~My Dead Friends (Tommy, Tubbo, and Ranboo Angst)~
-2269 words (Not including this)
Ranboo was sitting in his panic room, alone, like always. He had been crying for about an hour. Though he had been crying for about a week repeatedly. Coming and going from his panic room so no one could see him cry, letting his emotions flow like the river that used to surround L'manburg which had previously been blown up for the third time nonetheless. Though it wasn't going to be coming back this time. So, Tommy and Tubbo had gone to kill Dream, or at least that was their plan. Sam had tried to convince them to lock him up in the prison and serve a sentence instead.
But they would have much rather have had Dream gone for good. Ranboo was one of the people who was going with Punz to corner Dream and get rid of him for good. He didn't like the thought of witnessing someone's death but he wanted to help his friends. Sadly, the deaths he witnessed weren't at all the ones he expected to see, nor did he want to see. Tommy and Tubbo were dead, and it broke him. His heart had been shattered like glass and he couldn't take it. He didn't know what to do without those two idiots.
Tommy acted like he hated him but really they were starting to get along really well, and Tubbo was the little goofy bundle of joy that could make him laugh at any time. And now they were both gone, and they weren't coming back. He didn't know what to do, he wasn't functioning properly. He wasn't eating as much as he should, he wasn't getting much sleep, and he wouldn't talk to anyone. Not even Phil or Techno, which Ranboo had no doubt they weren't doing any better, at least not Phil. Ranboo let out a shaky sigh and looked at the obsidian floor under him. It was dark outside, pretty late, he could only guess it was getting close to if not already 4am.
"What am I doing. . ." He said to himself. "They wouldn't want to see me like this," he sighed, looking up at the ceiling and clenched his fist. "Ow..." he felt a slight pain on his cheek. "Ah," He was crying again. It didn't hurt much, just on his Enderman half. Since that half was sensitive to water. He sobbed, for a decent amount of time.
"Tommy...Tubbo...I-" He let out a shaky sob. "I just want you guys to come back. . ." he said, then scrunched up his knees to his chest and buried his face in them. "We know buddy, we know. We want to come back as much as you want us to." Ranboo's head shot up. He looked around the room, no one was there. He was confused because he was sure no one was around when he got to his panic room, and if there was they would have come down hours ago. "Is he alright? He looks afraid." Ranboo heard a worried voice say from somewhere in the room. "Like he's seen a ghost or something." "Not funny." "0Sorry."
Ranboo was getting more and more confused by the second. Where were the voices coming from? Where were the people the voices belonged to? Was he going crazy? Has his lack of sleep finally gone to his head? Those questions and more were swirling through his head. "Is he okay? Looks like he's about to be sick." "I'm sure he's alright! He's just having a rough time." to make sure he wasn't hearing things Ranboo, when he got his voice to come back to him, decided to say something.
"H-hello? W-who are you?" he asked. "Oh shit I think he's lost it." "Who'd you reckon he's talking too." one of the voices said. "You? I-i'm talking to you." He said. "Wait no. You don't think he can actually hear us do you?" "No! No way he can." They said, "No, I can hear you. Um, who are you? A-and w-where are you?" Ranboo asked. He had started to realize that the more he heard the voices talk, the more familiar they sounded. "Wait. . ." "OH MY GOD RANBOO!" one of the voices yelled, startling Ranboo. Suddenly a figure appeared out of thin air in front of him, and it seemed to be slightly glowing.
Ranboo felt a weight on his shoulders (Literally) which caused him to look up and see who it was. Crouching down in front of him, with a cheerful smile and bright eyes, was Tubbo. "Tubbo! You can't just burst out like that! What were you thinking man!?" Ranboo looked to the side to see a figure with a grumpy expression, many Band-Aids on his face, and his arms crossed appeared from nothing like Tubbo had. The one and only Tommyinnit. "T-Tommy?" Ranboo asked. Tommy let out a small sigh. "Ranboo." He said, "Ranboo!" Tubbo cheered, turning his attention back to him.
