Daphne tousled strands of burnt coal hair, feeling flecks of dollar store shampoo flake onto her fingertips. She grimaced as she tossed the flakes into the ocean below. On her other hand held a glossy framed passport, stamped with an official mark for her travels to this forsaken land. She still couldn't believe she had gotten this far without mom or dad knowing.
