suspicion, but inside you just cringed, hoping to God he wasn't here about Papyrus.

"Uh... Hi." You said in confused shock.

He wordlessly settled down beside you with his back resting on the window. He huffed into his jackets fur and looked down. You wanted to ask what had him down, maybe throwing a pun in there for good measure.

But you didn't, you just sat there and played with the hat more intensely.

A good minute of you squirming uncomfortably passed quietly, you were unsure of what to say to him, hell you didn't know what to even do around him.

You decided focusing on the toque instead of anything else, trying to make the small amount of comfort it provided soothe you. However that was just about as soothing as trying to stretch a small blanket over your toes and your shoulders.

The anticipation you were experiencing was so intense and nerve racking you started to shake slightly.

It got so bad you dropped Ike's hat. You looked down at it and moved your hand slowly and shakily towards it, as if you were stealing a pound of meat from a sleeping lion.

A thick fabric nudged your side as you finally gripped the hat. You nearly jumped out of your skin. Quickly you swung back up and looked at him with eyes that held a spectrum of emotions, but mostly fear. Fear the relationship between you both would never be the same.

However his eyes didn't look malicious, in fact there was no emotion held within them. You looked to his outstretched hand to see the  big blanket. It took a moment but you realized he had thought you were cold.

Your heart bumped a bit louder for a moment, it was initially hopeful, but the tail end of it was a whip, it held the sharp sting of dread and the lingering pain of longing.

The gentleness of his demeanor said it was safe to take it. You blinked a few times and gripped the thick fabric and a small, apologetic smile appeared on your lips. Pulling it over your lap where you immediately identified the faint smell wafting from it was a tinge ketchupy.

After draping it generously over your shoulders and wrapping it around your body, becoming a large dumpling, he spoke roughly "Papyrus left."

The sentence was short but it held many layers of both relief, guilt and sadness.

"He went to Alphys, saying he was going to help one way or another." His breathing was slow as he leaned his head back on the window "Asked why I wasn't straight with him."

His breathing started to chop a bit  a and he dropped his white head into his cold boney hands. "I hesitated when he asked if I believed in him. I do believe in him! I swear I do! But he's no fighter!"

Bones clattering softly could be heard above the soft murmurs from the rest of the monsters, still talking amongst each other.

You were taken aback by this. But you understood to a degree what he was feeling.

So the only logical option that popped up in your mind under the pressure of trying to help was hugging him. So you did.

Wrapping the blanket over his haunched over frame you hugged his side softly "I know..." You cooed as comforting as you possibly could. It sounded like he was about to retaliate when he laughed weakly, but you managed to beat him to it.

"I'm sorry Sans. I'm so so sorry." You muttered pathetically into his fur hood. Welp, you went and did it, you showed that you regret what you did. But you couldn't hold it back, the guilt you felt when you looked at Undyne, Sans or Papyrus was beginning to be unbearable.

You figured it didn't matter anymore since the tall skeleton was no longer around. But you probably would've caved sooner or later anyway.

He looked over at you, his white dots-for-eyes wavered a little. His permanent smile seemed out of place.

He looked down at his feet for a moment before sitting up and wrapping his arms softly around your torso, while resting his cool chin on your warm neck.

"Yeah well,-" He sighed and looked off shamefully. "-I'm sorry too Y/n."

The blanket held you both warmly well into the night as, one by one, the lamps were snuffed.

The strange standing in your relationship with Sans fills you with...

Hey, it's M and it's time for the sad.

I've got some shitty news for you all.

I've decided I'm not going to write this book anymore. In fact I'm not going to be writing anything on this account anymore. I figured I'd wait till the end of this chapter to tell you guys as to not possibly bum you out while reading.

But here's the scoop. Me and Rain have stopped agreeing on a bunch of stuff with this book, we both love it to pieces, but the healthy(?) Solution to this is to not let out pissed off writing at each other affect this book.

But to be completely honest, I started to care less and less about it and don't really enjoy writing anymore, but I still wanted it to be written my way.

So I figured it'd be fair if I left instead of Rain, because really she was the one who asked me to write with her here. Idk, she's allowed to finish my books and multiple drafts but I doubt she'd want to touch that shit Lol

I just bolded the quick notes if your a reader like me and don't actually read A/n's

Bye.

Luv ya!

~M

____________

This last note of M's seems to be interpreted wrongly.
