"Alright, as you all know we need to come up with a plan to rescue Mabel." Stan announced. "Sixer since your the smart one around here, how do we get Mabel out of the portal?"

Ford looked at the portal in dismay. "Well Stanley, I'm not entirely sure how to get someone out, only how they go in." He said.

*Cue theme song without Mabel*

"But isn't that portal the same as the first one you built?" Dipper asked.

"No, this one is completly different than the original, I haven't figured out how this one works just yet, but as soon as I do we can save Mabel."

Stan sighed. "Alright Sixer, What's the plan for after we find out?"

"Can we pull her out?" "Will she come back to us through the portal?" Gideon questioned.

Ford nodded. "Possibly, we might be able to pull her out."

Candy nodded. "What should we do while you work on the portal?" "You'll need our help to get Mabel out when you finish."

"Go home for now, this could take a while to figure out and it would be easier to work with few people here." Ford replied.

"Ok, call us as soon ad you figure it out?" Pacifica asked.

Ford nodded. "I will, don't worry kids, Mabel will be fine."

With that Pacifica, Gideon, Candy and Grenda left leaving only Stan, Soos, Wendy, and Dipper.

"Alright, I'll be in my lab woking on the portal please, no one come in because we don't need anyone else sucked in it." Ford ordered.

Wendy and Soos nodded and headed to the register. Stan temporarily closed the shack so no one would interrupt their work.

Ford went to his lab wholesale everyone else followed orders and stayed in the shack.

Dipper sighed sitting down next to Wendy. "Don't worry dork, we are all worried about Mabel, but soon she'll be out and here with is again."

Dipper smiled a little at her and flipped through the jornal using the black light to read the invisible ink Ford wrote.

Stan and Soos just sat in silence not really sure what to say or do.
After a while Dipper spoke up.

"I'm feeling kinda tried, I think I'll go get some sleep." "Wake me if you find out anything." He said.

Stan looked a little worried at his great nephew feeling tired so soon, but kept quite and nodded.

"Dudes, I'm kinda worried about Dipper." Soos said worriedly.

"Me too, it's not like him to want to sleep so early like that, I think Mabel being in the portal is really tearing him up." Stan agreed.

"Yeah, I hope Ford figures this out soon so we can get her out." Wendy replied.

While they were in the shack talking, Ford was in his lab staring at the portal in frustration.

"Why can't I figure this out?" "If I don't Mabel will be stuck in that portal forever!" "If only there was a solution in these notes!"
He mused.

He saw a small page of notes that he hadn't seen yet. He carefully read them over and gasped.

"Yeesh, he's been in there for half an hour and nothing!" Stan mumbled. "Should we just figure it out on our own?"

"C'mon Mr. Pines, give him a little longer, I know we want Mabel out, but I think we should wait-" Soos began.

Ford burst into the shack. "Everyone, I've found it!" He announced.

Everyone practilly jumped off the couch in exitment. Even Dipper woke up and rushed downstairs. "We need to get the journals!" Ford ordered.

"But, there in the bottomless pit, right?" Wendy inquired.

Ford face palmed. "Agh!" "I forgot I threw 1 and 2 in the bottomless pit!" "We only have journal 3!" He mused.

"Relax Sixer, we'll just go into the pit and get them!" Stan assured.

Ford stared in confusion at his brother. "Stanley, it's a bottomless pit, you can't go in it, you'd never come out!" He replied.

"But we did Great Uncle Ford, Grunkle Stan, Mabel, Soos and I fell in one time last summer, and after a while of floating we just got spit right back up to the top." Dipper explained.

Ford's eyes lit up with excitement. "Holy Moses!" "Where's the journal, I've got to write this down!" He shouted.

"Um, Ford have you forgotten that we need to get the journals and save Mabel?" Stan said rolling his eyes.

"Oh, um right!" "We'd better get to the bottomless pit and find those journals!" Ford replied smiling.

"Alright c'mon dudes,  let's go jump into a pit and find some journals!" Wendy declared.

"Bottomless pit, here we come!
