Not All Who Slither, Lie
Adam Lambert - Runnin'
A life that's always been a dream,
Wake up now and live oh!
I've been standing here my whole life,
My heart's beating faster, I know what I'm after.
—
The black feathered bird that was the falcon flew onto the telephone line, cawing as it did. A group of birds perched on it were scared off before the falcon looked in Zane's direction.
''Wake up, Zane. I know where you come from.'' It spoke.
Zane opened his eyes, startled awake he hit his head on the top bunk of the bed, gasping. Sliding out of bed, he rubbed the affected spot, looking out the window as the falcon flew past outside.
Coming up to the bridge, he saw Wu and Nya, while nearby, you sat on a chair, reading a book. ''The hunt starts early today.'' The Ice Ninja looked at Wu with a smile.
Wu lowered the map he was looking at. ''A watchful eye never sleeps.'' Zane could've sworn that your gaze for a moment landed on him.
''As long as Lloyd and the Serpentine roam freely, no one in Ninjago is safe,'' Nya informed, serious about the topic at hand.
''Where are the others?'' Zane questioned, while you were still silent.
''Training on the upper deck,'' Wu answered.
As the Ice Ninja went to walk out, you placed the book into your lap, looking at him with your (e/c) eyes. He froze in his tracks, ironically enough, meeting your gaze. He could've sworn your pupils were narrowed, slit like a cat's, while the necklace you were wearing with its (b/s) caught the light, glimmering for a moment. As soon as he tore his gaze away, the image faded from his mind. But not from his memory.
Heading out onto the deck, the falcon perched near, looking down at him.
No one else was present.
''You were in my dream, little friend. Last time I saw you, you led me to good fortune. What reason have you returned?'' Zane inquired to the bird, who then took off and the Ice Ninja followed watching it, unaware of a shadow that was sneaking up behind him when he stopped.
When the shadow fell upon the Ice Ninja, he turned around. ''Lord Garmadon.'' He faced him, horrified. ''But you were banished!''
''Only to return for the Weapons of Spinjitzu,'' Garmadon announced, drawing out a pair of katanas. ''Soon I will have the power to recreate Ninjago in my own image.'' Charging forth at Zane, who pulled out his Shurikens of Ice, leaping over Garmadon before he struck, landing in a defensive position.
''Give me your Shurikens of Ice,'' Garmadon demanded.
''You'll have to take them from me. Ninja, go!'' The Ice Ninja exclaimed, whirling into Spinjitzu. However, Garmadon grabbed his collar easily, holding him up before throwing him into a pile of junk, resulting in the Ice Ninja losing his Shurikens in the process.
''So be it,'' Garmadon growled, using a katana to slice a nearby rope. A heavy box was sent coming down onto the Ice Ninja, who was unable to do anything to stop it. When all hope seemed lost, a figure clothed in green appeared, getting a hold of the heavy box to throw it aside.
A figure in orange became visible, standing near the Green Ninja. Zane was confused as he looked at them, for he had never remembered seeing an Orange Ninja. He was at a loss for words.
Garmadon charged forth, the Green Ninja doing the same, whilst the Orange Ninja went to strike at the Lord of Darkness' back. Garmadon rushed at the Green Ninja, who then leapt on top of his katanas, the Lord of Darkness swinging around, attempting to get rid of them while the Orange Ninja leapt back to avoid Garmadon's strikes.
Swiftly swinging around the mast, the Green Ninja landed on the deck. The Lord of Darkness once more attempted to hit the Green Ninja by throwing his katanas at the one clothed in green, however, he was intercepted as the Orange Ninja caught them and threw them off the Bounty.
Both of the Prophecied Ninja whirled into Spinjitzu, the one clothed in orange an orange tornado, while the one clothed in green was a bright green one sparkling with energy. Zane watched on with amazement.
Garmadon flipped towards them, the Green Ninja then punching him in the face, while the Orange Ninja again went to strike at him, only to be kicked away by the Lord of Darkness.
The Orange Ninja got up as the Green Ninja held up the Nunchucks of Lightning above their head and Garmadon went to attack the Green Ninja but was abruptly blasted off the Bounty by a bolt of lightning from the Orange Ninja.
Zane's eyes were immediately on the pair. The Green Ninja had their eyes alight, with their fist encased in flame, the falcon perched on their outstretched arm. While the Orange Ninja had lightning arcing over and around them, a hand of theirs invisible to the eye.
''Who are you?'' Zane stood as he questioned. ''Kai, Jay, is that you?''
Zane's vision was then filled with copies of the falcon, who flew around him and settled on the deck, increasing his confused state. ''What's the meaning of this? Who are you, Green Ninja? And you, mysterious Orange Ninja?"
