Warning: some cheese and Lloyd being a stupid idiot

Title is inspired by the song from High School Musical The Musical The Series
********

She was going to do it.

Reagan was going to propose to Lloyd. She got butterflies in her stomach just thinking about it. A swing of giddiness that made her jump up and down like a five year old. But she couldn't help it. Lloyd was her soulmate. She just knew it. Fate led him to her and she was going to cling on and not let anything split them apart.

So that meant sealing the deal with a ring.

"I'm going to propose." Reagan felt a grin pull at the corners of her mouth as blurted the words out.

The whole group, plus romantic others, were sitting on the couch and having a movie night. Lloyd had to leave to go to the washroom and you know how guys are when they go to the bathroom. They take forever. So, Reagan seized the opportunity to tell his family.

Kai practically inhaled his water that he had been drinking and began coughing violently. Nya thwacked him hard on the back to help him recover. Jay had been handing a bowl of popcorn to Cole and unfortunately it had been porcelain. So, when the master of lightning dropped it on the ground there was a horrible crash as it split into pieces.

Bad timing. Reagan cringed guiltily.

"What?" Kai's voice was shrill.

"I'm going to propose to Lloyd." Reagan repeated.

The fire ninja was already shaking his head hard. "No! No, no, no, no. He's too young!"

Reagan's brow furrowed. "He's....twenty-five."

"He is?" Kai looked perplexed. "No. That can't be. I swear he was sixteen."

"Just do the math, Kai. It's not that hard." Isla told him bluntly. "Lloyd's a grown adult now."

"I feel as if Lloyd grew up a long time before some of us here." Zane commented dryly, his gaze sliding to where Cole was digging at the dropped food and trying to sort what was edible and what was shards of bowl. Then he ate the food right off the floor.

Gwen patted him on the shoulder. "It's the five second roll, Zane. You can't blame them."

"Are you sure about this, Reagan? It's a big commitment." Siena smiled at her kindly. "Don't rush because others are getting married. Make sure you're ready." Cole finished eating stuff off the floor and gave her a dopey grin, pecking her on the cheek.

"Aw. Nightingale, you're so wise." He told her.

Reagan shook her head. "I'm ready. I can feel it. I am so so ready to start this new chapter."

Before anyone could say anything else Lloyd stepped into the room and everyone fell silent.

"What?" Lloyd asked, stepping back when everyone stared at him. "What is it?" His eyes dragged to the broken porcelain.

His brow furrowed in confusion. "Did someone break something?"

Here she was now. The night to remember. Reagan had gotten so many ideas, thrown at her by friends, found on the internet, and shoved in her face by family. But this was the one.

Reagan had made Lloyd a nice dinner, it was their anniversary so he just thought it was a special celebratory meal. And it was. But for a different reason then he anticipated. Reagan smiled as she gently teased the layers of cake apart and slipped the ring inside. Lloyd was going to find it and then she would pop the question.

Reagan dressed in a dark teen dress with capped sleeves and a simple v-neckline. Curling her auburn hair and putting on the necklace Lloyd gave her for her birthday. A pretty yang to his ying.

The night went amazing. Lloyd came home from work, surprised to see her there earlier than him since usually she was at the office a lot longer. He gave her a kiss, placing his hands on her hips as he observed the nice scene she set up.

"I guess you beat me to it." Lloyd chuckled, taking in the candle lit room and romantic music.

Reagan simply smiled at him and served up the pasta dish she had whipped up. They talked about their day and held hands across the table. A sweet, perfect evening. Reagan's heart was racing faster than she ever thought it could go as she brought out the cake. She handed him the piece, double checking that his was the one with the strawberry. It marked that the ring was inside.

"Rea, this is all so amazing." Lloyd smiled at her. "You're so amazing."

"Thank you." Reagan ruffled his hair. "Now eat your cake! Tell me what you think!"

Lloyd ate it happily, licking his lips and chewing away. Reagan's brow knit when he began to get too far in without any ring. A sinking feeling began to form in her stomach and her suspicions were confirmed when he began choking.

Reagan said some not-so-holy words as she scrambled to her feet. "You ate it?" She shrieked.

Panic filling her as she leaned him over, helping him take deep breaths. Reagan had learned the Heimlich long ago when she had worked as a life guard in university. She tried to work through her fear as she positioned her arms around him. She placed her hands the correct spot and thrusted upwards. There was a strangled noise as Lloyd finally choked up the ring, the piece of jewelry clattering onto his plate.

They both stared at in disbelief, Lloyd taking huge gulps of oxygen as he slumped into his seat. Once he regained his breath, composure and no longer had the urge to barf, his green gaze focused in on the ring.

"Is...is that an engagement ring?" Lloyd breathed.

Reagan swiped at her eyes, the tears from the strain coming down her cheeks as she tried to regain her sanity. "Yes." She sniffed, cursing her mascara for running.

Reagan stared at Lloyd's startled eyes, a small smile forming on her lips. Yes, this was all a disaster. Yes, there was going to be a thousand disasters after this. But heck yes, was she going to push through and ask him anyways.

She knelt by his chair, picking up the ring in her fingers and wiping it with a napkin before she presented it to her boyfriend. Lloyd's jaw dropped open as Reagan cleared her throat.

"Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon," Reagan declared. "I swear I wasn't trying to kill you."

She took his hand and looked up into his eyes. "I love you so much. And I wanted to do the honours of asking the question. Will you, Mr. Green Ninja, hero of Ninjago, and dorkiest man on earth, as well as the only person in the history of the world to eat his engagement ring,  marry me?"

Lloyd tried to laugh but it came out funny as he cried and nodded. "Yes." He took her hands, standing and pulling her to her feet. "Of course!"

Reagan laughed as he lifted her in the air, spinning her around and planting a kiss on her forehead. "I love you so much!" Lloyd laughed.

Reagan pressed her forehead against his, soaking in the beauty of the moment before pulling away to place the ring on his finger.

"I'm sorry I choked on it." Lloyd whispered.

Reagan let out a shaky laugh, looking up with her dazzling eyes and patting him on the cheek. "It's okay. Just...don't ever do that again. I can't lose you."

Lloyd smiled tenderly at her. Eyes flicking to his ring then back at her. It was gold, a simple thing with metal twisted like branches and enclosing a small, tiny, green gem. Nothing too fancy but elegant for the occasion. He stared into her eyes and placed another kiss on her lips.

"I can't lose you either." He breathed, eyes warm as he smiled down at her.

"HOW DID YOU FREAKING EAT IT???? IF YOU FEEL SOMETHING HARD AND RING SHAPED IN YOUR MOUTH- SPIT. IT. OUT!"

Authors note*****

Short and sweet. I'm so happy to have finally pushed through my writers block. I was inspired by a little one-shot done by @MagicLyss . There was a line where the character said if they put the ring in a glass of wine he would've swallowed it and boom! Idea!

Reagan isn't one of my favourite characters because I didn't build on her personality and because Forgive Forget is my least favourite out of the books. Sorry if the timeline and all the stuff is confusing because my rewrites are messing things up. Lol.

Though Reagan isn't my favourite she's still one of my first OC's on WattPad and she's my green beans precious fiancé now. And now I'm crying for reasons. That's all I can tell you. Reasons.

Hopefully I'll be able to do two weddings and a few kid one-shots and eventually end up doing the next gen. I just hope I don't run out of steam.

As you may had seen Fractured has been taking  lot of my time so I'm very sorry to any readers of my other books. I have little will power I'm sorry. I just couldn't lecture myself into stopping. XD.

Thank you so much for reading! I'm so happy I was able to write this!
