Front office-
9:08am

"I can't believe this is happening!" Aaliyah growled as she kicked the wall in pure anger. Sophie and Riley sat on the bench whereas I crouched down on the floor, my back against the wall.

"There's nothing we can do about it Ayla, Davis said so and he always keeps his word," Riley said crossing her arms. "It's that lame ass Morgan's fault! I swear he's-" "that's enough Aaliyah.." I sigh, pushing my glasses up along with myself.

"The only thing we have to do is accept and deal with. It's not like we weren't even going to the dance anyway. Therefore, no reason to blame anyone." I reason earning an eye roll from my stubborn sister.

"Coming from little miss professional dancer!" Riley protested, "Doesn't just a part of you want to sign up for that competition and beat everyone's asses to show them you're not just some nerd?" I scoffed at Riley's words.

"Of course not. It's just a hobby."

"Whatever. Let's just go to class, alright?" Aaliyah said which I replied with a simple nod, pushing the glasses up from the bridge of my nose once again. That was when our group distributed to our own classes.

After collecting all my emotions from what had just happened and walked to my next class with my head up high.

I had no reason to go to that dance anyway-

I cut off my own thoughts as I glanced at the all too familiar poster hung up on the wall. The all too famous dance competition during the homecoming dance.

The biggest cliche in all of high school history.

I bit down on the tip of my thumb as I thought long and hard.

If only we didn't get in trouble... I really could've been able to show everyone I'm a lot more than just a nerd that does peoples homework-

I shook my head. Elena! Stop thinking about dancing! It does not look good on your college application!!

I huffed, pushing my glasses up again and continue walking. Only to stop in my tracks again, my eyes stopping on a male just a few feet away from me.

I avert my gaze quickly, my face heating up as I Mustered up all my courage to just go up and ask him.

Mason Walker, One of the most popular guys in the school, junior. I can't tell you much other than the fact that he's a jock. Since that, I've switched to a lane as far as possible from him. As a person who isn't "Cool" enough to talk to him, ever since that cursed day...

Well, I've never wanted too anyway.

I take out the sheet of paper holding it in front of me for a moment, contemplating my decision.

That is until I was interrupted.

"Well if it isn't little old Carrie!"

Oh, how I hated being called that.

I look up with shocked eyes, almost tripping over my own feet. As always, they were quite loud, they even got the attention of Mason who was talking to none other than Noah Reynolds, Another quite popular guy who tends to pester Aaliyah On a day to Day basis ever since he moved next door from our house. She despises him with a passion.

"W-What...?" I stammered looking at the group of girls and guys cornering me, then averting my gaze awkwardly.

"Did you finish my chemistry!?"

"I need my American government essay today! Where is it!?"

"Homework, cough it up."

As my brain was trying to contradict what was going on I scrambled my Backpack in my grasp, trembling and taking out the folder filled with different people's homework.

What?

I have to survive somehow!

As I tried gathering the homework I needed to return I dropped my folder due to my excessive amount of going through the papers.

Just great.

"Why do you have Mason Walker's mid-Term scores!?" My eyes widen as I quickly look over seeing Mason looking over with a confused expression.

"I-I... I-It was a m-misunderstanding-"

In all honesty, the situation was clearly overreacted. It's not like I had one if his dirtiest little secrets. They weren't even that bad! Highest scores I've ever seen from a jock!

But, they always wanted to make a big deal out of it all. The cheerleader; Whom her name was unbeknownst to me, had picked up the paper only grow more furious. "You stalking bitch!"

Her hand hit my cheek making me wince and hold my cheek.

What a Bitch!

I stuffled a growl, kneeling down and picking up the papers. As I stood up I met eyes with Mason who obviously had no clue who I was, and he didn't want to anyway. I felt my eyes narrow.

Don't worry I didn't want to know or even talk you either.

"J-just take your homework... So I can leave." I said flushing in embarrassment and shoving the folders to the guy near me and walking away before anything else happens that makes me even more imperfect.

English class-
9:20 am

After reaching my next class I slumped in my seat letting out a quiet sigh.
Murmurs erupted from the room, and just hearing everyone mutter 'Carrie' was making my blood boil by the minute.

They literally say that I'm not popular and that I'm just a loser, but I'm the only name that ever comes out there mouths!

A part of me wants to point them out and shout at the top of my lungs at how idiotic and straight up illogical they are, but I can't. I can't risk getting even more in trouble. It'll ruin my chances of getting into Harvard.

Did I mention that I'm trying really hard to get into that school? Yeah. That's happening.

My thoughts about calling out my classmates easily discarded when I felt my phone beep in my pocket.

Aaliyah- Meeting at the hideout during lunch. Don't be late or I will you'll regret it!!