The Ice Ninja awoke, hitting his head on the top bunk of the bed, exactly like in his dream. Nearby, Jay messed with a cloth covering something, turning to face Zane. ''Oh, sleeping in? You're gonna be late for training.'' Jay told the Ice Ninja.
Zane sat on the edge of the bed. ''Oh, how come no one awakened me?'' He questioned.
''We didn't think you wanted us to. You looked like you were having some dream.'' Kai replied.
''How do I know this isn't a dream—'' Zane began but was hit in the face with a pillow thanks to Cole.
''Does that feel like a dream?'' Cole questioned the Ice Ninja.
''No. Thank you for your help.'' Zane dryly answered, making the others laugh at him. Going onto the deck, the others gathered around the Ice Ninja.
''Hehe. Little slow today, huh? What exactly did you dream about?'' Porcupine asked.
''I saw the Falcon again,'' Zane announced.
''Whoa. Zane, every time you see that bird, something big happens. First, it lead you to the secret tree house.'' Jay told the Ice Ninja as the Old Tea-Obsessed Man walked out.
''Then it lead you to the Bounty,'' Cole added.
''All right. Stretches. First, the Swooping Crane.'' Wu told the ninja, then facing away to demonstrate the stretch. The ninja immediately copied.
''This time, it showed me the Green Ninja. And a mysterious Orange Ninja.'' Zane informed the others in a whisper.
''The Green Ninja?'' Kai and Jay exclaimed, looking over to Zane.
''The Orange Ninja?'' Cole questioned, causing Jay to eye him weirdly for a moment.
Wu looked back to see the boys in different poses, with Zane being the only one to do the actual pose. ''That looks like the Shocked Monkey. Bad form, more focus.'' Once again the old man faced away.
''You can't just drop a bomb like that. Spill the beans.'' Jay whispered.
''Yeah, what else did you see?'' Kai asked, also whispering.
''He was fighting Lord Garmadon,'' Zane answered quietly.
''That's what the prophecy said. That the Green Ninja would defeat the Dark Lord. But did you have a chance to see which one of us was him? Or who this Orange Ninja is?" The Fire Ninja questioned.
''Yeah.'' Jay said.
Simultaneously Cole asked, whispering: ''Did you see?''
''I could not tell. He shared attributes each of us possess. Similar could be said for the Orange Ninja,'' Zane answered.
''Now, Pinching Crab,'' Wu instructed, and he with the others changed poses.
''Well, tell us everything. And don't spare any details. There has to be a clue that tells us which one of us is gonna be the Green Nin—'' Kai started, but Wu walked over, pulling on his hair. ''Ow, ow, ow! Hey!'' He yelped.
''What was so important to ignore my teachings?'' Wu questioned the group.
''Uh, nothing,'' Kai answered quickly.
''It was nothing, Sensei,'' Jay replied.
''Yeah, we don't talk while you teach,'' Cole told him.
''Everyone was paying attention,'' Zane informed.
''Since you all appear to be lacking in focus, then you can all share in the punishment,'' Wu announced much to their dismay.
''What?'' Kai questioned, alarmed.
''Punishment?'' Jay asked.
''It was all Zane,'' Cole replied.
''I was merely answering their questions,'' Zane explained.
''No free time and no video games. The rest of the day can be used for training. And tomorrow, for that matter.'' Wu told the group, turning to leave.
''Training? For how long?'' The Fire Ninja protested.
''Until you can answer this simple riddle: what is the best way to defeat an enemy?'' The Old Tea-Obsessed Man quizzed, pausing to look at the boys.
''Easy, with a sword,'' Hair-Gel answered, flipping around.
''Your fists.'' Jay punched the air in front of him.
''Spinjitzu,'' Cole spun on the spot.
''Tornado of Creation?'' Zane inquired.
The old man sighed in disappointment. ''Pace yourselves. You have a lot of training ahead of you. Make sure you sharpen your mind as well as your Spinjitzu.'' He then walked away as the boys watched.
''Ugh. What's the best way to defeat an enemy? It could be anything, ugh!'' Cole complained, preparing himself for training.
''Come on, guys, we're smart. We can figure this out.'' Jay replied as parts of the training course rose from their spots in the deck.
Kai hit a punching bag, seeing Wu close the door to the bridge. ''Yeah, but let's hear more about this dream.'' He approached the Ice Ninja with the others.
''Let me just say, the Green Ninja is awesome.'' Zane started with a smile.
''Hey, if we're gonna be talking about prophecies, maybe talk about both of them?" Cole interrupted.
The others fixed him with questioning stares. The Earth Ninja withered under their collective steely gazes.
—
You and Nya came past the boys, who were still training. Somewhat tired from all the training, Jay and the others looked over at you two. ''Hey, do you know the answer to the riddle?" The Lightning Ninja questioned.
To the boy's frustration, you and Nya nodded with smirks on your faces, taking a moment to fist-bump each other. The ninja groaned in unison.