Tommy let out an annoyed scoff. "Hey Ranboo." said with a sheepish smile. "I-I b-but, I don't understand." Ranboo said tears were flowing even more than they were before. Tubbo let out a small giggle. "We didn't wanna leave you alone! Even if you didn't know we were still here we didn't wanna leave you!" Tubbo explained. "Yeah but we didn't exactly think you'd be able to see or hear us," Tommy mumbled under his breath. "Oh come on Tommy it was your idea to stay!" Tubbo shouted.
Tommy's cheeks lit up with embarrassment while Ranboo looked at him. "Tommy?" he asked and Tommy let out an annoyed groan. "Okay! Maybe, MAYBE. It was my idea to stay, big deal so what?" Ranboo's eyes lit up, he didn't think Tommy cared that much about him. "Oh! Yeah uh," Tommy said, reaching for something. Tubbo and Ranboo were both confused until Tommy pulled out a little purple flower. Ranboo let out a small gasp as Tommy stepped closer to him and knelt down. "Here," he said, starting to smile, "Have a flower." Ranboo kept crying, even more than he was if even possible.
He whipped his tears away before more had the chance to flow. "Y-you kept it? This whole time." he asked. Tommy answered with a nod and a smile, a genuine smile, he handed the flower to Ranboo. "Till the day I died." Tommy replied. Tubbo's smile slowly faded as he looked over to face Tommy, who's smile also left his face remembering what happened, and how Ranboo was feeling. They both looked back at him expecting a sad look, but he was still smiling. "S-sorry Ranboo, I didn't mean to bring it up." Tommy said , shoving his hands in his jean pockets.
Ranboo let out a little laugh. It was barely audible but they both heard it. "It's okay Tommy, honestly I don't think I can be sad about it when you're both here with me right now," he said. Tubbo gave Ranboo a hug, a big smile on his face. Ranboo looked at Tubbo's slightly transparent self, then at Tommy. Looking back and forth between the two slowly reminded him of what happened. "So, you guys are ghosts now huh?" Ranboo said, Tommy looked at him and Tubbo sat up. "Yeah I guess so, but if we're ghosts, we shouldn't be able to touch you right? But we can see." Tubbo said and poked Ranboo's arm giggling.
"And we wouldn't be able to hold physical objects. And I was holding the flower. . ." Tommy said, clearly deep in thought. He stood back up and put a hand on his chin and started pacing "Maybe those are just things people think. Ghostbur could hold objects and he hugged us all the time and he's dead." Tubbo said. Ranboo let out a sigh and pulled Tubbo closer to him. "Ranboo?" "Hm?" "What are you doing?" "Cuddling? It gives me comfort." Tubbo made an o shape with his mouth and snuggled into Ranboo. Tommy scoffed and walked over to them, confusing them both. He sat down at Ranboo's side and put his head on Ranboo's shoulder. "AWW!" Ranboo and Tubbo cued almost in sync. "SHUT UP!" Tommy yelled, being his angry self.
He huffed and crossed his arms. "If you're mad then why's your head still on my shoulder hm?" Ranboo asked smugly. Tubbo laughed, as Tommy blabbered on, making his excuses as to why he laid his head on Ranboo's shoulder. "And you call us clingy!" Tubbo said between laughs. "OH FUCK OFF MAN!" Tommy yelled and snuggled into Ranboo's shoulder. Ranboo gave a content sigh and laid his head on Tommy's. "You know, I kinda missed this," Ranboo said, "Missed what?" "You guys and your playful bickering! It's funny to watch." Ranboo laughed.
"Hmph!" Tommy scoffed, adjusting his position, getting more comfortable. They sat there for a while, in a comfortable silence. Ranboo had a question on his mind but he didn't want to ask it. He was enjoying the time he was getting with them, but this one question in his mind was killing him. SO he decided to get it over with. "D-did it hurt...?" he asked softly. "Hm?" Tubbo hummed.
