Shit...

Aidan sucks in his breath when he sees the flurry of comments on his Instagram, being tagged in posts about him and his love but it wasn't going as well as he thought it would be. He immediately got worried about (y/n), hoping that she hadn't seen the backlash of the negativity and the craziness of the online community being in chaos when they saw the leaked photos of the two of them on their date. The news of them dating was not being perceived lightly.

"Aidan, this was bound to happen. We know this situation is a fifty-fifty chance." Rob sighs as he gently holds his son's shoulder, overlooking the negative comments even he was receiving on his Instagram.

"At least (y/n)'s account is private. She's been keeping check of who's requesting to follow her and ignoring them. But her messages are being bombarded with requests." The brunette sighs, muting his phone to ignore the notifications that were giving him a headache.

"She's not opening them, is she son?"

"No, but her screen gives her previews of the messages she getting. They're horrible dad." Aidan ran his hands down his face, getting up to head up to his room to look for his love and make sure she was ok. He was checking on her every now and then but he knew she was smart enough to ignore the online community. She had her phone on mute too and tried not to look at the messages she got.

He peeks his head through the doorway, seeing her on her laptop looking absolutely exhausted. The brunette walks over to his love and sits down next to her, frowning when he sees the barrage of notifications pop up on her screen. His love was logged into her other Instagram account she had that was public, posts being mainly food and experiences and she forgot to turn it to private but it was too late. The community found her other account and was leaving such horrid comments.

"I'm so sorry (y/n)." Aidan was upset, for her, about the whole situation. He just wanted them to be able to be together peacefully. He gently takes her laptop and closes it after she turns her account private, setting it behind him so she doesn't see the screen anymore. He couldn't tell how she was feeling, her face blank but her jaw was clenched in annoyance and frustration. "(Y/n)..."

"It was a fifty-fifty chance. I know..." she breathes out, looking so tired and she leans against his shoulder. "Only good thing is that they don't know what I look like... Aidan I'm worried about doing the next step of the plan. With how mean they are and-"

"-we won't deal with it now. We need to let the storm fade and let them calm down first. Just... give it some time..." he sighs out, pressing a kiss on top of his love's head. "Trust me, I've been through plenty of these moments, unfortunately... We stand with what we believe and we don't let other people take that away from us. And I believe in us, I won't let anyone take you from me. I'm not leaving us, I'm not leaving you. We're here together ok. I love you (y/n). I'm not letting this break us."

Aidan breathes out softly, holding (y/n)'s face as she looks up at him sadly. He strokes her cheeks lovingly and presses a kiss on her forehead before pulling her into a hug. He rocks her softly, cradling her head to his chest as she holds him tight.

"We can get through this."

The couple hold each other, unknowing of the few rays of kind words that they receive on their accounts from people who support them. 

A few in a million but a few enough.

Aidan looks out the window as the car drove by the beautiful fields of green and bright blue ocean, his fingers brushing (y/n)'s arm gently as she slept on his shoulder. He nestles his head ontop of hers, pulling her closer to keep her arm as he tucks his jacket over her shoulders. He was glad that she decided to go on this trip with him, a trip where he was visiting family in Denmark and he had asked her to join him. 1. to introduce her to his family and 2. to let her escape the harsh comments and give her a break. He knew she needed a vacation, just time away from everything and thought that bringing her here would help her clear her.

The internet was still in utter chaos but it had calmed down, enough that a few more supportive comments started popping up but the couple just needed a break away from everything. They just needed to be near each other without the worry of keeping up appearances and all the plans of just trying to come out as a couple.

"My love..." the brunette whispers against his love's hair, kissing the top of head as he coaxes her awake. She groans softly but wakes up slowly as the car slows down to a house on a hill overlooking the ocean, her rubbing her face against his shoulder and he muses softly. "(y/n), we're here." he croons her chin up as she looks around sleepily, huddling closer to him from the cold and he smiles sweetly at her. "Come on, up we go." he gets out of the car first and comes around to her side to open the door for her, holding her hand and helping her out. He just felt warmth in his chest that his love was willingly letting him hold her now, to be more affectionate with him and he hoped for the best for this vacation that it lifts her moods.