''Can't you just tell us?" Kai asked, grumbling.
You shook your head. ''Nah. Sensei's teaching you something here, it'd be a waste for you to cheat.''
''Besides, you're all smart enough-'' Nya covered the bottom half of her face with a hand as she mouthed a joking 'no' to you. ''...you can figure it out yourselves.''
Going away, you had to stifle your giggles as the boy's gazes were pinned on your retreating forms, hearing a frustrated groan from Kai. Once you were back in your room with Nya (after she had helped you onto your bed), some weight settled on your shoulders.
Nya's eyes widened, as she backed away slightly. Then, you spotted a small silver snake on your shoulders, adorned with a small light blue gem on his forehead, dark patterns and purple eyes.
You let out a sigh. ''Where have you been? You've finally appeared...'' You told the small snake. Nya still stared at him in surprise.
''It took me a while,'' The little snake admitted. ''But I came for the food.'' He sent you a sheepish smile.
''And uh, who is this?" Nya questioned, finally coming to her senses as she looked at him.
''Name's Remo, and it's nice to meet you.'' The snake greeted with a bow of his head, looking at Nya.
''The best way to defeat your enemy is to make them your friend.'' You found yourself quoting Wu, glancing at Remo who looked puzzled at your words. ''But he ate the giant ham sandwich I had in the fridge once.''
''What can I say? I'm a sucker for giant ham sandwiches." Remo replied with a smug grin, his tail waving around a bit.
''If the boys ever found out about Remo, they sure wouldn't be happy.'' Nya mused.
You nodded. ''Especially Cole.''
''Wanna go see if they've figured out the answer?" Nya questioned.
''I'd rather stay in here.'' You answered while Remo looked at you gratefully. You put your arm out, and he slithered onto it, curling around it, not too tightly as there was no intention of cutting off blood circulation.
The three of you chatted for some time until Nya excused herself to go to the bridge. It was pretty quiet after that. Mostly.
Somewhere, on the Bounty, you had picked up sounds of the boys talking amongst themselves. Then, the engines picked up in intensity and you had to comfort Remo amidst the roaring of the Destiny's Bounty's engines. When it settled, you waited a minute to see if the coast was clear. Remo then went back onto your shoulders.
A loud CRASH jumped you out of your skin, Remo squeaking out of fright, pressing himself as much as he could onto your shoulders whilst closing his eyes, anticipating another scare. A creak and an apology came from the other side of the door. You then heard someone knock.
''Come in.'' You replied. Nya stepped into the room.
''A few things are happening up deck,'' Nya informed, immediately piquing your interest. You grinned in response.
''Count me in.''
—-
When Nya had put you down on a chair, you looked out from where the Destiny's Bounty had stopped, spotting Lloyd on the roof of a school, a massive gap where the anchor had crashed through. You watched as the ninja, Wu and Nya confronted the boy.
''Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon, you come here right now!'' Wu called out to the boy, who Jay picked up and slung over his shoulder. Lloyd struggled as he protested in the Lightning Ninja's grip, making you feel sorry for him.
''What should we do with him? Wash his mouth out with soap for a year?'' The Earth Ninja questioned the others.
''Ground him indefinitely?'' Kai asked.
''Have him sit in a corner for a century?'' Zane suggested
''I know exactly what we must do,'' Wu replied with a tone that made Lloyd gulp.
—
Jay attempted to block out the sounds of the others while they watched Wu read a bedtime story to Lloyd, something about not trusting snakes. While a bit frustrated with the Sensei, he decided to use that as motivation to keep working.
A sigh and he finally fitted the last screw into its proper place, discarding the cloth that had long enough hidden it from curious eyes. Folding his creation up, he stumbled along, passing the other three who briefly regarded him with varying levels of puzzlement.
While you were trying to relax on the deck, a creak of the floorboards behind you made you whip around as fast as your limbs could allow, nearly evicting Jay's soul from his body. And almost making him drop the object in his grasp.
Shakily, he set it down, unfolding it to reveal, a wheelchair.
''I know it's been hard for you to get around, so I thought you'd like to have this-'' Jay blurted out, pushing it forward to you a smidge. It felt like the words had left your mind, staring at the chair with wheels. Swallowing the lump in your throat, you found the words to speak.
''Thank you, thank you, thank you-'' You giddily spoke, eagerly climbing onto the wheelchair (albeit a bit clumsily), settling down and trying to figure out how it worked.
You hadn't noticed how bright Jay's smile was, too engrossed in the workings of the wheelchair.
Jay breaks the rest of your limbs, requiring you to go back in time and stop that event.

Having the power be cut off is f u n /s
Yeah, it caused the delay. Anyway, I'll provide the ending part that was in the OG Dreams next chapter. Maybe.
Without further ado,
See ya, Bookworms.
