Eye's
Izuku's POV
My eye's opened but it was still dark. Then I heard someone counting down.
"Five. Four. Three..." At one the metal sheet in front of me lifted open. My mind went on overdrive. I was in a cage, the door just opened. I bolted out. I looked behind me to see a man-made wall with a cage in the rock. 'That's weird.' A second too late I looked back slamming into a chain-link fence making it rattle down. Panic filled me. I started running again along the fence. I ended up back at the rock wall. It was a cage, even if it was big.
My ears perked up as I heard a sweet sound. I cautiously walked down the hill to the huge wall. I noticed that the wall had an entrance in it. But that wasn't my destination. I bent down sniffing. Then I drowned myself in the pool that was forming against the wall. The dryness slowly went away as I drank. I walked around the water to look at the wall. I squinted, then saw movements on the other side. It wasn't a wall. It was glass. I put my head under the water to see if it was glass under the water too. It sure was, and it became easier to see through it. A group of people all wearing the same outfit stood there watching me with smiles. They started pointing when I put my head under the water.
I took off as soon as they pointed. My instinct screamed to go into the hole in the wall. My mind told me it was a trap. My curiosity won as the smell of food came out of it. I haven't eaten for days. I snuck into the cave trying not to be seen by the humans. The cave was man-made. By one wall there was a bowl full to the brim with food. I walked over to it. It was just sitting there. I didn't trust it. I walked back out of the cave.
This cage reeked with other animals. This was someone else's territory.
The smell of the food came back to me only stronger this time. I sulked back to the cave. The bowl was still there. I now noticed that on one of the sides of the cave there was glass. Not only that but it was much easier to look through. The humans were standing there, watching.
I smelled the air again trying to get the sent of the humans. The smell of the bowl overcame me. I walked over to it again putting my head down. It smelled like fish, but it looked nothing like a fish. I walked out of the room watching the humans as I did. I walked back over the stream that flowed into the pool. I looked into it.
For the first time in a while, I saw my reflection. All my hair was shaved off. The only thing that I found comfort in was my eyes. They have always stayed the same.
My reflection didn't matter anymore. A silver flash. There were fish in the pool. I had to think smart, not hard with this. I held very still my head hanging over the water. Then with the luck of the saints, a fly flew right by my face. A fish jumped and was in my teeth before the humans blinked.
I ate the fish but I was still starving. I went back over to the pond but the fish saw me. I walked back over to the cave. Some of the humans left but a lot were still there.
A couple of weeks passed.
The food stayed there but I never touched it. One day hares started to appear. I hunted them easily, but I still felt hungry. For the first week, I woke up in the back of the cage a lot. It seemed one of them had a quirk that could sedate me. I hated this to the bottom of my soul. I would fall asleep and wake up in a different room with people's smell all over me.
Once I was able to get a nasty nip at one of the hands. From that day forward they tied my mouth closed. In one of these's trips, the bandages came off of me. The next one I woke up when a painful sensation overcame me. I was tied down but could feel the liquid entering my body. Then another needle entered my body this time the liquid was thicker.
"Oh crap! He's awake!" That was the last thing I remember that day before I woke up again the bigger cage. That time my body ached with pain.
The next week they didn't make me sleep. This time they put me in another room that had a fence running up the ceiling dividing the room in two.
"Man I hope this goes well."
"Yeah man I think all of Japan is falling in love with this little greeny"
The two figures were on the other side talking to each other. They walked out through a door they opened. Then one of them came back with another animal. Quickly the man took the leash off around the wolf's neck, then stepped away carefully stepping out of the room.
The wolf walked up to the fence looking at me. She growled. I did not want to get close to her. I backed away. I couldn't help that my tail was in-between my legs. She laid down and watched me. After two hours I got up and inched my way towards her. She moved her head and I didn't move another inch that entire time.
A week of doing that passed. The next week was far worse, they took out the divider in the room.
I was crowding in a corner when she walked up to me I stayed as still as possible never even moving when she licked my face. A week later I started following her around. Then she appeared into my cage.
In these weeks they did the same thing. They would introduce a new animal. Then a week later it was in the cage. It stopped after the fifth one. Leaving us at six strong. It's not like I could talk to them. It was more we could sense how the other felt.
The others ate the stuff in the bowls. But I still didn't trust it. I could feel eye's on me whenever I got close to it, but there did seem to be a lot more fish in the pool, but I could feel the eye's on me there too.
The eye's never stopped following me.
I've started hiding from the eyes. My coat has grown back which makes it extremely easy for me to hide. The others hide too but don't care as much. The problem is that the food and water come right where the eyes are always watching.
I was the low of the low here. I know I can fight back and win, but I am an outsider. When I catch a fish I have to run or the others will take it from me.
There have always been eye's on me my entire life. I knew when their gaze landed on me. But I never knew which gaze was the quirk that could knock me out.
"Do you notice that he doesn't howl?" A woman with the smell of monkey on her said.
I woke up in the white room with bars keeping me on one side.
"Yah did you hear that they got Power Loader coming down here to look at the collar?" Another woman.
I've seen these two women many times. One always had the smell of monkeys's the other wore glasses always pushing them up as she held her clipboard. I don't trust the clip, bored women. She is the one who Injected whatever it was into me.
"No way! Is that why I had to use my quirk on him?" monkey woman's voice, "I've never been more scared of any other animal here. He knows, he knows when I'm looking at him."
"He's on the other side of the bars we do not need to worry." She pushed up her glasses.
"It's been getting incredibly hard to get him in this room. He won't be bribed with food. And he doesn't make any sounds. Plus his green coat, he's good at hiding. I think we should put a tracker on him."
"Or in him."
Fear spread through me as I looked up at the two women.
"I know he has a quirk. I know that we have been evaluating him and he shows no sign of understanding us." She took a deep breath, "But..."
"Sometimes you don't believe it?" Specs took her glasses off and cleaned them.
"Yah like what if he understands every word we are saying." monkey's eyes were on me.
They both looked at me uncomfortably.
"Well, when Power Loader comes he can give us more details." Specs place her glasses back on, "We just have to wait a litter longer."
