[camera pans out on all the ninja minus Kai]
"We received word that the fire ninja, Kai Smith, and his partner, Isla James, are now married." Gayle spoke excitedly into the camera as the guests settled in. "Are you able to give us insight on the behind the scenes of the wedding?"
"It was a very nice ceremony-" Lloyd tried to start out but Gayle cut him off.
"No, I mean- before the wedding. Was there a bridezilla situation?"
Lloyd seemed to stumble on his breath. "A bride...what now?"
"Bridezilla. A woman whose behavior in planning her wedding is regarded as obsessive or intolerably demanding." The master of ice pitched in.
Nya snorted, as the rest of the ninja exchanged looks. "Oh no, there was no bridezilla."
Gayle frowned as stifled nervous snickers continued. "Am I missing something."
"Oh it was horrible!" Jay finally burst out. "Kai was so nuts I almost wanted to rip off my head!"
The ninja made mumbles of agreement.
[footage switches to Kai and Isla]
"No. It all went smoothly." Kai said with a shrug.
Isla raised and eyebrow and gave him a look. Kai glanced at her, startled. "What? It did!"
Gayle glanced back and forth between them as Isla pressed her lips together, a poorly disguised smile twitching at the corners of her mouth. Gayle ruffled through her notes as she looked at Kai, unconvinced.
"It says here that there was a...groomzilla situation was it has been labeled." Gayle said carefully.
Isla pressed a hand over her mouth as Kai's jaw dropped. "That's not true! Besides, Isla was just as freaked out as I was!"

"No, I'm fine." Isla said distractedly as she sat in a robe, nose deep in a book while Trent was working with her hair, hair pins stuck in between his teeth as he looped curls back and forth.
Nya exchanged a look with Helen as they stood nervously beside the bride.
"Are you sure?" Aunt Helen prodded. "Getting married is a big deal. It can spur some...anxiety."
"Mmhm." Isla mumbled as she flipped the page.
"Don't worry," Trent patted her on the back. "When I'm finished even Aphrodite will want to gauge her eyeballs out with her fingernails because she can't be as beautiful as you."
Aunt Helen's eyebrows almost disappeared under her hairline and Nya had a sick look on her face as Trent cheerfully brushed out another section.
"Great." Isla replied, her eyes moving through the text.
"Well... I guess she isn't panicking." Nya said uncomfortably in a hushed tone as Aunt Helen and her strode away. Aunt Helen nodded, a perplexed look on her face when suddenly the doors were slammed open.
"GUY'S, I THINK KAI'S MENTALLY UNSTABLE!!!!" Jay shrieked.
"Mmhm. Perfect." Isla said.
🔥💐🔥
"THIS IS ALL HORRIBLE!!! EVERYTHING IS HORRIBLE! THE SUIT IS HORRIBLE, THE DECOR IS HORRIBLE, THE FOOD IS- oh, wait. The food is actually really good." Kai licked the leftover crumbs off his fingers before he continued ranting at an unnatural volume. "THE ONLY THING THAT ISN'T HORRIBLE IS THE FOOD AND THE BRIDE!!!"
The ninja all stared at each other with huge eyes. Unsure how to deal with this situation. Sure, Jay had been pretty bad on his wedding day but he mostly just sweated, hyperventilated, and talked at a rapid pace. Kai, however, was a whole different level of crazy husband-to-be.
"Zane, what do we do?!!" Cole hissed.
"I haven't a clue." Zane looked equally bewildered.
"What are you talking about? You always have a clue! You're a nindroid! You're the..the um- clue master!" Jay stage-whispered, his voice starting to go high pitched.
"I...understand nothing in that statement." Zane replied, his brow furrowed.
"Jay," Lloyd said sternly in a quiet tone, grabbing the Jay by the shoulder roughly and leaning in close. "Go get Nya and tell her that her brother has gone psycho and will potentially burn this place down if she doesn't get the heck over here."
He nodded quickly a couple hundred times before zipping with a wide berth around Kai and running out the door.
"Kai, I think it would be best if you sat down." Zane said calmly.
"No, I will NOT sit down, Zane." Kai snapped, jabbing his finger, repeatedly into the nindroid's chest, making an impression in his suit.
"Kai!" Lloyd tried to keep his own mental state under control as he fought down irritation and shoved the older boy roughly into a chair. "You can't keep going in circles like this! You need to calm down, please."
Usually the big, huge, emerald puppy eyes were enough to get Kai to relent but Kai has too much adrenaline racing through his veins, too much worry robbing his brain of logical thought. Kai just sat there, eyes dancing about like a maniac as his knee moved up and down, up and down, up and down, until Lloyd pressed a hand on it too and forced it to stop.
