(No One's POV) 

          The next morning came faster than some expected. Students arose from their sleeping bags and filled the sorted rooms for them, collecting their clothes, brushing their teeth and getting their weapons ready for the day to come. 

          A small groan was let out from Sapphire as she took her earbuds out and paused her music, tiredly rubbing her eyes as her ears twitched and adjusted to the new sounds just before a slightly rugged voice spoke "Good morning princess." Sapphire turned to the voice to see Drew starting to wake up as he stretched nd flexed his muscles a bit before fixing his hair "I'm not a princess, but good morning." Sapphire mumbled, but just as she stood up she was gently nudged to the side as a tall pale figure with black hair and red tips walked past her "Hey, watch it!" she called just as Drew chuckled and offered his hand to Sapphire, gently pulling her up and hummed "Wow, it doesn't take a lot to push you down huh?" he teased as Sapphire growled under her breath before walking away to get ready

          As for the tall pale figure, Red walked into the locker room and searched for his locker, noticing a familiar pair of wings from around the corner he hummed and stood beside her "I never got your name yesterday Moth." he spoke in a low tone as the person he referred to as 'Moth' turned to face him just before fixing her glasses "I'm Luna. Luna Crypt." she informed as Red nodded "Huh." he pulled out a cigarette and lit it before blowing a puff of smoke into the air, making Luna cough before she fanned away the smoke with her wings "I would appreciate if you didn't do that around me Red." she coughed as Red let out a small chuckle before blowing another cloud of smoke into her face and walked away to find his locker. Luna grumbled under her breath as she grabbed her weapon and placed it on her arm "I hope I don't get stuck with him.. " she mumbled before fluttering out the room 

(Time Skip) 

          While students compiled in groups of eight onto the cliff in Emerald Forest at the edge of the city, Ozpin and Glynda stood in front of them, gazing across the students and secretly hoped their daughter would be safe in this environment.. especially with the Grimm in the woods below.. "For years you have trained to become warriors." Ozpin started "And today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest." He finished as Glynda took over "Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of teams. Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates... Today. " Glynda spoke as a wave of confusion, worry and fear washed over the students "What..?" Luna mumbled as she gripped onto her arm slightly before shaking her head, calming herself down before glancing over to Red who was a few panels away. "These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon." Ozpin informed "So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well. That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years." Noises of shocked and confusion came from the students as Ozpin continued "After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path, or you will die. You will be monitored and graded for the duration of your initiation. But our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one, and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?" Ozpin finished with a question as a blonde male rose his hand "Uh ye-" Ozpin cuts off the male "Good! Now, take your positions." he instructed 

          Students across the panels took their positions as Sapphire swallowed the lump in her throat, her ears twitching with the breeze as she stood on the balls of her feet, ready to go at any moment. "Um sir.. I have a question.." the blond male proceeded as Drew was soon launched into the air  "So, this landing strategy thing, uh, w-what is it?" he asked as other students one by one were catapulted into the air "You're, like, dropping us off or something?" he questioned, oblivious to what's happening beside him. "No. You will be falling." Ozpin spoke bluntly "Oh, I see. So, like, did you hand out parachutes for us?" The blonde questioned again as Luna and Red were launched into the air, Sapphire waiting on her turn as she stood beside the clueless blond. "No. You will be using your own landing strategy." Ozpin informed as Glynda gave a displeasing look to the male "Uhhuh... Yeah." the blonde gulped just as Sapphire was thrown into the air by her panel while the blond spoke "So, um, what exactly is a landing strateGYYYYAAAAHHHH!" The male yelled as he was catapulted through the air, Glynda and Ozpin turning towards the edge of the cliff, watching the students land in the forest below. "I'm worried about her Ozpin.." Glynda mumbled "Remember what happened last time she had interaction with a Grimm?" she brought up as Ozpin nodded "I know Glyn, but we can't protect her forever. Plus, I'm sure she will react before the Grimm can show or do anything to her." Ozpin spoke while sipping his coffee while Glynda nodded and looked to the sky "I hope you're right.."
