Your body lay still as you begin to regain consciousness. As you started to come around, there was a faintly familiar feel in the air that wrapped itself around you. Your mind was blank and unusually quiet, it was a nice change of pace for you to get some sort of peace for the first time in a while. You were slightly aware of your surroundings, only of the things that mattered. Ike's hat was still in it's rightful spot atop your head.
Your whole right leg felt numb and sort of cold, like the bone was frozen. It sort of hurt, but it felt more uncomfortable than anything else.
Your eyes slowly opened, but snapped shut again from a blinding light above you, blinking repeatedly you worked up your immunity to the light. Once the eyes were adjusted they were ready ready do a quick scan of the are a. But they couldn't get that far. A little grumpy voice muttered "Your foot's gone."
A frown pulled across your face "uh... what?" you sat up with an aching feeling all over your body except the for the absence of feeling in your right leg. To your surprise, you foot was no longer fleshy, it was brassy metal, like a robot, except it didn't have any toes, it was basically just a hunk of metal with a couple of holes in it, probably to make it lighter and little metal rods traced up your leg to your shin.
You looked towards to the grumpy voice of Alphys "They're new ligaments."
You looked back to your leg, then back to her "Didn't I already have those?" you asked. She nodded in response "yeah... y-you did."
You noted past tense "did?" you echoed. "What happened to them."
"I took them out."
"Why? Can't you reattach ligaments?"
"I can, b-but I didn't."
You felt yourself get frustrated with the little triceratops like monster "Well why not? Their even easier to reach now."
She nodded calmly "I know."
This was kind of strange, the last time you spoke with Alphys she was all shy and had a nerdy-sort of cuteness to her. But now she seems a lot more sure of herself, and... angry.
"It's p-payback! For what you did to Undyne! A-And, I'm not one to hold a grudge... but she is the most important person to me and what you did to her was horrifying." she shuddered and close her eyes tightly keeping her distance.
"She almost died from the wound you gave her." a sigh flew out of her long snout-like nose and her little eyes flipped back up to you "So, although Undyne wouldn't think it would be too honourable of me, I got you back while you were unconscious, because I can't hold a grudge, I-I think we're now even."
You looked at your robotic foot again and rotated the foot up and down. "So that was you getting back at me. What is Undyne gonna do?" the question asked took Alphys by surprise. What would Undyne do? Challenge them to another fight? That would be reckless, and she would must likely die in the fight if they went like that again, Undyne only got one blow on Y/n, and it was cutting off a body part! But that didn't even stop Y/n from their pursuit to kill. Alphys stared to sweat. "Uh.. Um... I-uh."
Just before the doctor could answer a knock on the door was heard, followed with a little croaky voice. "Doctor? Can I come in?"
"Y-Yes!" her small, unsure voice returned as Froggit hopped into the room. When he saw you he smiled, it was a little strange to see such a grumpy gus like him to smile, let alone at you.
He hopped forwards and jumped onto the table next to you "How're you feeling?" he asked calmly. You stared at him as if her were going crazy "Excuse me?"
He rolled his eyes "Oh c'mon, you heard me, you aren't that stupid."
You nodded once, relieved he was back to the way he normally is. "Yeah, I'm fine. Thank you for asking." you wore a cheeky grin "Were you worried?"
He huffed looking away from you, a little bit of pink rose to his cold face. "Shut up..."
You smiled at him softly then pat his head "Sorry for scaring you." you looked to Alphys "Both of you" she averted her eyes from you, knowing you meant you were apologizing for Undyne. "W-Well... like I said, I'm not one t-t-to hold grud-grudges anyway, and I got you b-back anyway." she momentarily looked at your leg.
You smiled and she scuttled out of the room silently, most likely to go check on Undyne.
You looked back to Froggit who sat next to you "So, how do you feel about the metal foot?" Froggit looked at the contraption permanently fused to your body. You shrugged with a smile "I donno... I haven't tried walking with it yet but I think it looks pretty badass." you chuckled, Froggit smiled and rolled his eyes.
You looked him with a questioning expression. "What's up with you?"
His eyebrow perked up "What?"
You poked his belly playfully "You're acting all... not sour." you said with a smile.
An meek smile wormed it's way onto his face. "While you were knocked out, I was able to talk with the other human."
Your e/c eyes widened in shock to hear that Froggit actually got his chance to speak with the other human and hopefully he didn't lose his temper, but knowing Froggit, he most likely did.
"Well... how was it?" you felt yourself hesitate to ask, you were a bit scared of what he would say. And sadly all you could do was pray he didn't do anything stupid to make anyone dislike him or possibly want to hurt him.
"It went better than I thought to be brutally honest. They endured quite a bit of my yelling and cursing." he nodded to himself as though he were impressed by the human.
"After I tired myself out, they took that as an opportune time to tell me that they could not apologize for what they had done, they didn't mean to and they'll never stop trying to make up for what they did."
You knit your brows together in a confused frown. "You forgave them, just like that?" he laughed loudly, but it wasn't a normal 'hahahahaha' it was a terrible fake laugh consisting of only two loud 'HA's'
He shook his oval shaped head "I'll never be able to genuinely forgive them, but their words were sincere. Plus, my wife wouldn't want me to be a piss off to everyone around me."
You looked away slyly and muttered to yourself "too late."
Froggit mimicked a growl at you. It sounded like he was gurgling marbles.
Attempting to stiffle a laugh you turned your gaze away to a white, sort of grimy, wall.
The room you resided in was not much to look at, it had a different heart monitor from the one before, except it was much less fancy and had what looked to be blood and IV and few other things you could not decipher were hanging next to it in separate plastic bags. The ground had a classic bathroom titled style to it, but many of the tiles were chipped, some even totally smashed, becoming an instant hazard and all the corners of the supposedly white walls were dark with filth, and smack day in the middle was you, sitting on atop a rusty rolling bed with a bright light dangling above you, being the only source of light. It was like this room hadn't been used in a century.
Needless to say, now that you paid attention the room it was less than stellar.
You openly cringed at your surroundings "This is not one of the master suites huh?" you said looking around at the room with an amused, yet kinda sad grin "I guess it serves me right." you placed a hand on your head, Chara seemed to pipe down quite a bit, it relived you a lot, but also put you on edge.
May as well enjoy it while I can
You laid back down with a sigh and started to relax into the hard mattress. Froggit hopped beside your face and laid down too.
"Y/n."
"Yeah?"
"Thanks... for sticking by me."
You shrugged "man, it was no big deal." you looked at him with a smile. "If anything I should be thanking you, you stuck with me even when I went psychotic. Hell, you're still here." you put your arm around him and hugged him, your cheek squished on his. "You're such a good pal!" you said with a few laughs.
Froggit frowned and pushed your face away him, attempting to escape. "Okay, that's cutting it close now!" he hissed. It made you laugh as his little hands pressed your cheek into looking like half a fish.