"This was a huge mistake. Why did I say yes? Why did I think this was a good idea? Why didn't I make the wedding date later? Why did I eat the last Oreo?" Kai jabbered, hand gripping his hair before he shot up. Mood changing so dramatically it was almost comical as he marched out the door. "WHY AM I SEE EGG SHELL WHITE STREAMERS INSTEAD OF CLOUD WHITE????"
Lloyd rubbed his temples as Wu came pattering in. The old ma was dressed in a suit and he was holding his staff as he walked over to the table holding the taste testers for the appetizers. He took some sushi and dipped it in the soy sauce before popping it in his mouth. He made a noise of approval as he began to work at the whole platter.
"Master Wu!" Lloyd said irritably, making the old man freeze with a California roll halfway in his mouth. "Are you just going to stand there, eating those while we have to deal with Kai AND the wedding arrangements?"
"Yeah, Master Wu!" Cole clomped over and snatched the platter away with a glare. "These are for the guests!" But as he turned away Cole began to possessively nibble at the sushi.
"My apologies, students." But he did give Cole a scowl before he smoothed over his demeanour. "I shall go find Isla's fathers and help with anything they need."
"Thank you." Lloyd said pointedly, looking at Cole.
Cole shoved a few in his mouth when he realized what his leader was saying. "Oh! Yes, I'll be right on that." The earth ninja quickly followed Master Wu away.
"Maybe we should locate Kai before he makes the photographer cry again." Zane suggested.
Lloyd let out another long sigh. "That sounds like a good idea."

"Kai! What are you doing?" Nya's enraged shriek bounced off the churches tall ceilings as she dragged her brother away from a tall man robed in white.
"I don't know who he is! And he was messing with the books and things!" Kai hissed, fighting against her death grip.
Nya smacked him in the back of the head, making him yell. "That's the priest, you idiot! He's officiating your wedding!"
Kai's eyes widened. "Ohhh..." he winced. "So I shouldn't have sworn at him?"
"KAI!" Nya smacked him some more with her hands, giving him a few kicks for good measure.
"Hey! Stop it! What's wrong with you?" Kai yelped. He shoved her away. "I can't get married with a black eye!"
Nya scrunched up her face but unfortunately he was right. "Fine! But get back to the room and get ready! We have everything under control!"
🔥💍🔥
"What am I looking at?" Aunt Helen said in a deadpan voice.
"Don't get mad." Harry said carefully. Her brother-in-law contemplated the right thing to say. "They are really cuddly. And I think they will really add a certain...feel to the room."
"Yes! Agreed! A feeling like oh-there's-a-giant-rabbit-right-beside-the-alter!" Helen said sarcastically.
"In my defence, I thought they were smaller!" Harry told her, glancing awkwardly at the giant stuffed bunny beside him.
Helen pinched the bridge of her nose as she heaved another deep breath. "And what would you have done with these....normal sized rabbits."
"Centre pieces!" Harry said like it was obvious. "They would look so charming with the flower arrangements I have and the kids would like to play with them, right Leif?"
Leif glanced up from where he was doing something on his phone to squint at the man. "I'm fifteen." Leif reminded him with an unimpressed tone.
"Oh." Harry frowned.
Helen waved her hand in the air. "It doesn't matter! Just put the vermin somewhere so the guests don't notice it!"
"Ethan! Your sister is insulting my rabbit!" Harry sniffed as he dragged the giant plush past his husband.
Pops gave a confused look at the large stuffed mammal, slowly pivoting to watch it leave. "I'm....not going to ask." Pops shook his head a little before he stepped up to Aunt Helen, his tone dropping into a whisper.
"We have a problem." He told her softly.
"Another problem?" Aunt Helen sighed. "What is it this time?"
"The rings...they're..." Pops winced. "Well...."
Aunt Helen impatiently motioned for him to get on with it. Pops pulled out the box he had stored safely in his zipper pocket, opening it to reveal two rings. They were perfect!
For a children's birthday party.
"Why." Aunt Helen said slowly. "Why are these plastic rings with animals on them?"
"I'm not exactly sure." Pops grimaced, slipping the box back in his pocket.
"Well we'll need to get new ones fast!" Aunt Helen snapped.
Pops ran a hand through his hair. "Well I have an idea but..."

Jay did a double take when he entered the room.
It was quiet.
Too quiet.
Jay suddenly was aware of the soft thudding noise coming from the pitch darkness. With a concerned noise Jay flicked on the lights. Kai was dressed sharply in his black tuxedo and red tie. His hair had been wrangled and a small flower was pinned to his chest pocket. He looked great!
Except for the fact he was thumping his head against the wall.
"Are...you okay?" Jay asked.
"Noooo." Kai moaned. "I'm about to marry the girl I'm so damn in love with and I'm going to ruin her life in the process of it."
