Chapter One: Sapphire Ozpin-Goodwitch

(Female Narrator)

"Legends. Stories scatter through time. Mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the exploits of heroes and villains, forgetting so easily that we are remnants, byproducts, of a forgotten past. Man born from dust, was strong, wise, and resourceful. But, he was born into an unforgiving world. An inevitable darkness, creatures of destruction. The creature of Grimm set their sights on man and all of his creations. These forces clashed and it seemed the darkness was intent on returning mans breif existence to the void. However, even the smallest spark of hope, is enough to ignite change, and in time the man's passion, resourcefulness and ingenuity led them to the toolsthat would help even the odds. This power was appropritately named 'Dust'. Natures wrath in hand, man lit their way through the darkness, and in the shadows absence, came strenght, civilization, and most importantly life. But even the most brilliant lights eventually flicker and die. And when they are gone, darkness will return."

"So you may prepare your guardians, build your monuments to a so-called free world, but take heed... There will be no victory in strenght."

(Male Narrator)

"But perhaps victory is in the simpler things that you've long forgotten. Things that require a smaller, more honest soul."

(No One's POV)

The moon was shinging through the empty night sky as a shadow leaped from rooftop to rooftop, scouting the kingdom of Vale for any signs of trouble, yet suddenly a loud crash was heard. The shadow rushed to the sound, staying hidden in the darkness of the night as they witnessed what seemed to be a small girl dressed in red, as she couldn't be much older than the age of 16- but for someone so young she was kicking some major butt of those henchmen who attempted to rob a dust store. As the girl finished off the henchmen, a man in a white coat with red-orange hair beneath his top hat stepped out and leaned on his cane. He exchanged to the few words to the girl before shooting at her, creating a diversion as he attempted to escape, but he wouldn't get away so easily. The two stood on a rooftop not far from the shadow, just as the girl was about to capture the man a airship flew behind him as he hopped on and threw a red dust crystal at the girl and shot it, creating an explosion that would have injured her badly if it wasn't for the shadow stepping into the light and pulled the girl back. A woman stood where the shadow had entered, she had blonde hair that was placed together in a neat bun as well as a white button up, black pants and boots, but what stood out was a black and purple cape along with her riding crop that must've been her weapon. The woman stood in front of the girl as she glared at the man on the ship as he laughed, but once the smoke cleared the woman glowed for a second just as purple beams of light shot at the place, causing the man to run to the front while a woman with black hair and wearing a red dress stepped into view. The two women exchanged glares as they engage into intense battle, beams of purple and red light go back and forth, turning debris into weapons and firing it at the place, but the woman on the plane made explosions surround the blonde woman and girl in red, catching their attention as she escaped with the man. The girl in red turned to the woman and gasped "You're a huntress! May I have your autograph?" she squealed just as the huntress rolled her eyes at the young girl.

After speaking with the young girl, the woman and a man with silver hair enter an empty academy before stepping into an elevator "Are you sure this is the right thing to do Ozpin?" the woman spoke softly, hugging herself as she looked at the man with silver hair "That girl seemed around her age, and if she can learn something like that from dusty old Qrow, than who are we to hide our daughter from the world any longer? Espicially when she spent her entire life in these walls with hunters and huntresses." Ozpin spoke as the woman frowned slightly just as Ozpin placed his hand on her shoulder "Glynda." he spoke "We both know she'll have to learn everything eventually.. We can't hide it anymore than we can hide the world from her." Glynda sighed and nodded "You're right.." a small smile was exchanged in between the two as the elevator doors opened to reveal what seemed to be an entire floor that was made into a living space. Ozpin and Glynda walked through the door as Glynda placed a bag of take-out food on the dining room table "Sapphire!" Ozpin called as no response was heard "She probably has her headphones in." Glynda spoke as Ozpin nodded and walked down the hallway to a dark blue door that was covered in stickers before knocking "Sapphire! We're home!" Ozpin called as the sound of footsteps rushed to the door just as it swung open to reveal a small girl, around the age of 16 who had tanned skin, bright baby blue hair and snow white bangs. She had black wolf ears, but the right ear seemed to have been ripped off in some type of battle, yet her baby blue eyes matched her hair. "Sapphire we brought food, so come eat with us." Ozpin smiled down at Sapphire as she nodded and followed behind her father before approaching her mother who had open arms "Hello mother!" Sapphire greeted as Glynda hugged her daughter close "Good evening Sapphire, were you okay on your own?" she asked, cupping her daughter's face gently while looking her over. Sapphire giggled with a nod "I'm alright mother, I promise." she smiled just as the three took a seat at the table to eat.

While the three of them ate, Ozpin cleared his voice and set his fork down "Saphhire, your mother and I have some great news." he grinned softly, as Sapphire swallowed her dumpling and looked at her parents "Oh? Are we getting a new professor this year?" she asked as Glynda shook her head "No.." there was a pause in her words as Glynda and Ozpin glanced at each other before looking to Sapphire "Your father and I decided that you are old enough to attend Beacon's freshman class this year." A loud gasp was heard as Sapphire looked to her parents with wide eyes "R-Really?!" she exclaimed in surprise, making Ozpin chuckle "Indeed. We agreed it was time for you to get out in the world, after being raised within these walls and surrounded by hunters and huntresses, it's your turn to take your mark in the world." Sapphire nodded her head quickly as she stood up in excitement and hugged both her parents "Thank you thank you thank you!" she spoke with pure excitement in her voice as they stood and looked down at her "But please remember that you are not only respenting us, but also yourself. People come to judge quickly, and soon enough you'll learn that. Just remmeber who you are at the end of the day." Glynda warned as she slipped her hand beneath Sapphire's chin who leaned into her mother's touch "I promise I will mother." Sapphire grinned at both of her parents before holding them both "We love you very much, and we know you'll do great this year.." Ozpin smiled as he petted Sapphire's hair gently while holding her close. Sapphire smiled against her parents as she still couldn't believe they were letting her into the freshmen class two years early. This was her oppertunity to show the world she's more than the gem of Vale.. that she was Sapphire Ozpin-Goodwitch. A future huntress.
