Leo's POV

Leo walked up the hill towards the barrier. He took Festus for a flight and a large and important screw fell off in the area. Leo looked up. He noticed some broken branches. He quickly walked over. The large screw about as long as his arm and almost heavier than him was sitting on the ground.

"Yes!" Leo did a small happy dance. He wasn't worried about anybody seeing him. He was practically standing on the barrier at an early hour. This was a camp full of teenagers. They're going to sleep as long as possible. Leo was about to pick up the screw when a flash of light behind him caused him to quickly jump behind a tree. He poked his head out. Astrid was clutching her stomach. Small whines of pain escaped her lips. Leo was about to jump out and help when Natasha and Andrea came and helped her over the barrier. When Astrid pulled her arm away from her side her scars were glowing brightly through the fabric. It was like when she first got them. They gave Leo his first burn.

That's how hot it was.

Astrid seemed to get over her small episode of pain. They stood in a circle when Fez joined them. Natasha pulled three gloves out of a pocket on her tool belt. She handed one to each of the girls.

"These are what I call the Mecha gloves. They run on the same power as an automaton. And when single they turn into motorcycles or a quad." Natasha said with a grin, her eyes betrayed how exited she was. "And when put together they become a Jeep Rubicon, a helicopter, or a river boat." Natasha was practically jumping in excitement. She pulled out three small ear pieces. They put them in.

"These work as a helmet. Press a button and they become a helmet. Pull out another piece and it becomes a helmet for a passenger. They can work as communicators." Natasha explained.

"So I guess it's time to get out of here." Astrid said. Andrea nodded. Astrid glanced back at the camp with big longing eyes. Then turned and morphed her Mecha Glove into a Tron looking bike. They sped off, Fez in hot pursuit. Leo took a second to process what happened. Then he quickly picked up the screw and started his long walk back to Bunker 9.

Leo was called to the Big House for a meeting the next morning. They all sat on the fold up chairs around the ping pong table.

It was surprising how professional ADHD demigods were.

Chiron walked up with a long face. "Our three Drift Shifters are gone. They made a note and left." Chiron announced. Mr.D apparently didn't care. He simply sipped his drink. Nico came foreward and unfolded a note that was on a blank piece of paper.

"Dear People,

I know we got up and left. In the middle of the night. But we wanted to avoid questions. We left to find our Norse counterparts. They could need us just as much as you all needed us with the Setne problem. If we run into any demigods we'll send them your way. Cause the nose, knows. And so do the monsters. We will come back. Don't panic too much.

Because, have we really left?

-Astrid, Natasha, and Andrea" Nico read.

"So we start looking. They couldn't have gotten far." Piper said.

"They can probably shadow travel. They have a Transport Drift Shifter. So they can move however they want." Nico said.

"Was Astrid in any condition to travel?" Percy asked.

"I would have wanted her to see Apollo about it. She was struggling to control the drift." Will said. Everyone went silent. A drift shifter without their main weapon were almost useless.

"They aren't using the drift. They have gloves that turn into modes of transport. Natasha made them. I saw them." Leo said.

"Did they have helmets! Astrid is accident prone!" Will frantically asked.

"Natasha had that covered." Leo said. Will calmed down.

"Now what?" Jason asked.

"We tell the others and start looking." Annabeth said. "It must be tied together. I won that bet. But still. His story." Annabeth muttered to herself. And with that the meeting ended. Leo felt like he could have done something.

"I could have stopped them." He said.

"No. No force could stop them. I couldn't so don't beat yourself up about it, Leo." Nico said placing his hand briefly on his shoulder before running to catch up with Will. Leo quickly dipped some crackers in the cheese wiz and left.