"Kai..." Jay sighed but before he could sympathize with his friend and offer a few words of encouragement or wisdom he was suddenly shoved out of the doorway.
There stood the bride herself. Her wild curly hair had been pinned on a half-up do with part of it secured in a bun while the rest flowed down her back.
Isla has been adamant that veils were, in her words, "the most goddamn worst thing to wear on your wedding- sorry Nya, you looked great on yours- but there no way I'm ever going to wear that atrocious piece of plastic wrap." So instead she bore a small jewelled pin on the side of her head.
She also vetoed against a wedding dress. As well as the traditional colour white. When Kai asked about she simply told him that he could wear white if he liked it so much so Kai dropped it after telling her the colour clashed with his hair. Isla's alternative looked amazing on her. A lovely deep red pantsuit that had a beautiful long train that feathered like flames. It was slim and feminine but fierce- just like Isla.
"Kai Smith." She narrowed her eyes at him.
"Eep." Jay squeaked, scrambling back on the floor.
"Uh... you shouldn't be here, it's bad luck!" Kai hurried out, backing away. His soon-to-be-wife promptly ignored him.
"I'm trying to work on a wedding and what do I hear? That the priest quit? That you're going rage on everyone? That you're..." she swallowed. "Questioning...us?"
Kai suddenly felt like a horrible person. "Well now it sounds bad..." he said softly.
"You're stressed, I get it." Isla turned away, breathing heavy. "But...I'm stressed too. Words...words that have been whispered ever since we started dating are always echoing in my ears. Doubt. Rejection. Not..not being good enough. Kai..... I just...and then I hear you're voice asking them-" her voice began to get choked up.
"Oh...this is really awkward." Jay squeaked as he tried to sink into the floor.
"Isla..." Kai sighed and wrapped his arms around her. "I'm so sorry. I didn't think... I wasn't thinking. I've made a lot of dumb mistakes Isla but marrying you...being with you will never be one of them."
He pulled back, smiling at her and brushing a tear away with his thumb. "I'll do better."
"Really?" Isla sniffed.
"Of course. We should be happy." Kai told her.
"Great." Isla straightened. All remnants of the vulnerable girl were gone. If someone New had just walked in they wouldn't have known she had been crying. "Glad that's done. You better fix this, jerk-face. before I get tired and walk out of here to go to the library."
She spun on her heel, leaving Kai and Jay gaping as she made her way out.
"Whah...how?" Kai babbled.
"Oh honey," Isla said in a sweet voice with a teasing smile. "I'm an actress." She tossed him a wink before slamming the door so loud Jay jumped.
Kai shook his head but there was a dreamy smile on his face. "I'm so glad I'm marrying her."

Lloyd scanned the faces as everyone filed in. Suddenly a hand grabbed him by the arm and jerked him to the side. He stumbled and almost crashed into the tree.
Why did they have to choose a park?
He grumbled. Of course he knew though. It had been where Kai confessed his feelings to Isla. Of course she had wholly rejected him but they weren't focusing on that apparently.
Lloyd shook his head and turned to see Nya glaring at him. "What?" He asked in an irritated tone.
"Where Kai?" Nya demanded.
"Relax, Jay's bringing him." Lloyd scowled. Just because he was the best man doesn't mean she could interrogate him.
"How is he?" Nya asked a little more kinder.
"Better." Lloyd was suddenly distracted by something. "Is that a giant rabbit?"
Someone grabbed his shoulder. "Hey Green Bean." Lloyd rolled his eyes but smiled with relief at the sight of the groom.
"You made it, firecracker." Lloyd shot back, nudging him in the shoulder.
"Behave." Nya chided with no bite as she gave them a smile. She whispered something to Kai before she left.
"You ready?" Lloyd asked the older boy as they positioned themselves.
"Yes." Kai said earnestly.
Lloyd felt a smile tilt at his lips. "Good."
Everyone settled in. The rest of the team squished into the front seats, huge grins on their faces as they gave Kai thumbs up. Wu made his way into the alter. Lloyd gave him a questioning gaze as he positioned himself where the officiant was supposed to stand.
"Wha-"
"Just roll with it." Kai whispered.
A murmur broke out as the doors opened. Zane and his girlfriend Gwendolyn's cat marched out. A corsage attaches to Cotton's collar. There was laughter from the guests as the flower-cat patterned his way down. Next we're the brides maids. Cecilia gave a strained smile as Trent practically dragged her along the isle, skipping around and getting in the unfortunate people facing the isle's faces. Leif made his way down next. An excited grin on his face as he stopped and stood beside Lloyd and near Kai. Kai reached around Lloyd to give him a fist pump. Then there was Tom, Isla's dad who went with his partner before sitting in his spot on the brides side of the chairs. After him Harry came scurrying down the walk way, waving enthusiastically before sitting. And last was the bride herself.
