The Park

It was Sunday.

It was Sunday!

It was Sunday...

"Izuku. It's Sunday! Eat Breakfast then we will go to the park. "

I had barely slept. Kachan was there. What if he wasn't there? I hadn't thought about that.

I hadn't thought this through.

"Kid?"

"Yeah?"

"Are you nervous?"

"I don't get nervous."

"Yeah, yeah." He mumbled something under his breath.

I didn't care what he said I was too nervous pacing back and forth.

"Izuku. You need to listen to me. We are walking there which means you have to stay by me."

I wasn't listening.

"Izuku."

"Huh?"

"You aren't listening are you?"

"What's that? Yeah, sure."

"I said you can eat my cats." This caught my attention and I smiled evilly, "Now you pay attention. No, you can not eat my cats."

"So you lied."

Shota faltered.

"No, I was being funny. Lying is bad."

"No, you just lied. So, in turn, I can eat the cats."

I grinned.

"Har, har. Now eat."

"Your cat?"

"No." He placed a bowl of food in front of me.

~~~
I was standing by the door. I was going out into a city.
I shifted, trying to guess the exact size and color I was when Kachan saw me.
"Are you sure you want to go like that?"
I nodded.
Shota glared at the idiots who tried to touch me.
I could smell a lot of people ahead and knew it was the park. The sun was shining and there were people everywhere.
I hated it.
I took a step closer to Shota.
"Izuku, they are not enemies. Calm down. If anything happens I am here."
I was nervous. Really nervous. Kids were running everywhere. Adults talking to each other. I didn't see them. The Bakugo family wasn't here.
My head hung. I really wanted to see them.
"Can I pet your dog?"
I looked up to see a young boy about my age. He had blue hair and was standing behind the leg of a person who smelled exactly like him.
"Eraserhead, I didn't think you'd be one to like public parks."
"Sorry but please don't touch him." Shota changed his gaze, "I don't Ingenium, but we needed to get out of the house."
"Us too. It's the best when I have the time to hang out with my little bro. Ida, this another Hero, you don't have to hide." He hid more behind his leg, "Sorry he has a hard time with people."
"So does Izuku."
I hide behind his leg. We both poked our heads out at the same time making eye contact. I rammed my head into Shota's leg, not wanting to keep the gaze.
"He is also very shy." I growled, "Okay he's just shy, not very." I kept my head on his leg.
"How is life going? How are your students?"
They started talking and ended up on a bench. I laid under the bench by Shota's feet. Ida clung to his brother. He looked at me through the slits on the bench.
"Hi, Izuku." He whispered. "My name is Tenya Ida. Do you want to be friends?"
The adults were still taking to each other and didn't seem to talk notice.
I didn't know what to do.
"It's okay you don't have to be my friend." He whispered, "I don't have any friends. Kids think I'm weird."
I don't have any friends either. Well, besides lunch rush but he likes family.
I crawled out from under Shota's feet. Both adults stopped talking. I looked at Shota not knowing what to do.
"Izuku?"
"Looks like he wants Ida to pet him."
"You want to be friends?" Ida whispered again.
I nodded.
"Did your dog just nod?"
"That is a long story."
Ida reached over and touched my head. He pulled his hand away as soon as he felt my fur. I rushed back under Shota's feet. He bent over and picked me up. Placing me on his lap, "Well Izuku, here, needs a friend too. Izuku, this man is a Hero I trust him he's a good man."
I know what he wanted but I was scared.
They would hate me.
"Izuku."
I shifted. I didn't want to disappoint Shota again so changed back into a human. My face was buried into His chest and he wrapped his arms around me.
"The long story is starting to make sense now."
I didn't want to see Ida's reaction. I kept my eye's closed while Shota hugged me.
"Hi, Izuku. Do." Ida passed with fear in his focus, "do you still want to be friends?"
He was scared of me.
He's just being nice now.
"Izuku. You should look at him."
Trying to be brave I glanced over. Ida was hiding behind his brother. I could barely see his one eye peeking out.
"Aren't you scared of me?" I asked.
"Yeah, but look more scared of me."
"I'm not."
"Are too!"
Ida stepped out from hiding and hopped off the bench walking up to me. I closed my eye trying to disappear.
"See you are more scared than me!"
"I'm not!" I screamed into Shota's chest.
I felt a finger poke my back, "Let's play!"
"I don't know how."
"It's easy! I'll show you come on!"
Shota lifted his arms from hugging me. My chest felt so tight. I am scared. He picked me up and put me back on the ground.
I turned around, but couldn't make eye contact.
Ida grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the playground.
~~~

"Long story short. He is a rescue kid I adopted-ish."

"Adopted-ish?"

"Yeah, there are a lot of things going on."

"Sorry to hear that. Seems like you love him though."

"Every moment he's in my life I wish I had known him sooner."

We watched as Ida pulled Izuku around. We both watched carefully as they went down the slides. At first, Izuku kept looking back at me with worry in his eyes, after the fifth or sixth time he started following Ida by himself.

"Ida has a hard time with other kids. He only does well when they are shyer than him, and that is hard to find."

"I don't think Izuku has played with another kid in years."

"I can see that."

At that very moment, Ida was trying to explain how to use one of the attachments on the playground. Izuku completely not understand and was using it wrong.

"You would be surprised at the bark the Izuku has. He's a spit fire when it comes to me or Nezu. Kids his own age he turns into a different person."

"Oh, it's the opposite with Ida. He's shy everywhere even home. Not as much, but he still has a hard time. He's been bullied a lot. These too should see each other more. It could be good for them. Maybe they will be in the same classes in school one day."

"I'll see what I can do."

Ida tripped scraping his knee. He brought his leg up to his chest and started crying. Izuku panicked running back to me.

"He got hurt! You have to help him!"

"Izuku calm down. See." Ida was already running around again, the blood on his knee already dry.

"Sorry I didn't know. I panicked."

"Want to be his friend?"

Ida ran up hearing the question, "Yeah!" He paused embarrassed, "I mean, I do, but If Izuku doesn't want to be..."

Izuku nodded and that all Ida needed to grabbed his hand and ran off again. Izuku was lost in what was happening. He kept looking back at me. I sat there with Ingenium until the sun started setting.

"I haven't seen Ida have this much fun with someone his age ever. Let's do this again."

"I agree."

Izuku just made a friend.

When we had to go. Ida gave Izuku a hug and walked off with his brother. What a nice kid. I will have to get Nezu to let him come to UA and hang out with Izuku.

It was a good day.
