~Left Behind (Karlnapity Angst)~
-Three in one night baby let goooooooooooo!-
Sapnap was wondering around Kinoko Kingdom, not for any particular reason just trying to relax. He felt like he had been left behind lately. All his friends had left him, not to mention his own fiancé. Dream had been put in prison. George was either always asleep or no where in sight. Karl was usually nowhere to be seen. And Quackity was off in Las Navadas doing his own thing.
So he was feeling pretty alone. Anytime he saw Karl he acted different, like he was hiding something. And his eye's has turned a bright yellow color which worried Sapnap. He cared for his Fiancé, he asked him multiple times if something was wrong or if he was hiding something but each time he would either try reassuring him, or just walk away. As for Quackity, well he hadn't talked to him in ages, not since they started Kinoko Kingdom. He missed him he really did, but he was so busy with Kinoko and Quackity was busy with Las Navadas he was sure, so they just had no time to see each other. They didn't have contact with each other either.
At some point Quackity must have muted him and Karl on his communicator because their messages never went through anymore. Not that Karl had been sending him any messages, at least that's what he assumed. Anytime he mentioned Quackity's name Karl always seemed to get upset for some reason. But like everything else recently he wouldn't tell him why. That was all before the last hour. Everything was confusing and mysterious between the three, and now Sapnap wished things stayed that way. He went to find Quackity earlier that day and did.
It was amazing at first, Sapnap being able to see his Fiancé again, but then he ad the brilliant idea to bring him to Kinoko Kingdom. He'd get to see Karl, he'd get to see George, if he was there and wasn't sleeping, and he thought it would be great! And it was at first! He was giving Quackity a tour and he seemed interested in a way! A sarcastic way at that but still interested. And then they found Karl, that was the first time Quackity had seen him in his current state. Strange, mysterious, and acted like he was hiding something and they didn't know why.
Until they did. It was awful for Sapnap, he had to see the two people he loved argue and scream at each other. He tried to get them to relax but no matter how hard he tried they wouldn't listen to him. At one point he was sure they couldn't even hear him over their own screams. In that moment he wanted to cry, but he didn't. Instead he waited until after they were done. Which was what he was doing currently, crying as he walked around Kinoko.
Seeing them fight was probably the worst thing he ever had to have to witness. Other than seeing his best friend go to prison. But at this point he didn't know which one was worse. All he knew was that he wished he could go back in time and stopped himself from ever convincing Quackity to visit. He never wanted to see them fight like that again. Karl called Quackity a murderer, said they didn't have any history, said that he hated Quackity, was the cause of his death, and in the end Quackity said he never wanted to see Karl again. It was the worst fight he had ever seen.
He wanted to forget it all but he just couldn't, he couldn't forget something like that. Surely that memory was gonna stay with him forever. While he was walking the fight kept replaying in his head. Over and over again and it wouldn't stop. It was driving him crazy. he stopped walking and stared up at the sky. Trying to get them to talk again was pointless.
He knew it wouldn't end as well as he hoped. So why did he even try. "Sapnap!" A voice called taking him away from his thoughts. He turned around to see Karl approaching him. 'This better be an apology.' he thought to himself. "Hey Karl. . ." He muttered. As Karl got closer the cheerful smile on his face became more apparent.
This confused Sapnap, why was he so happy after what just happened. He came up to Sapnap and hugged him. "Hi!" He said cheerfully. Now Sapnap was upset, he pushed Karl off of him in anger. "Are you serious!? Karl what's your problem!?" Sapnap yelled at him. Karl gave him a confused look. "What do you mean?" He asked.
Sapnap was getting angrier and angrier by the second. "What do I mean? What do I mean!? Karl! You just called our Fiancé a murderer! You just made him never want to come here ever again he probably hates us more than he did before!" Sapnap screamed at him. Though Karl's expression didn't change in to one of concern or sadness. Instead it changed to one of annoyance. "Sapnap he killed me. He took one of my canon lives for some stupid plan." He said. "A plan you agreed to!" Sapnap yelled. "Listen Karl, I don't know what's up with you lately but your not the same! It's like I don't even know you anymore!" After he yelled that he ran.
