Wrong caller

"Hello...... hello," nothing. The only sound I can hear is snoring. She must have fallen asleep so I hang up the phone and do the same. Sarah refuses at first because she is so anxious but soon she can't hold on any longer and she falls asleep to.

I'm woken up by a loud banging on the door. I get up to see who it is and it's Maria's dad with the 3 police officers. They are caring a lot of equipment. They put it on the table and start setting it up.

One of the police officers, speaking to no one in particular says, "I'm officer Tyler, we have brought some equipment with us that will help us find the girl next time she calls."

"She has a name," someone says. Everyone looks and sees that it's Ashley. The banging must have woken her up to. She walks into the room towards officer Tyler.

"Her name is Maria, not the girl." She says sternly.

"Yes ma'am." He says politely as Ashley sits down.

"All we can do now is wait for her to call," says another officer. It's only 6:30 so I can imagine she is still asleep. The room sits in silence for what feels like hours. Finally my phone rings, "It's her."

One of the officers holds out his hand, "Give me the phone so we can track the caller." I give him the phone and he connects it to the machine before he answers and puts it on speaker.

"Hello," I say.

"Hello," this wasn't her.

The voice was far to deep.

"Wait, who is this, were is Maria."

"That is none of your concern at the moment."

"None of our concern, this is my daughter you are talking about and if you harm her in any way you are dead! You hear me, DEAD!" Her father yells.

The strange man is laughing at this point.

"You can't kill a man till you find him."

He says and hangs up the phone. The room breaks into tears again.

"Please say you were able to trace the call," says Sarah with fear in her eyes and tears running down her cheeks.

"Yes, it says she is about 45 minutes away. We need to go now," the three police walk to the door and everyone follows.

"You need to stay here it's to dangerous. We can handle it," says one of the officers.

"My daughter has been missing for almost 2 days. If you think I'm going to sit back and just let handle it you've got another thing coming, ok," says Ashley to the officer.

"O..ok then," the officer says shocked.

"Let's get Maria back."
