Chapter - 54 Darling Bahu
I'm so glad to be back again after a long deserving break !
So much had happened, in life, to Sidlia, to the world, to shippers and to this book.
~ Good News ~
I'll continue this book, no matter what cause this has been my most special baby! I cannot let my hard work and all your love go in vain just for a bunch of fools trying to bring down Sidlia and us, positive shippers!
We are in this TOGETHER!
I have done a great deal of editing until the prev chapter! Baaki, I'll do once we complete this book. And don't worry, that won't be soon I feel ;)
I have finally made a perfect map of how I want things to be flowing until the very end. Therefore chapters might get lengthy as I won't drag a scene like I did in the initial chapters of this book.
I'm glad with the way this book has improved me as a writer. I haven't took away that gradual change while editing, it's pretty visible as you move from Chapter 1 to almost here.
Also, there would be loads of leaps in terms of months, years. I cannot drag everything forever.
~ DEDICATION ~
This is a light heart chapter dedicated to my true fans/readers who support #Sidlia & me with so much of positivity and strength. I'm nothing without y'all.
Get ready for more voltage shocks in the coming days.
Picture abhi shuru hi huwa hai ;-)
(READ THE NOTE)
!! DO NOT IGNORE THE NOTE IN THE END !!
I EXPECT POSITIVITY & UNDERSTANDING & NOT VIOLENCE & HATRED AFTER YOU GO THROUGH IT!
..................................................
Malhotra home smelled of streaks, crispy kebabs, mutton biriyani and few other mouth watering dishes being prepared for what they call a proper punjabi lunch scene. If Alia had any doubts earlier over his family being another typical punjabi household, there was no space for incertitude anymore.
The moment she woke up, her smell sense arose with joy. The grand kitchen welcomed her with flavors and tadka.
Ladies of the house were so indulged with preparations that they failed to discover their sweet guest, gazing at them with awe. Rimma was practically being a master chef, juggling with tasks with so much ease while the daughter in -law of the house was multitasking herself with much proficiency.
"Wow. If I could wake up to this every day of my life, I wouldn't be choosing any other." Alia spoke, still in daze with the energy they exuded.
"Toh it means shaadi pakki ?" quizzed a delighted Arpita, wife of the eldest born. A sister figure to both Sid and Alia. Them getting married will be the biggest highlight of her life, according to her popular belief. She was as much younger as her seven year old son Adhiraj, the real boss of their life.
"Arey bhai I am his mother. Mujhe kisi ne kyun nahi bataya ?" joined a even naughtier rimma.
Meanwhile Alia had a hard time trying to figure what exactly was happening. What she said took a different route. Sid joined a minute later into the kitchen to see for himself what took them this long.
"Bhai kiski shaadi hai ?"
Poor guy had no clue
Alia looked everywhere but him. Her embarrassment had reached an ultimate new level. She was so sure that taking a jib at them was the main focus of her gang's life. But coming here made her believe that even if they get hitched, there won't be an escape from the satire.
"Welcome superstar. Very early you are. How fortunate we are to see you grace our kitchen. A rare sight." joked his mother. Alia was so sure that their mother's will connect more with their wit and sarcasm. That would be a sight to behold!
"Kuch bhi, maa! By the way I am starving here. Is everything done ?" he asked with temptation.
"Yes sir. We are almost done. Abhi table laga denge" smiled bhabhi.
"And haan, iss madam ko bhi kuch sikha de. Shaadi ke baad who will prepare food for me ?" Sid winked at a horrified Alia.
She couldn't believe her ears. Him being this bold in front of his family was scarce.
"Oh hello ? I ain't preparing anything for you. You have your maid for that. I'll go to work" replied Alia with pride.
Meanwhile the ladies carried food bowls and cutlery to the dining table, still recovering from their blunt talks. Involuntarily, both of them moved towards the table area still having the nonsensical fight over who'd work and who would cook and stay back.
"Nah. What are wife's for ? Warna main maid se shaadi na kar loon ?! I would work and bring money. You stay back, cook and look after kids. Okay ?" he ruffled her hair like an adult and took his seat besides his brother. His family listened to the conversation with a suggestive grin.
Alia was pissed beyond measure at his callous attitude. Basically being indifferent to his baby-statement.
"Me what ? I won't be a house wife. You sit back and take care of the crying babies. I cannot handle all the stress" she smirked and flipped her hair while sitting next to him. Arpita laughing loud at her statement caused other's to giggle silently. A mortified Sid turned his full attention and chair towards Alia and spoke
"Excuse me ? Our kids will cause you stress ? Guess what ? Your cat's are going to be my death!" He probably wasn't realizing where their silly kiddish fight was leading onto.
