An eerie hush settled over both you and the woman, Toriel. Both were now exiting the little battleground. The tunnel had cloaked you and her in a veil of cold darkness as the glow of vine embers slowly stopped illuminating the way. You had caught yourself looking behind a few times, hoping to maybe still be able to see Ikes little gravestone but you had now gotten too far away to see past the little burning pile of the hell sent vines of that had caused Ikes death in the first place. It was that God forsaken flower... he killed him. You shed a few silent tears with your quivering hand over your mouth and kept your eyes shut tightly, your whole trembled, and shoulders shook.
Toriels empathetic eyes looked back at you sadly but still kept her hand around yours firmly while holding on tightly to the hats strings, remembering it's former owner.
You felt as if there were more eyes on you then just Toriels. You opened your eyes slightly and looked around to see multiple glowing eyes on you, they whispered to each other lowly. Some eyes looked sad, just like Toriel, and others looked at you with hatred burning deep inside them.
"Damn humans, soon they'll come down here and take this place from us too."
"Th-They look s-so sad."
"Of course they are! Didn't you see their best friend was just killed, by Flowey himself."
"That human is going to die when Toriel isn't around"
"...helpless... dead soon"
"...hit Flowey with his own bullets..."
"...deserves their pain..."
"..will they be like the other one?"
"...The human ran from him"
"What a fail"
"Shut up Jerry."
"...is scared out of..."
"...Human will meet death..."
"...can't live..."
"Die."
The walls chorused of you and your arrival, most wanting you dead. All the voices were hushed backed up with tiny little footsteps and swooshes along in the air till Torial whipped her body around and lit up her hand with flames making the darkness cower, she raised her palm up into the air showing her stern expression and revealing monsters hiding behind rocks, peeking out of the wall and many were even trailing behind you some floating and some walking.
It was amazing, seeing all the different monsters almost made you forget what they had said. Their numbers were uncountable for the ground behind you was covered in them. Quite a bit were crawling along the walls and even the top of the tunnel, hanging upside down.
"You will all stop speaking of this immediately! This human is our guest." the white goats words were firm and it made the monsters stop. She turned away and began to walk with you and hundreds of monsters following in her wake towards the gates of the ruins.
«•«¡!»•»
The monsters had lost interest rather soon and most of them had left, wishing Toriel the best. A couple had stayed, one looked like a frog, another few looked as if they were large moths with a napkins draped over them. And a big jelly type substance had decided to follow as well. (that is very good at wriggling their hips)
They had followed you and Toriel through the puzzles. But a few of those moths suddenly started to cry and flew away, each time one burst into tears made you jump from how sudden unpredictable it was. That proceeded to happen till there was one left, the suspense of not knowing when it will break down made you a little too on edge, even the jelly and frog seemed uneasy about it.
You flinched a bit when you felt its little hand on your shoulder "O-Oh.. I'm s-s-sorry for scaring you." She was fighting back tears, you could tell she was using all her emotional strength to talk to you. You tried to make her feel better about her decision to speak, if only a little bit "N-No! It wasn't because of you! I just was thinking..." you said, offering a smile, she did not smile back at you and instead kept her terribly sad expression.
Her little powdery wings fluttered slowly behind her tiny body as she looked down putting her hands together in front of her meekly "I-I just wanted to say, I'm sorry for what happened to your friend." a couple tears escaped her sloped eyes.
Your heart tightened at the thought of Ike, you kept holding back your sadness anyway though, for the her sake, you were almost positive she'd run die from sadness if she saw you cry too. "I-It's fine. Thank you for your concern my friend." you could've sworn you saw an ever-so-small smile begin to show but her eyes stayed the same.
You heard a scoff from beneath you, there sat the frog "(ribbit) oh please, humans are incapable to have friends and if the humans words were genuine they wouldn't have gotten over their friend death so easily, they have already replaced him with you!" it's words were venom. It pierced your heart like a dagger to paper
That thing insulted me! ... It insulted Ike! It mocked our friendship! How on earth could he say something so out of line? So cruel?!
Anger boiled in the pit of your heart and sadness made your throat sting and feel like it was closing in on itself. You wanted to hurt it badly, luckily Toriel stepped in furiously. "How could you say such a thing to one who has lost someone dear to them?!" She challenged the frog bending over to look it in the eyes. The frog glared back, it looked like it had something to say, but it bit it's tongue and looked away from the strong woman. "What you said was shameful and wrong!" she stood straight up again and pointed to you while still glaring at the frog "Froggit! Apologize this instant!"
The froggit mumbled a little apology but it didn't have a very tone. "Come child" she gently brought you beside her making sure that the froggit was not saying anything under his breath as the party got on its way again.
"Toriel?" you looked up at her as she peered down at your "Yes child?" you suddenly felt a little douche baggy for almost correcting her. "Uhm... well.." you played around with your hands nervously. "It's alright, don't be shy." you looked away shyly "My name isn't child, in fact I'm actually not a child anymore. B-But my name is Y/n so you can call me that if it's not too much to ask." you looked back her as she looked a bit confused, panic surged through you and you started to the legendary ramble.
