Shot Three

Floating on clouds.

It was the same thing what Sathya was experiencing now when Arjun took their names as one. It touched a chord in her heart and her heart was palpating. She tried hard to control the red color to grow more. She can bet that she looked like a ripe tomato.

Finally, her dreams which she had as an adolescent were in front of her eyes. As every normal girl, she forgot about fantasies. They were not a part of reality and when you had to struggle at every step you take. You ought to change. And the first change happens, where you stop dreaming on the basis of fantasies.

But, may be, just may be, her dreams were not dreams. They were wishes, which god has finally granted. And Arjun looked like an angel sent by God to make her wish true to her.

It was the first time after her teenage years, she was acting like a person on high. Her heart pounded hard against the ribcage, threatening to come out. Breathing ragged, flushed to the core. She didn't understand how she had lost all her control, just by a 5-minute meeting.

And then, she blamed her friends for her reaction. This was entirely their fault. She concluded.

If they had not ingrained all those lovey- dovey ideas in her mind, and their day to day wishes and talks regarding, finding her prince charming in abroad.

They had gone one step more saying she would get an NRI son- in-law for her father as a gift. Now that she remembered all those conversations, she confirmed that it was only their fault without thinking any further or any remorse.

She even thought, about their reactions when she would give this breaking news to them. She was sure, they would play this news as a bulletin and daily discussion on what if's will run at a faster pace than she thought.

Shaking her head, she turned to see Arjun had his eyes closed and leaned his back against the seat. He looked peaceful. She could see a sweet smile playing on his lips. She placed her chin on her palm supporting the hand rest and stared at the figure sleeping beside her.

If she didn't think anytime for the ground to shake and bury her, now she was praying for that to happen.

Arjun opened his eyes and stared at Sathya who was busy admiring his features. She wanted to disappear at this instant, but it was not possible.

"I guess you are bored," He asked quietly.

Arjun, Arjun, Arjun,.... she chanted his name, as she found him as a real knight, perfect gentleman. She couldn't believe her luck.

If anyone would have been in his place, they would have mocked her to their heart's content. But not her Arjun. Her sweet Arjun.

She nodded her head, still in a daze. He had her hypnotized. That she knew for sure.

As she opened her mouth to speak, they were disturbed by the air hostess who was passing the breakfast packets to the passengers.

Sathya closed her mouth and watched Arjun taking the packet and gave a dazzling smile to the girl, who blushed like a crazy girl at that.

What was the need to show all your teeth? Is it a toothpaste ad?? Sathya thought sourly.

He turned to her after the girl moved forward and raised his eyebrow questioningly. "Aren't you hungry?"

Sathya shrugged her shoulders. Hungry.. if only he knew about her. She was a foodie. Loved food with all her heart.

But not the plane food. She had heard someone or other saying that food in the plane was worst at its best. And not to take any risk she avoided it.

"No. I bought some chocolates. It's enough for me." Don't know why she wanted to give an explanation to him. She could have kept quiet not answering.

But her heart knew it was because of Arjun. Else she would glare at that person who would dare ask her any question.

Damn, heart.

"I know, everyone believes about the myths about food in the plane. But I assure you this is good. Have a taste of it. You would like it." How can she say no, when he was offering his food along with a buttery, marsh mellowy, and sweet dazzling smile.

He placed a small part of the dish on her plate and asked her to taste it. She didn't saw what the dish was until now but she smiled like a fool when she saw it was noodles. Her favorite.

She heard Arjun chuckled at her expression but it was no time to bother. She would leave him this time as he shared his Noodles with her.

As they savored their food, a light talk started.

"What is the reason for the visit?" Arjun asked as he finished his first bite.

"Conference. " Sathya said discreetly to which he nodded his head. "And you?"

"Company work," Arjun stated shrugging his shoulders.

"First time to Malaysia" Arjun questioned to which she nodded her head and raised her eye at him retreating the same question.

"I live there." He answered nonchalantly.

She stared at him with wide eyes, surprise evident in them and her tone high pitched "Really"

"Yep."

"Family lives there." She said in a statement. He chuckled, shaking his head as no. "You can say that. But I live with my friend in the apartment. "

"Oh.. Why? " She asked.

"Huh?" He asked confused.

"I mean if the family is settled, then why staying with a friend." She closed her mouth, feeling as an idiot. What was the necessity to ask him about that? It was his personal.

Ahh, Sathya, you act like a dumb sometimes.

" No problems in the family. I assure you. I wanted to be with Jiya, So decided to stay in an apartment with her." He said coolly as if it was no big deal.

Her mind stopped working after hearing, a girl's name. And that too he lives with her. As if that was not enough to stab her heart, he had that charming smile and longing look when he spoke about that girl.

She had an instant hate of that unknown girl. She had not started feeling anything and her heart was already broken.

Heartbreak in a matter of half an hour.

This, she would remember forever. And if time permits she thought to write a story based on this.

Traits of being a writer. She thought dryly.

And add to her misery he was still speaking about that girl as if he was in love with her. may be yes.