I rolled my eyes at my sisters' lame attempt of scaring us and put my phone away into my bag.

once the late bell rang, the class was officially in session.

Okay Elena, time for doing the only thing you're good at.

Class started and, as always. We took notes at the beginning. I seemed to have been the only one taking out my notebook when a loud group of students barged into the room, laughter Coming from their mouths.

Preferably, the popular ones.

I continued to write my notes, this wasn't a surprise by this late in the year.

"You guys are late... Again. And where is your late pass?" Mr. Green said in a monotone, already used to this behavior. As I wrote, slightly focused on my notes I silently pleaded to God that these kids would be taken out of my life for the great or good.

No one spoke up and Mr. Green began writing detention slips, "well if none of you have a pass then I suppose you all get detention, which brings you to you to four slips and prohibits you to go to homec-"

"Right here, sir." My eyes widened in shock as I heard the male voice behind my seat and dreams where once broken, again.

The one and only Mason Walker strode over to Mr. Green with a yellow pass in his hand. I blinked.

When the hell was he even in this class?!

"We went to go visit the principal, sorry for causing a distraction walking into your classroom, sir." He spoke politely. Politely.

Did I just block this kid out for three years and totally not see how different he is from middle school?!

Mr. Green eyed the pass in his hands, seeing if this was a fake pass. It had to be. They weren't even in the principal's office because WE were.

"Alright. You all are excused, take your seats." I blinked in utter horror as I watched them get into there seats in slight relief, Something was up. I took a quick glance towards Mason walking back to his desk. He did the unthinkable.

He winked at me. Why the hell did he wink at me?!

I quickly looked away from him and back at my notes, which I should have been writing this whole time but was simply too shocked to do so.

I had NO idea what was going on. And I didn't wanna find out.

Lunchtime-
11:00am

"I'm just saying I feel like they should make the food here better. If we're being good enough students to go to school might as well give us something we like-" Sophie ranted on about, holding onto both of our trays as I carried our books for our next classes.

"They just think we're eating healthy stuff when in reality it's non-edible stuff." I mumbled, stiffening when we walked passed the so-called ' sacred popular table'.

"I mean yeah but that's stupid! I'm definitely sueing!-" She cut herself off when I yelped tripping over someone's foot and dropping all of our books.

"Lana!" Sophie shouted quickly setting our trays on the side of a table and helping me back on my feet. You could just hear the snickers from the tables around us. Sitting up holding my hand to my head, I avoided the stares of anyone else including Sophie and began picking the books back up with a sigh. "You okay?" she asked me as I stood back up dusting off my jeans.

"Just fine.." tucking some strand of hair behind my ear, I looked at her smiling softly and gesturing her to continue walking. She did just that, picking up our trays again and walking, making sure to glare at the girl who tripped me on the way. I followed right behind her still avoiding any eyes, including Walker's green ones from the same table the commotion came from. "What is going on today.." I mumbled sitting down at the table with the textbooks. "What do you mean?" Sophie muffled with food in her mouth.

"This guy has basically been watching me all day... It's weird." I rested my chin on my hand watching Sophie devour most of mine and her food.

"You mean Walker? Yeah, I've noticed that too. It is pretty creepy."

I nodded my head and started searching through my backpack, "anyway, did you get the pass? since we're gonna be late for next period."

"Yup. I asked Mrs. Stevens at the front desk for one and she gladly gave me two." I smiled, feeling confident that I had someone I could talk to about my troubles.

And give me free passes out of any class.

Handing Sophie her pass I continued to rummage through my things only to sigh in annoyance, "I could've sworn I had two passes!" I mumbled, still searching frantically in my backpack. "Maybe you dropped it somewhere?" Sophie questioned making me pause in my movements.

"I would've noticed if I dropped it! Someone must have stole-" my eyes widened as my mind altered back to Mr. Greens class.

The late kids. Mason. He was literally behind me when he spoke up about the pass.

He stole it. That's why he winked at me!

"That son of a-!" I automatically stood up from my seat fuming in anger when Sophie spoke up, "woah woah woah! Calm down, Elena! Will just get you another one!"

"That imbecile stole my pass! I swear once I gather the courage he's going to wish he never messed with me!"

~+~

Ughhh. I still cringe at my writing.

Still getting back into the swing of things so my writing might be a little shitty. I apologize in advance to whoever is reading this.

Yes I know India doesn't wear glasses. But it takes a long time to find face claims that no one has used so deal with it. Also I plan to edit the first chapter to add a face claim for Aaliyah when I get the chance. I totally forgot to do that before.

But. If there are people reading this I'm glad you gave it a chance. I have a lot of things up my sleeve for this story and I hope you stick around~ ❤️

I might update my one-shot book next. I've got a few stories that need editing on there so stay tuned.
