you're you and that's enough | ninjago oc

my last one-shots had lots of upsetting aspects to them so when the_quiet_jade requested a little Lloygan from Forgive Forget I jumped at the chance to get into some fluff. So let's begin!

Warning because I have absolutely no plan for this whatsoever so things could get messy
Double warning cheddar popcorn ahead!

Lloyd has dealt with many emotions. His own and the ones of others. As a leader he was empathetic and compassionate, always ready to help bear the burdens of others. But as a boyfriend that also meant working through many mood swings that came his way.

He has seen happy Reagan, laughter and spontaneous romantic acts kept her that way. They'd sit on the couch and have movie nights or go out on hikes together. There was always so much love.

Lloyd has also experienced sad Reagan, various things could make her sad like the death of her grandmother, a movie, or maybe something particularly disturbing on the news. Wrap her tight, pile up as many blankets as she wants, make sure she knows that he's there for her.

But angry Reagan was something totally different. It was fragile and Lloyd was reeling of the stress from his lack of knowledge on the situation. Of course she's been angry before but there was been very little times where she has been this angr at him and usually he knew why. But as Reagan steamed and slammed things around in their shared apartment, Lloyd locked himself in the bathroom and quickly pulled out his phone.

He debated on who to call. Lloyd has almost never seen Cole's girlfriend, Siena, angry, the sweet girl had a beautiful character trait called 'keeping her cool' and 'knowing how to be well behaved' that only ten percent of the human population were able to achieve. Gwen has been angry many times. He's seen her yell at football players on the television and destroy Wu's tea pot. But Zane was very hard to understand and Lloyd wondered how long it would take him to figure out the cryptic nindroids words. And then there was Kai and Isla. Lloyd has seen her angry many times. She wasn't an angry person. She was just in a relationship with a dummy who did a lot of stupid stuff. So maybe asking the dummy wasn't the best idea. Lloyd pondered over what to do for a second longer and winced as the sound of something smashing was heard.

Finally his fingers scrolled through his contacts and hit a number.

"Hello?" A female voice asked after a few rings.

Lloyd peered through the key hole, barely making out his girlfriend's shape as she moved down the hall.

"Hey, Nya." He said in a hushed voice.

There was crackling on the other line, the sound of his friend moving the phone around and turning it to speaker as she did something.

"Why are you whispering?" Nya asked quizzically. "Did you finally grow out of those stupid graphic novels and go get a real book at the library?"

"What? No!" It came out too loud. "I mean- no."

"Then what's going on green-bean?"

Lloyd pinned the device between his shoulder and his cheek as he grabbed some towels off of the counter and began stuffing them by the crack under the door in attempt to muffle their conversation.

"I sort of have a problem." He murmured warily.

"Uh oh." Lloyd could practically hear her rolling her eyes. "What did you do?"

Lloyd made an offended noise. "Why are you assuming it was my fault?"

"Were you talking before she got angry?"

Lloyd paused his stuffing of the door and squinted in confusion. "....yes?"

"There you go." She said like it answered everything.

"Hey babe, who are you chatting with?" Lloyd grimaced at the sound of Jay kissing her.

"Reagan's mad at Lloyd and the idiot doesn't know why." Nya told him.

Lloyd scowled and huffed, sitting back on his haunches and taking the phone back into his hand. "You know, I'm starting to regret calling you."

There was snickering. "Sorry," Nya said, not sounding sorry at all. "What happened before she got angry."

"Um..." Lloyd tried to recount the scenes. "I...I don't know. Normal stuff, routines."

"Okay, there are a few main reasons why girls can get mad at you." Nya said, using the same tone she does when laying off the things they needed to get done for a mission.

"Maybe I should hear this." Jay joked.

"Shush. Number one, don't interrupt her!"

Lloyd sighed and began to get more comfortable as Jay meekly apologized and Nya carried on.

"One reason partners get angry is if they come across an old picture of you and your ex. But considering you don't have an ex that's obviously not it."

Lloyd scowled. "Thanks." He said sarcastically.

"Another is if you didn't respond to her complaint the way she wanted you to. If she says she's fat don't go into all that stupid 'I love you the just the way you are' tell her she's NOT fat." Nya continued.

Lloyd scrunched his brow. "Do you actually get angry about this?"

"Hey." Nya snapped sharply. "Don't get to high and mighty on me with all that 'girl stereotype' stuff. You boys get angry about stupid things too. Like when I threw out Jay's useless toy."

"IT WAS AN ACTION FIGURE!"

"It's not my fault you didn't notice me slowly taking stuff out of our room and tossing them!"

"Guys!" Lloyd cut in.

"Did you forget to do something? Did you ignore her when she was talking to you? Did you fail to notice anything new about her look? Did you say something stupid? Were you just being a jerk?" Nya listed off one after the other.

"I don't think I did any of those!" Lloyd said helplessly. "I did the dishes, I complemented her smile, I listened to everything she said..."

Pause. "You didn't say anything about her period as a comment on her mood swings did you?"

"No! Of course not! Who do you think I am? Jay?" Lloyd asked offended.

"Hey!" Jay protested.

Nya sighed. "Look Lloyd, we all have bad days. I have been a witness of your teenage angst many times. Just give her a little space and try and figure out what she's trying to tell you."