She whacked him hard and he gasped. Rimma covered her mouth to stifle the laughter that could unleash anytime soon. Sunil choked on his water and coughed to which his elder son rubbed their father's back with a chortle. "Oh pleaseee! Oscar is no less. I'm scared he'll squeeze my poor cat out of his way too friendly nature and obvious weight!" she retorted with equal intensity.
Sensing that now since their pets were dragged into the mess, the silly fight could get nasty, Sunil cut Sid before he could retaliate. "Now you both, hush down! Bohot ho gaya drama. Why to drag a foolish conversation ? Sid, we are having food. Where's your manners ? And Alia is our guest. You don't engage in a war especially with our Alia." He had the final say.
Alia blew a flying kiss to his dad.
Sid focused more on the last part. Thus he mimicked 'Our Alia' under his breath while dangerously attacking the mutton kebab with fork. Others found it too adorable. Alia winked at his bhabhi. "Anyhow, I appreciate your thought, sid. You did planned for the future very well. Bade aage ki soch li!" said bhaiyya. That caused a riot of sniggering across the room.
Sid and Alia looked at each other as hastily as possible and realized their absurdity. They blush once it strucks them hard. Without exchanging a word, they concentrate on the delicious food. Rimma stands up and pours more curry on to Alia's plate, ignoring her protest, since she was having so less. "Arey nahi aunty. I've had enough. My stomach is full. This was so yum" she replied with satisfaction.
His mother smiles back and says "Lier. You had so less. I know it's in your profession to stay fit, slim and all but all you kids have turned so lean and sick like. Stay healthy and not malnourished." Alia shakes her head with a sheepish smile and Sid suddenly chuckles hard. "This applies to you too, Mr Malhotra" spoke his mum, making him cast his head down with an awkward smile. That turns Alia into a howling maniac.
"Waise, we weren't able to attend Dear Zindagi screening due to some office issues, beta" spoke Sunil. Alia looked up at him and gave a gratifying smile "It's okay uncle. I understand. Sid told me. But we did missed you."
"I have an idea. So what if all of you couldn't catch the screening ? The film is still running successfully in the theatres, so we can still catch upon. I'll check for today's evening shows and then we can all go together. What say ?" asked Sid with anticipation. Alia nodded at him with happiness. It would be her first time watching a film with only his family! That surely would make for a perfect family outing, she thought.
"Yay. That's a great plan" squealed little Adi coming from his room. He was already done with his lunch and was playing video games in his room. Sid scooped him up into his lap and ruffled his messy hair. Poor kid tried to tackle his devil uncle's torture. Everyone beamed at their bond.
Sid was so good with kids. She secretly wished to see him possibly play with their kids with such affection and tender love in the near future.
"But my drama king, you aren't that matured enough to watch this film" said Sid as a matter of fact. He wouldn't get the complexity of relationships and it would bore him out. " But why ? " he pouted with curiosity. "It's about girl boy issues, you won't get it baby" consoled his mother.
He quickly looked at Sid and then the rest of them "Even chachu can't get all of that! So you should stay back with me. Let the adults go." Flaunting a tongue throw at his uncle, the chubby kid ran upstairs. The adults laughed their heart at his cleverness. "Acha bacchu, abhi batata hoon." With that his so called adult uncle ran behind to give him a taste of his own medicine. Alia was uncontrollably guffawing at the little one's bold say.
A reason she loved this family to bits.
[Sid's POV]
Easily said than done.
I was so electrified at getting our tickets reserved for the evening show at PVR Chanakyapuri. We had the prime top seats to add in the thrill. We somehow pacified Adi to stay back and enjoy his time with his friends from school. The tactic worked though. But the real deal was something else.
Upon reaching the parking spot reserved for VIP, we recognized the flashlight attack !
Uh-oh!
Seriously, someone already offer them a National award.
I'll pay.
I mean, so quick they are with their research and tricks. They knew all along we would be in Delhi but travelling all the way here to just get our glimpse was hoot worthy.
I hope you get the sarcasm right.
I looked at my parents and family through the mirror as I was driving the car with Alia in the front next to me. They gave me a Your-job-is-sick peek. It felt like a sympathy which I gladly took. With a single glance at Alia, she understood my plan of escorting the family inside without getting much harm. She gave me an understanding nod and got out of the car.
Parking the vehicle, I quickly jogged up to my clan and stood protectively behind them while escorting them inside. Mom and Dad tried to cover the blinding light flashed upon them from all sides. Bhaiyya and bhabhi were not much bothered since they had their own moments of media glare after I became an actor.