"I MEAN you don't have to! I'm fine with child, no! In fact that may as well be my name, I mean everyone calls me child up top but you aren't from up top- I MEAN! No! Of course you are because it was thirty years ago, NOT that you look old! Er- NOT that thirty is old! I-I... I..." you were interrupted by Toriel laughing to herself with a hand over her mouth "No, Y/n. It's not too much to ask for." her giggles kept flowing out. "Thank you for that." she wiped a tear away from her eye "My main source of laughs is away for a bit"
You gave her a crooked smile "eh, no problem." you shrugged, feeling a bit embarrassed. Behind you the jelleton like monster was wriggling around in amusement, causing you to hide your face in your many sweaters and scuff your shoe on the ground.

Finally you had made it to a cute little house with three tag along monsters. The shy little Whimsun, the jiggly moldsmal and the jerk... Froggit.
You along with the three monsters were invited inside. Froggit kept throwing dirty glares your way when Toriel was not looking. Finally he had enough of you ignoring his disapproving looks and leaned over, pressing his jaw and down hard on your arm
"Ouch! What the hell!?" you angrily frown at the froggit while rubbing your arm profusely.

Before you could decide what to do with the little frog-like monster, Toriel interrupts by quietly sitting beside you with a cup, dainty little flowers painted on the sides and filled with piping peppermint tea. She handed it to you and urged you to sit closer to the fire she had recently lit.
"Thank you." A weak smile attempted to pull itself onto your face. She didn't what to pry for details, after all she did hear enough from the little rumors floating around (what was seen was most likely seen by the monsters in the wall) that your friend died by that flowers vines when it pulled him to his death and you following after him with no bit of hesitation.
She did not want to bring that disturbing memory even if you were probably already thinking about it.
So instead she just gave you a couple fuzzy hugs, a shoulder to cry on and a surprisingly good pie that tasted like butterscotch and cinnamon. It was a very creative flavour.
"So how are you feeling?" she asked quietly and sat down next to you with her own cup of tea. A sigh escaped you "Shitty."
She and the others looked taken aback by such language Whimsun even fainted, but you quickly caught her light, tiny body. Toriel got over it and gave a little uncomfortable nod, raising the tea cup to her lips "I see."
An awkward silence settled over the three conscious monsters and you. It was uncomfortably quiet. And looked back at your empty plate of where the sweet pie once sat "Hey, I'm thanks for the pie. It was really good." you said, desperately trying to strike up a conversation with the woman who had saved your life from that flower (and possibly the froggits life from you)
Toriels ears popped up a tiny bit as she looked at you, another one of her warm smiles melted your heart "Thank you child." her honey voice soothed "Oh! Would you like more?" she was just about to stand up before you cut in "No, it's alright, it is delicious though." you were not really in the mood for more food.
"But I would like to know how you came up with the idea of this flavour of pie."
Toriel sighed and looked away, her happy completion turned to pained smile "I learned how to make it for the previous human that had been here a couple days ago." she looked shyly into her fragile cup full of hot tea "Although I'm certain that they are doing fine, I have asked a friend to watch over the little one." she drew in a deep breath and slumped over her tea "but I miss them. And if anything happens to them... I just... I don't know if I could live with myself." She held her cup closer to her body in intense pain.
There was a little pause till she began to hear little strings making music beside her, she raised her head to look over at you as you began to quickly strum a gentle tune. It was like an instrumental lullaby. You were never the best at comforting, but you knew music was no matter who you were.
Torial and you shared a tiny spark of happiness as she began to listen. It was nice, like floating on a cloud and you were pretty surprised of how well you played.
The goat soon found herself rocking back and forth till her body became too heavy to stand and the floor was suddenly very comfortable. It seemed to have that effect on the others, the froggits eyes drooped even more then they were already, Whimsun was already passed out but she had a little smile, barely noticeable unless you really looked, as for Moldsmal... well you really could not tell, but either he was dreaming pleasantly or he was slow dancing, either way you were happy they enjoyed it.
You continued to play as Toriel tapped her finger lightly on the ground to the beat. You were still going in your little bubble of attention till you head a faint snore, you ignore the first but when the second one rolled around you noticed the woman had fallen asleep with a calm smile.
You played your song quieter and quieter till you stopped and got a pillow off her rocking chair for her and a warm blanket to cover her, you snuggled in after her and wrapped one of her arms around your body as you slipped away into slumber. The motherly goat-woman was soft and cuddly so snuggling was not a bad idea at all.
Even if you had been scared of her power there was no reason to actually be afraid, she has a beautiful soul and a generous nature and was quickly becoming someone you would like to be the mother you never had. "Thank you." you muttered in a tiny tired voice. Toriel seemed to get a happier aura when she heard that. She snuggled her smiling face on top of your head as her a and gave you a comforting squeeze, she did not say anything. You supposed it was a way to say 'it's no trouble' without actually saying it.
So feeling slightly more content you tried to sleep, but was ultimately unsuccessful, thinking only of Ikes smile like freshly fallen snow and his sunny hair, wondrous blue eyes, his smell of pine trees from always climbing them and hanging from them, Ike would be a sunny winters day if it were depicted as a person.
But then the cracking and crunching of his ribs when you pulled him off the rock, the vines. That fucking flower.
You felt your rage towards him intensify, feeling determined that when you face him again, you will kill him.
You took his toque off of your head and pressed it to your heart desperately and silently made a vow "I will avenge you Ike, I don't care what I have to do to carry through with this, I will kill that Flower for taking you away much too soon."
That's when the fire ignited inside.
