Bite The Hand That Feeds You
I smiled to myself, I prayed Blaze wouldn't see.
I'm not sure why, I felt nervous about it.
"The kind man wasn't bad after all." I spoke softly, more to myself than to Blaze.
Blaze hummed and nodded slightly, her tongue stuck out while she thought, the action reminded me of a confused puppy. After that thought I started chuckling, I tried to hide my giggles behind a pale hand.
How long had it been since I laughed freely?
The thought was enough to kill my giggles, I stared off into space, Blaze had saved me, Elizabeth had saved me. I was pretty useless.
Did Blaze even realize how much she helped? Does Elizabeth even know that I am still alive?
And that I found... A f-friend.
I held my small hand to my heart, Blaze's hair had been brushed. She looked like she belonged to a respectable family, much more than I did anyway.
My hair was lightly ruffled, not really tangled, my eyes were probably still groggy, despite the early-morning scare.
I gulped and suddenly felt self-conscious of how skinny and weak I looked. Really, if not for my 'family' I'm sure someone would've killed me already. The thought made me gulp and play with the end of my dress, I looked at my bare feet, I had wrapped bandages around the soles and pads, also the toes. All of the valuable points of my feet were covered. All I needed.
I pointed towards an alley, it was small and narrow. If we got into the right position...
"Let's go!" Blaze cheered. I looked in shock, she trusted in me so easily...
I smiled.
We would fight.
(I would fight with my weak body, my fragile hands and most importantly, my useless heart.)