"Okay." Lloyd sighed, defeated. He suddenly felt really tired. "Thanks."

"No problem, Hulk."

Before Lloyd could argue against the nickname the line cut off and he was met by the blaring of being hung up on. Lloyd reluctantly heaved himself to his feet and twisted open the door knob. Cautiously peering out. He was met with eerie silence. Lloyd strained his ears, using his ninja skills to track her down to the small sitting space by the window. Reagan was sitting there, staring blankly at a laptop that had long turned off.

"Rea?" Lloyd called cautiously. Reagan jumped and directed her gaze to where he hovered nervously in the doorway. She cleared her throat awkwardly and closed the laptop, rubbing her eyes.

"Um, hey come in." She said hoarsely.

Lloyd stepped in the small alcove, coming before her and dropping into a kneel. He stared into her eyes, she averted them and looked to her torn jeans, fiddling with the fabric. He read her mood and gently placed his hand on hers.

"What's going on, darling." He said gently. "What can I do? What did I do?"

Reagan sucked in a breath. For a second Lloyd thought he blew it, slamming an imaginary knuckle to his forehead, repeatedly yelling "stupid" in his mind. But to his surprise she let out a choked sob.

"I'm sorry." She whimpered, small shimmering droplets coming from the corners of her eyes as she sniffed and brought her hands over her face.

"Oh no, Rea..." Sad Reagan. That he knew what to do. Lloyd bundled her into his arms and embraced her tight, kissing her temple.

"You gotta tell me what's eating you." Lloyd murmured into her hair as she pressed her face into his shoulder. "If you don't let it out it'll chew through your walls like candy."

Reagan scrunched up her face and drew back to give him an odd look. "Sorry." Lloyd admitted. "Not my best analogy."

Reagan was silent for a moment. "It was a lot of things. I got a bad grade, I was late for work, some old lady was...really rude, I mean- how could a little thing like that pack so much venom? And....and I was starting to miss grandma and everything was becoming too much because I have a test due and I haven't even studied because I don't understand my stupid assignment." She was rambling now. "And I took it out on and I'm so, so, sorry."

Her words were tearful again and she was starting to cry some more, Lloyd reached around her and found the tissue box, grabbing a few and handing it to her. She gladly took them and wiped her snotty nose as Lloyd waited patiently for her to calm down.

"It's okay, Reagan." Lloyd told her softly.

She shook her head adamantly. "No it's not. I should be better, I have to be better. Your so good to me and I don't deserve you so-"

"Is that what's this is about?" Lloyd frowned. "You're still upset at high school?"

Reagan froze, mouth agape. Lloyd always seemed to see right through her, read her like a book. She chewed on her lip. "Maybe." She whispered.

Lloyd shook his head again, squeezing her tight. He was quiet for a moment before speaking, carefully planning out his words like he always did. "Remember the fight we had on Christmas Eve?"

Reagan snorted. "Yeah, you punched that stupid owl in my mom's living room. Gosh that thing was ugly."

Lloyd chuckled. "That's not what I meant." He smiled softly at her. "That one had been on me. I had been rude and a real jerk to you."

Reagan smiled back at him, cupping his face. "And yet you felt so guilty that you were crying over that beautiful desert Zane made us and then threw it all up."

Lloyd grimaced. "Yes, thank you for adding that part in."

Reagan laughed, wiping her glassy eyes. "But do you recall what you said to me?" Lloyd asked her.

She pressed her lips together. Lloyd nudged her, a goofy grin on his face. "Come on." He prodded.

Reagan rolled her eyes. "I don't care how many fights we get in, how many mistakes you make, but if your heart is true and the loves still there than I will always forgive you." She repeated.

Lloyd hugged her triumphantly, earning another wet laugh. "That's so cheesy." Reagan huffed, shoving him gently in the shoulder. "Why did you have to remind me of that?"

Lloyd stared at her dead in the eyes. "Because I don't care how many fights we get in, how many mistakes you make, but if your heart is true and the loves still there than I will always forgive you."

Reagan blinked, the sincerity so rich in his voice. He was a sap, a sentimental sweetheart, that was so full of purity and light.

"We're a pair, Reagan." Lloyd said earnestly, clasping their hands tighter and raising them. "Reagan Angela Williams, you are one half of us."

Reagan smiled, gently kissing him on the cheek. "Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon," she said, voice a little craggy from crying. "You are my other half."

Note*****
Despite my desperate urge to drown this story in angst and heart stabbing sorrow I managed to pull through and create a wholesome, sappy, one-shot!

*dramatic bow*

So I have never been in a romantic relationship before unless you count the boy who used to chase me around in first grade so I don't actually know the ins and outs of it. I don't mean to offend anyone with girlfriend stereotypes... I'm a girl too just one who didn't know what couples would fight over. So like a dork I literally searched it up on google and used what the website said. It was elite daily and I was just going by what these people said because it seemed accurate according to book and sitcoms.

I hope you enjoyed, I tried to pack in some comedy and not too much sop but I'm a bit of a hopeless romantic so I here's a spoiler for future reference:

JUST ASSUME EVERYTHING WILL BE CHEESY.

You'll be swimming in cheddar my books are so cheesy.

Feel free to toss popcorn all you want but that's just how I roll.

Now I'm off to go saw at my mozzarella, please vote if you liked it! If you didn't then don't I guess.
