Astrid stood on Cleopatra's left side.

"I, Cleopatra have returned to my people in a time of crisis. The Kane's have befriended the filthy Romans and Greeks. When they should have killed them all." Cleopatra went and started. Astrid's feet were aching from the high heels.

"I have the support of the Drift Shifters-" cleopatra was cut off by Astrid laughing. "What?" The queen snarled.

"You don't have my support, or the other two. Your an accident." Astrid laughed.

"No the gods brought me back. Anubis helped-"

"I didn't help you! You barely made it to the Field of Reeds. You abandoned your people when the Romans started to win! Then the Drift Shifters had to die to save us all. Until now all of us avoided each other." Walt yelled. Cleopatra turned to Sadie.

"Help sister."

"No. You dethroned my brother by threatening my life."Sadie hissed. Cleopatra was running out of people to turn to.

"Please, child of Ma'at-"

"I'm a daughter of Lupa. Drift shifter of combat. Throw a snake in your bra." Astrid growled Hunter walked up.

"Guess what Cleo. We in a way really are assassins." Hunter stabbed her and pulled out the sword. The sword sucked her in.

"Well, who's next on the hit list?" Astrid asked.

Astrid came out of the bathroom in her normal clothing. She picked up her things and walked out and down the stairs. Fez was laying across the floor in the sunlight. The Brooklyn House was starting to look normal again. She saw Nico, Will, and Hunter. She felt butterflies rise up in her stomach when she saw him. Hunter looked to her he looked relaxed, then in a nano second it turned to alarm.

"Look out!" he yelled. Fez jumped up and barked. She reacted too late. Arms reached around her neck and squeezed. She twisted her head to prevent the attacker from choking her, she kicked her leg out to try and throw off her attacker. Her friends were running to her.

"Stop." the person holding her hostage yelled, it was a woman. "I'll snap her neck." a hand reached up and held her head threateningly. Astrid fell still, as did everyone else. for a moment Astrid could hear all their heatbeats, all going faster then normal. Then Hunter looked at her right in the eyes.

Was this Death's revenge for breaking his son's heart?

Cause she should have seen this coming, he has waited too long. Gods don't always keep tabs on their children. So Death might not even know that they are back together. She looked past Hunter to see the god himself. Time seemed to freeze.

"Not today. That would just hurt Hunter more." he said. "my son has it all planned out, I'm here for another life."

Time sped up again just in time for her to hear a gunshot.

The arms and hands holding her slacked and fell away. She turned to look at her attacker.

"You killed the lady more fit to run this world then Carter Kane will ever be. Cleopatra was a great leader-" the lady said as a small line of blood traced down her face from her mouth.

"Your leader came back from the dead. She dropped a snake in her shirt when things got rough." Astrid growled.

"Because of your race!" the ladies words were drifting away a little. Becoming weaker. Will was at her side trying to stop the bleeding. Thanatos just stood shaking his head.

It was too late.

"It wasn't my race. It was bound to happen eventually." Astrid said calmly. Hunter looked at the lady.

"I'm sorry." He said. He knew she was a lost cause.

"I did threaten that girls life." The lady said. "Maybe if I'm still truthful enough I can still get Field of Reeds."

"I forgive you, and if you are honest and truthful. You will get it. Good luck." Astrid said as the lady gave one more breath then fell still.