"W-when you um...d-died, d-did it hurt." Ranboo asked shyly, afraid of the answer he'd get. Tommy and Tubbo both looked at him, their faces had gone dull. "I-I don't really remember. It happened in an instant. It did hurt, I know that for a fact. I remember the pain, but just a bit." Tubbo said, looking down at his hand. He got out of Ranboo's lap and laid at his side. Tommy was being surprisingly quiet. "U-um Tommy? You okay?" Ranboo asked. He heard a sniffle come from Tommy which worried him. "It hurt like hell. I remember everything. The pain, the fear, the sword piercing through my skin...I remember every damn bit of it. I-'' Tommy stopped, he started sobbing.
Not full on sobbing but he was sobbing. Ranboo just got more and more worried, he had never seen Tommy cry before and he never thought he'd have too. Seeing it now it just made him wanna cry too. Ranboo shifted himself so he could let Tommy crawl in front of him. Tommy practically clinged onto him the second he got the chance. "It still hurts Ranboo. I-it still hurts..." Tommy whispered. Ranboo put a hand on Tommy's head and let him snuggle up into his chest.
Tommy had never opened up to Ranboo this much, and he didn't know if he should be worried because of it or grateful because of it. "Shhhhh. I'm here Tommy." Ranboo whispered to Tommy, trying to give him some sort of comfort. "I-I'm sorry that I brought it up. . ." He said quietly. "Don't worry about it Ranboo I'm sure he'll be alright. Ever since we died he's been more sensitive than when we were alive, at least, he shows it more. When I found him he was a crying mess." Tubbo said sadly. "I was not!" Tommy mumbled, his face still buried in Ranboo's chest. "Oh come on Tommy don't act all tough, you were balling your eyes out when I found you," Tubbo said, putting his hand on Tommy's head. Tommy was silent for a bit before speaking again, "Maybe. . . just a bit." Tommy mumbled, "Tommy..." Ranboo started.
"It's okay, it's probably a whole lot to take in, being alive one minute and dead the next?" Ranboo said. ". . . Yeah. . .It's a lot to take in." Ranboo looked over to Tubbo who nodded at what Tommy had said. He hugged Ranboo's arm and snuggled into him. "It really is quite a lot to take in, I wonder if Ghostbur ever felt like this." Tubbo said with a sigh. "Ghostbur couldn't remember who he used to be, you really think he could feel like this?" Tommy asked in an annoyed tone. "Maybe, we wouldn't know." Tubbo huffed. "Maybe maybe not who cares, it's none of our business." Tommy said.
"He's got a point Tubbo." Ranboo told him. "Well, yeah maybe he, OW!" Tubbo backed up into the corner. Tommy and Ranboo looked at him, confused and worried. "You okay Tubbs?" Tommy asked. All he did was point up at the roof of the obsidian room. The two looked up to see there was a crack in the roof, sunlight seeping through it. When they saw what made Tubbo back up Tommy immediately went and sat next to Tubbo, trying to avoid the light. "What's wrong?" Ranboo asked them with a confused look.
"Well, Tommy and I, we're kind of like phantoms now, we can't really be in the light or else we'll burn." Tubbo explained. Ranboo's eyes widened once again. He was freaking out now, first he saw his friends lifeless bodys right in front of him, then he got them back, and now he's learning they can't be in the sunlight or they'll burn? That last bit confused them, they're dead aren't they? How could they burn if they're already dead? So he asked and they simply responded with "We don't know". The face that they didn't know much about themselves in the sense of how they exist now makes sense, since they died not even a month ago. So they were all confused together, just two of them were dead. "Sorry Ranboo, were just still trying to figure out how to cope with this ourselves." Tubbo said looking over to Tommy then to Ranboo. He looked at his two friends and smiled at them, "Well figure this out together."