Isla was led on by both Pops and Aunt Helen. She was a goddess. A smile on her face as she walked slowly down. She stopped by people and took their hands. She held her bouquet in her right hand and easily used it to hit Jay in the head on the way past.
Lloyd heard a sniffle to his right. He glanced over to see Kai crying like a baby as he stared at her. Lloyd chuckled a little and patted him on the back as the groom struggled to get a grip.
Isla could see him crying. She laughed a little but there was only love in her eyes as she watched him. She made it to the alter and positioned herself in front of Master Wu was he cleared his throat.
"Welcome, family, friends and loved ones. We gather here today to celebrate the wedding of Kai and Isla. You have come here to share in this formal commitment they make to one another, to offer your love and support to this union, and to allow Kai and Isla to start their married life together surrounded by the people dearest and most important to them."
Isla felt Kai's gaze on her as Wu continued on about marriage. He was staring into her eyes with so much affection that her heart seemed to pulse. He always seemed to look at her like that. Isla smiled.
"Do you, Kai Smith, take this woman to be your wedded wife?" Wu turned to Kai.
"I do." Kai said. His voice was a little hoarse and the tears kept coming but he managed to get the words out. Isla choked out silent laughter as she buzzed with excitement that gave her goosebumps all over her skin.
"Do you, Isla Gladys Desdemona-" snort from Leif, glare from Isla- " Smith, take this man to be your wedded husband?" Wu asked.
Isla blinked softly at her groom. "I do."
Wu nodded and continued on, his words were being drowned out and the couple simply stared into each other's eyes, echoing his as he did the vows.
"Would you like to say anything to each other?" Wu said at last.
They nodded. Kai began to first. "Isla..." voice crack as he choked more on his tears. Isla shook her head and took his hands, allowing him to take a few breaths. "Isla, you are everything to me. You are my everything. I know that we will have our trials. I know that there will be a fight with every turn but that's what makes us...us. That's what makes this life an adventure. Ever since I saw you smart the teacher in high school, sitting at the back of the class with your book and sharp tongue I was drawn to you. And I don't think that...that pull- that red string has ever stopped bringing me back to you."
Isla felt her eyes finally mist and she wiped at her eyes. "Kai," Isla began. "I was so afraid to love you. Because love is what makes you vulnerable and weak. But it's also what makes you strong. Kai...when I'm with you I am so much stronger. You make me a better person and...when I'm with you I feel..." she stumbled. What did she feel? She felt so much. It was so hard to explain. It was this wholeness, this tug, this blanket of warmth, this feeling inside that made her smile and laugh in a way she never had before. But it was simple. It was all tied up in this one word.
"You make me feel love." Isla stared into his eyes. "I feel love. I know love. This is what it feels like. And I love you."
There were claps as people wiped their eyes and Wu sniffed a little. Coughing when they turned to him in surprise.
"Ahem." The usually straight faced master struggled to pull himself together. "May I have the rings?"
Leif stepped forwards. Two beautiful shining bands were handed to him as Wu talked about the rings and the couple slipped them on each others fingers.
"You found new rings." Harry whispered to Pops.
"Yeah," Pops whispered back. "Don't tell Isla but they're actually Tom and I's old wedding rings."
"Aw-" Harry paused suddenly. "Wait...you mean you gave your daughter you and your ex-husbands old rings from a failed marriage."
Pops winced. "It only sounds bad when you say it like that."
"By the power of your love and commitment, and the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife! You may kiss each other!" Wu announced at last.
Isla wasted no time, easily taking Kai and pressing her lips to his. They were gentle and loving, just like he was. She felt butterflies in her stomach as she dipped him, making him laugh in surprise.
Isla pulled away, nose to nose with her now husband as everyone laughed and cheered. As her eyes met his amber ones suddenly the rest of the world seemed to fade away.
"I love you." Kai breathed.
Isla smiled. "That's why you married me, idiot."
authors note****
*sniffle* I'm not crying, you're crying!
Gosh, I can't believe it. Now two of my girls are married. Wow, i sound like a mother. XD.
I wanted to give Isla something fun and unique so I thought a red pantsuit was the way to go!
Usually I go for the bun when it comes to beautiful wedding hairstyles because the up-dos are just so pretty! But Isla's hair is very curly and not exactly best for buns so I thought having it in a half up and half down would be a nice way to show off her beautiful curly hair!
Anyways, this one-shot was super long. (not samseaa long but still long) Thanks for sticking through it!
The wedding stuff was a script I found online. I added in some stuff that they didn't have but I basically did copy and paste. Anyways, my authors note is getting long- like always so I'm gonna go now.
Thank you for all the support and the 3K reads on Playing With Fire this is done in celebration for! I really appreciate it!!!
