"Park Seolhee, stop worrying. I'm perfectly capable of catching a bus and getting there myself, I am not a child,"

Hyunji refrained herself from rolling her eyes as her older sister continued to drone on, practically lecturing her about the dangers of travelling alone.

"I know that you're no longer a child, but that doesn't mean I'm not responsible for you. Mother and Father have particularly requested that I keep an eye out on you,"

"Yeah, well, Mother and Father just want to make sure that I'm not doing things I'm not supposed to," The youngest of the two Park girls muttered.

"Well, have you?"

Memories of adrenaline rushing through her veins as cars skidded across the asphalt drifted through her mind, particularly that of a certain blue-haired boy, but instead of voicing that aloud, Hyunji shook her head.

"Of course not, what do you think I am? A troublemaker?"

A short pause from the other end of the phone enveloped the room into a silence. The chambers in which Hyunji resided with alongside Miso was empty, the Jang girl having left early for an assessment.

"Hyun," Seolhee's tone had softened, it was gentler as though she was reassuring the girl. "You know it's okay to do the things that you like, just make sure it- "

"Doesn't ruin the reputation of our parents, yes, I know," Hyunji's tone had grown harder, firmer with every word she spoke. It wasn't as though that wasn't what she had been doing for the last couple of years in her life.

Everything for the sake of her parents.

...

"You look exhausted, have you been sleeping enough? There are dark circles under your eyes," Lee Hanna stared inquisitively at her daughter, and to someone outside of the Park family, it would appear to be a mother simply caring for the health and wellbeing of her child.

To Hyunji, it was anything but.

"I've been pulling a few all-nighters," The girl mumbled, earning a reproachful look from her father, Park Woohyun.

"How many times do I have to tell you, Park Hyunji, don't mumble, speak up," His tone was stern, cold as it had always been.

"I apologise," This time, she spoke a little louder, not wanting to strain her parents any further.

"Well, it is all for the position of being a doctor," Her mother continued her examination of the Park girl. "Then, you can think about the pharmaceutical company, and continue on from there. Just make sure your dark circles don't make it to the press,"

Park Pharmaceuticals was the forefront of Korea's medical business, and Hyunji, alongside her elder sister, were the heiresses to the organisation. Their influence in the medical world had been their parents' reason that both of their daughters study medicine, and the two young women had had their fair share of articles and cuttings in magazines, presenting their lives as gloriously, to utter perfection.

Ignoring their reality, and the dreams which they had been forced to abandon.

But like the perfect daughters they were, Hyunji and Seolhee had obeyed both the media's and their parents' demands, and studied until they had reached the best medical school in Korea.

Seolhee had always been the golden child, excelling in her studies, socially and physically. She had earned excellent grades, had the ability to make friends wherever she went, and was a beautiful young woman. Park Woohyun and Lee Hanna couldn't have been more prouder.

Until the incident.

...

Stars illuminated the ebony black blanket that draped over the sky, welcoming Seoul's busy night life, as crowds of people chatted, laughed and ate, ignorant as they enjoyed life as it came forward.

Hyunji bit into her hotteok, relishing the warmth of the food on a particularly cold night. But seeing the delighted faces of people around her, mostly content with their lives, warmed her heart.

If only she could feel the same.

But her attention was brought back to reality as she felt something heavy hit the point of her boots.

An Airpod.

Picking it up, the Park girl glanced to the person in front of her, who was already walking at a fast pace, hands shoved in their pockets, hood up.

Quickly, she ran towards them, lightly tapping their shoulder as she spoke. "Excuse me, you dropped- "

As their eyes met, a small gasp left the lips of the medical student as memories of the blue-haired racer flashed through her brain once more.

"J.One," She mumbled as a small tint of pink creeped up her neck, although, she was thankful her scarf hid it from view.

Jisung could not explain the strange, bubbling sensation in his stomach as he had made eye contact with the girl he had met at his race.

She looked adorable in her beige puffer jacket, a scarf tightly wrapped around her neck. A few stray hairs framed her face, and her cheeks were slightly pink from the cold.

"Hi," He swallowed.

"Hi," She smiled softly, extending her hand. "You dropped this,"

He glanced down towards her palm where his Airpod lay.

"I- Thank you," He took the small item from her palm, his fingers tingling as he brushed her hand. "Are you heading home?"

"Yes, I was coming back from my parents, and I craved some hotteok, so...."

"And you're walking alone?" Jisung demanded. "In the dark?"

"Yes?" Hyunji trailed off, confusion evident in her voice.

"I'll walk you back to the dorms," The Han boy muttered. "I'm not letting you go on your own,"

He began to take a few strides forwards, Hyunji watching him with a surprised expression. They barely knew each other, yet, he was still offering to walk her home.

"What are you waiting for?" Jisung had turned around, his blue hair glowing under the moonlight, resembling a halo. "Let's go,"

A smile graced Hyunji's lips as she followed the racer.