Ran away from Kinoko, away from Karl, away from his problems. He ran away from everything he worked for to see the only person he felt like he could trust anymore. He ran to Las Navadas, to Quackity. Once he got there he was exhausted, he had been crying the entire way there and for more than half of the trip he was running. So by the time he got there he was extremely tired and you would think he was all out of tears, but he wasn't. They were still flowing down that face. He slowly walked around Las Navadas trying to find the one he was looking for, but he was no where to be seen.
"Hello Sapnap from Kinoko Kingdom!" A cheerful voice came from behind him. He turned around to see a man in a suit similar to Quackity's, light brown hair, and what looked like slime on his hair and shoulder. "Hey, who are you? And how do you know my name?" Sapnap asked. "Quackity from Las Navadas has told me a lot about you Sapnap from Kinoko Kingdom!" The man responded with a smile. "Quackity? Are you two friends?" He asked. "Oh yes! Quackity from Las Navadas is who I can call my best friend!" The man cheered. "That great! It's nice to know Quackity has a friend he cares about. But, do you happen to know where he is? I-I want to see him." Sapnap said, wiping some tears from his eyes.
"Yes I do! Would you like me to take you to him?" He asked. "Yes please that would be nice." Sapnap said. "Okay! Follow me Sapnap from Kinoko Kingdom!" The man said, again cheerfully, and started walking. "Thank you, uh. . . what is your name?" Sapnap asked. "I do not have a specific name. But Quackity from Las Navadas calls me Slime. So I am Slime!" He said. "Well, thank you Slime." Sapnap thanked. Slime lead him to a tall white tower with a water elevator up.
"Uh, is there a stair case? I don't really want to be getting wet right now." Sapnap told Slime. "There are no stairs outside, but there are stairs inside! And towels, very fluffy towels!" Slime told him. Sapnap sighed and went up the elevator after Slime. When he exited through the top the was wet and cold, as he expected. And lucky for him standing on the balcony was Quackity. "Quackity from Las Navadas you have a visitor!" Slime said happily. "Who is it Slime?" Quackity asked not turning around.
"It's Sapnap from Kinoko Kingdom!" He replied. Quackity sighed as he slowly turned to face the two. "Sapnap I don't care what you say I'm not going to go back and-" He stopped once he say Sapnap with tears dripping down his face. "Sap. . ." Quackity started but didn't finish. All he did was extended his arms out for Sapnap. He gladly excepted and ran to Quackity and hugged him tightly. "Slime, can you give us a minute? Please." Quackity asked looking over to his friend.
Slime had the most sympathetic smile Quackity had ever seen, nodded and walked down the stairs. Quackity was happy to know that Slime was starting to understand social ques, but he could celebrate that later. He had someone else to focus on right now. "Sap what happened?" Quackity asked. "Karl. . ." Sapnap sobbed. "What did he do?" Quackity asked trying to be as sympathetic as possible. He was mad at Karl before for what he said to him, but making their Fiancé cry was crossing the line in Quackity's eyes.
He had gone way to far. Sapnap wasn't one to cry easily, so seeing him come in with tear filled eyes scared Quackity. "He's not the same Q. . . I don't know what happened but he just. . ." He let out a sob before continuing, gripping onto Quackity tighter. "He's not our Karl. Not anymore." Sapnap told him. Quackity brought them over to a booth so they could sit down. Sapnap now leaning on Quackity while sitting in his lap. "I know Sap, I know." Quackity said trying to sooth him.
He held Sapnap close to him, obviously not planning on letting go for a long time. They sat there for a while in a comfortable silence. Quackity was happy to have Sapnap with him of course but sad to see him in this condition. So he was going to do as much as he could to cheer him up. "Quackity. . ." Sapnap mumbled. "Yeah Sap," Quackity replied. "I miss Karl." He said beginning to tear up again. And with a heavy heart, Quackity responded, "I miss him too."