Alia frequently looked back to see if I was alright. I smiled generously at her and lead them inside. After getting inside the hall and occupying our seats, my father sighed in glee.
"I respect you folks more after this" he said with a tired look.
"We are used to this uncle. It's just that when all of this is focused on our family and friends who are kept a bit away from this, we feel more bothered and protective" Alia spoke as a matter of fact. "We've got great kids, rimma. I can see a sense of responsibility and a streak of maturity in them" spoke dad with pride. Mom nodded with a spark. Bhaiyya patted my back, a mindless brother code.
Bhabhi whispered near to us "Congratulation, Sidlia! Shaadi toh pakki !"
She and bhai laughed with merry. The crazy ad's finally got over and the film was about to get started.
Alia looked at me with so much intense that I could see her turning crimson red even in the dimness of the hall. I interlaced our hands in a warm grip, lifting it up to kiss tenderly at her knuckles. With a smile so dazzling on the love of my life, we watched her film with a fulfilled heart.
NOTE : This is chapter I did intentionally for a neutral tone. To show the love they had for Alia and vice-versa. After this chap, everything's gonna turn upside down ;-)
Yes, the intensity and thrill will increase. You may find yourself blabbering *wtf* too often! I'll be taking a great pace in terms of the flow of the story after this. It is necessary to merge with my dream for this book, and to get the real ending I want.
Don't panic already, It's not getting over soon. I cannot guarantee a proper update time. It depends since I'm entering the most hectic SECOND YEAR OF MY COLLEGE LIFE!
I'll like to say this once and FOR ALL !
I don't need to make myself clear to the entire population! Everyone has their own opinions. I have a broad mind and thus I stand with this side.
SIDLIA WILL FOREVER BE MY MAIN SHIP !
That does not requires me to hate or ignore my other fav's! I have always loved Alia with Ranbir, Ranveer etc. #Ranlia being my most fav among the two. HER & SID's happiness matter the most to me. I'd respect their decision on everything from films to personal issues. So if they are happy and content with whoever they are, I'm glad!
Stop behaving like their parents y'all! It's their life and not yours. They know how to sail.
If Sid tomorrow wants to move on with someone, I'll accept that with happiness. Although there would be forever be a tinge of sadness at our dreams being shattered but destiny is something, I'd say. And for peeps who think RANLIA is cheap promotional strategy, get the heck out of my timeline! Alia of all the peeps, DOESN'T REQUIRES THAT TO SAVE HER CAREER! She isn't that naive and stupid. She has matured with age. Kjo isn't the master lord determining everything in her life like y'all believe.
Sure, she takes advice from all, but the end decision is always HERS! I myself had my doubts earlier but know I have observed everything closely, the family closeness, rk's genuine change and glow, him admitting (which was like IMPOSSIBLE considering how shy he is from professing private life) and everything surrounding them. He has definitely changed over the years. If he hurts her, I'll be the first one to hunt him
*takes out my spear*
Anyone who'd like to accompany me, do let me know!
Brahmastra for God's sake is a trilogy, spanning a freaking 5 years or something to release it's series! Chemistry isn't sold like that buddy. It's gained over comfort level and exemplary direction skills. I'll say let's currently focus on Sid-Alia's career reaching new heights and not on who they are going out with. Let's be practical and not act like the typical Indian bitching aunties that you find easily in every community wedding!
If you hate ALIA/SID, stop lurking around my account. That's not gonna work well. I need positive vibe around me in order to make this book of mine, the dream I've always wanted! We have all the right in the world to fantasize them together through my books and other FC's on instagram that still work for them. My sidlia fc on Instagram (defend.sidlia) will hence remain inactive.
I promise, my story will give you the deserving #SIDLIA ending we TRUE SHIPPERS , deserve!
Since I've admitted loving Ranlia, I had made an FC for them on Instagram back in 2017 october. It's still working well. Gotta say, through that fc, I got to know such practical minded peeps, who don't bitch and snark, rather are supportive and broad minded! You can follow me if you have the same insight or for the love of our girl : ranbiraliafc (address)
I hope that things are clear for all. Now onwards, I would be strictly updating only my chapters and not indulging in clarification. If our thoughts clash, let it be! Just concentrate on this book and this journey. Let everything else be non existent for a while. I'm so glad to have this book as a fantasy world created, an escapade for all of us. Let this book be our way of seeing Sidlia together! Don't be gloomy, we'll make our dreams come true here!
PLEASE DON'T REMOVE ME FROM YOUR LIBRARIES & HEART.
