Chapter Nineteen

Hunter's POV

Hunter walked up the trail. Eva walked up the trail beside him. She had a look in her eyes. A look that said she knew this place, that she was powerful and had secrets nobody knew. When she fought she had the expression that said "yes, I'm less experienced than you, I am shorter, but that won't stop me from destroying you."

That made Hunter get butterflies. But he was pretty sure they were the good kind.

Eva looked into the shadows of a tree and froze up.

"Who are you?" She asked. A cold feeling spreading through her limbs like death.

"I think you know." The man who Astrid identified as Death answered.

"What do you want?" Ask the simple questions.

"For you not to hurt my son."

"Hunter?" Astrid said. She knew who he was now. It explains the scent of death around him. He was part of the prophecy.

"Yes. You staying in hiding like this, when you reveal who you are it will hurt him. He will feel betrayed." Death said. " and if that happens, Death may come early for you." His gaze darkened. She knew he meant that he would kill her. He shadow travelled away.

Astrid turned to Hunter. He stood there, ever so slightly confused.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

He doesn't know. He isn't claimed ether.

So Death is waiting.

"Nothing, just thought I saw something." Astrid said and they started walking again. She turned to see a shadow of a man with it's arms crossed, it was shaking it's head slowly. Astrid hurriedly caught up with Hunter.

The Romans were coming over for a bit. She waited behind a building waiting for Jonathan. He came down the street. His hands in his pockets. Natasha walked out and stood in front of him.

"Do I know you?" He was confused on why she stood in front of him, stopping him.

"Maybe you'll remember this." Natasha pulled him in and kissed him. He tended up before relaxing.

"It's easier to just say who you are." He smiled.

"True. But their is ears listening."

Andrea's POV

Andrea walked up to bunker nine and slipped inside. She slunk through the shadows to a tunnel. She walked in looking around. As she walked the air got musty and damp, the tunnel descended lower. The drift curled off her. Her smaller wings held high on her back. She came to a room. She pulled out a lighter and lite the lamps around the room. She went over to the table were scientists papers sat waiting.

A demigod from the Greek and a demigod from the Roman side, a dwarf, and a magician realized they needed to save their worlds after the last drift shifters died. They collected information and stored it. Then only one being from each of their families each generation would learn about it so they could guard it.

Andrea learned about it by accident.

She gently moved the papers around they were all in prestige condition. She lifted one that said something about a branch of magicians who channeled their magic through a wand. And that they weren't limited to Egyptian magic.

There was one saying that there were Norse demigods who were ancient descendants of the version of the gods who all died in the first Ragnorok. And now they lived in South Dakota.

Andrea smiled. She found it. An ancient pile of history sitting underneath Camp Half-Blood. A key to discovering the true limit to their powers over the drift.
