Froggit and you trudged along in the snow, both of you were quiet.

Your mind seemed only to just float to what happened when leaving that little snowy town.

If you said it didn't frighten you, you'd be lying. You had zoned out for only a moment and immediately your body seemed get possessed, like when your concessions isn't paying attention something slithers in and takes control, it almost happen a few moments ago as well.

You tried not to think about it too much, but you could tell Froggit was still rolling it around in his mind, examining each aspect of the outburst of energy, and the strange shocked look in your eyes when he called you back, hour had seen that surprised look before. He knew something was up, you could tell.

When he just started to warm up to you he could walk beside you, or even in front, offering his back to you in a sign of trust, but now he strictly trails behind at a safe distance.

It hurt you to think that he didn't trust you anymore, but you couldn't say you could trust yourself all too much either.

As you both walked farther, your surroundings started to get a little dark and muggy and the snow on the ground started to thin out till it black dirt was revealed. You smiled a bit to yourself, it was much warmer here so you were rather happy about that, but it was so warm all of a sudden you started to sweat a great deal with your 2 sweaters and hat on.

You trudged on, your back pack in your hand as you pulled both sweaters over your head.

Sadly you had not thought it through and both your sweaters got stuck above your head, you felt your shirt go up with them too. You growled and spun around, trying to pull them both off successfully but keep your shirt on.

"Need some help?"

You turned to where the voice had come from, still unable to see.

"Could you?" your tone of was full of hopefulness, which made the other laugh, although it was only a little it warmed your heart for some reason, making your ears and face feel hot.

You started to actually feel a bit self conscious and started to wriggle around anxiously.

You felt a cold stick like thing curl around your shirt that had folded up to your chest, you could feel it's chilled essence graze against your skin, it made you shiver a bit.

The stick got more friends just like it as it pulled your shirt back over your body.
Oh no. That's a hand... and the only hand like that belongs to-

The sweaters were pulled off over your head and you were face to face with-

-Sans...

You were a bit unsure how to react to him getting so close to your unclothed stomach. Your hands were still up in the sweaters, he looked at you with a confused look "you gonna pull your arms out? I can't actually reach that high." his smile was lopsided, as if wondering if he should even be there.

Pulling your hands out of the inside-out sleeves, you tilted your head to the side questioningly and brought your sweaters to your body "Why are you here?" the words were a bit to-the-point as but you didn't care, as far as you knew, Sans and you didn't trust one another.

He gestured towards a little hut, similar to the one you had almost froze to death in. "I have to work."

A lie.

"How did you get here so fast? And before me?"

He rolled his shoulders back and stuck his hands in his pockets. "I know a lot of shortcuts."

Another lie.

"Really? Interesting." a brow raised towards him. His cool expression stayed on his face, he didn't seem at all intimidated by you.

Something deep in your mind was nagging that he was here to keep an eye on you.

"Alright, fine."

You walked over to the huts little counter and sat on it, flinging one of your legs to the other side and resting your back against the wood plank that helped hold up the huts rood. You shrugged your bag off your back and set it on your lap.

Sans seemed to stiffen up as you unzipped your bag, his eyes watched your every move carefully, even more so when Froggit hopped on top of the counter clumsily, his back legs missed and his stomach crashed against the counter. He slowly heaved his body on top of the ledge.

You laughed a little at him "Froggit, are you okay?" he nodded slowly rested his back against one of the huts posts "I got the wind knocked outta me." he huffed and groaned in pain.

"Aww, muffin!" you teased and put a hand in your pack.

Before you could pull out what you grabbed, Sans had your wrist. You were shocked for a moment then sighed "Is this going to be a thing you do now?"

You tried to pull your hand out of the pack again but Sans kept a firm grip. "What're you grabbing for?" he asked lowly. You looked at him confused then rolled your wrist around, only to show your tiny ukulele. Sans eyes widened in shock and he immediately stepped back, releasing your wrist. "Honestly, you need to stop with this weird wrist grabbing thing you do. It's starting to get predictable." you laughed and pulled the ukulele to yourself playing a few notes.

Sans did not seem to know what to do, after he saw your uke.

He looked confused and scared. "Sans it's just a baby guitar!" you said with amusement waving it in front of him. He flinched away. "This doesn't make any sense!" he growled at you "You've never had this before!" he stuck a white bone at the old wooden instrument.

You frowned and pulled it away from him just in case he tried to grab it from you, you sat up intrigued. "Before what?"

His eyes widen and locked with your confused ones, you both stared at each other for a good few moments, you kept your determined gaze. His eyes went back to normal and he turned away in a huff, stuffing his hands in his pockets.

You rolled your eyes and groaned "Ugh Sans!" you swung your foot back over the counter and faced the back of his chalky coloured skull "Okay! I'm getting quite a bit of mixed signals so let me just get straight to the point!" you hopped off the counter, resting your ukulele down on it.

"Can we be friends?" you stuck a hand out to his back, hoping he'd turn around and shake it, but he stayed still. "Sans! At least turn around and give me an answer!" you said with you hand still outstretched towards him.

There was a moment of silence as you waited patiently for him.

The cool, musty wind blew through your h/c hair silently, all that was heard was the quiet shifting around of your feet and Sans breath.

"Kiddo. To tell you the truth, I don't really want to be your friend." his gruff voice said, taking you by surprise, you thought he would change his mind about you.

The hand that awaited Sans lowered to your side, hanging in a lifeless manner. "Alright." you nodded once and sat down on the counter

Another silent moment went past.

You stared at your feet, the feeling of failure washed over you like a tidal wave of pins and needle to your soul.

The wind tussled Sans hood fur as he stayed perfectly still, like a stone statue.

"But..." you whispered to yourself in dismay. Sans kept a hard stare away from you.

"But I'm not giving up yet!" you smiled and perked your head up. Sans head lifted a little and he turned to look at you over his slumped shoulders. You swayed you feet back and forth happily with a bright smile "If Ike taught me anything about anything! It's not give up on someone! And Sans, I'm not giving up on you!"

Sans turned fully towards you with a bewildered expression. "What?" he asked deeply. You gave him your best smile "You heard me!" you picked your ukulele up and held it.

"Don't worry, I'll keep you company while you work!" you smiled.

"So Sans tell me a little bit about yourself!" you cocked your head to the side.

He stared at you, then cracked a bit of a true smile as he walked around to the seat in the hut. "Alright." he sat down and looked up at you resting both of his hands at the back of his head and closed his eyes. "What'd you like t'know?"