"Holy shit..." (y/n) gasps as she looked around the little town, in awe of how peaceful and adoring it was. It felt amazing to be in this place far from civilisation, to be so far away in your own little world.

Aidan smiles in relief, helping his parents take the small amount of luggage everyone took for this trip into the house, letting his love enjoy the water crashing against the shore below her. He was glad she was already enjoying herself. He comes back out and takes hold of her hand to gain her attention, her squeezing his hand back and his heart flutters.

"Ready to meet some of my uncles?" he asks and she clears her throat in nervousness, trying to fix her appearance but he gently stops her with a bright smile. "You are so beautiful, they will love you."

"I... alright..." she nods and the brunette leads his love into the house where his family greets them.

"Everyone, this is (y/n). My lovely girlfriend." he holds her shoulders to squeeze her assuringly as she waves shyly to his uncle, auntie and their little newborn.

"Oh Aidan, she's absolutely lovely!" his auntie exclaims, rushing forward to hug the girl and he chuckles as his love wheezes in shock. "Your parents have been telling us all about her! I'm so glad to meet you in person!"

"You have to tell us how Aidan managed to rizz you up and be his girlfriend." the uncle chuckles and the young couple winces at his use of using the new slang.

"Yeah... that did not sound right when you said that uncle." Aidan chuckles, gently pulling his love back from his auntie once she lets her go.

"It's nice to meet everyone too. This place is so beautiful. It just feels like we're in another world." (y/n) breathes out happily.

"It's the best part, being able to have our little one grow up in a beautiful place like this." the uncle says, cooing to his child who blinks at the new girl. The brunette smiles as his love waves at his new family member.

"Now, I bet you both must be hungry! I made some snacks and sandwiches for everyone while we get the barbeque ready!" the auntie exclaims happily while Rob and Lauren bring over the bags of groceries they bought for tonight's festivities.

"You didn't have to-"

"-nonsense girl, go eat up and you and Aidan can explore! Have fun you two!" the auntie urges the young couple to enjoy themselves, gently leading them out. to the balcony where their snacks were waiting for them.

"Your family is really sweet." (y/n) flushes as Aidan pulls out a chair for her to sit down first before he settles down next to her, the both of them enjoying their fill of snacks before they go exploring.

"I told you they would love you. How can they not, especially when I fell in love with you." he grins as she blushed, leaning over to kiss her cheek softly.

Aidan looks over at (y/n) with a big smile to see her enjoying herself as they walked down the path that winds around the island between the small town and his family's home, holding her hand happily as she swung their arms between them. It felt like a weight was lifted off his chest to see her smile at him before looking up at the sky and just watching the clouds go by. They had visited the town together to see the little shops and the locals, to see the handmade treats and foods from mom-and-pop shops, and just enjoying the bright and open air of this new place.

The brunette takes his love closer to home, heading to the large rocks that she wanted to climb on. "Easy, love." he holds her hand tightly to help her up but was surprised to see her zoom up easily, turning to smirk at him when he started falling behind and stumbling.

"Easy, love." she muses and he chuckles, taking hold of her hand so she could help him up on the rocks. He was amused to see how much fun she was having just climbing up, finding a flat area for the both of them to perch on and he sat down before holding her hand and helping her down next to him. He quickly holds her waist tight and pulls her close to make sure she doesn't fall back and she gets flustered which he notices.

(y/n) lays down on the rock to watch the clouds slowly move along the beautiful blue sky, closing her eyes to listen to the water against the shore and the sounds of the birds. Aidan was just in awe of her, a smile of absolute love for her and he lays down next to her to just admire his love. The way the wind gently breezed through her hair, the peace on her face and the ease in her body.

Maybe I should get a house together for her out in a small town like this...

The brunette lays on his side and props up on his arm next to his love, his other free hand gently brushing her hair back which makes her open her eyes. He adores the blush that warms her cheeks and the warmth in her doe eyes when she looks at him, his breath hitching when she leans into his touch when he strokes her cheek lovingly. The couple were just in their moment together, smiling at each other with so much love.

They didn't know that a certain dad was smiling widely as he took a video of the couple, zooming in to show how in love they were with each other. Rob felt proud seeing how well his son was treating his girlfriend, taking pictures of when he leaned down to kiss his girlfriend's nose.

Aidan chuckles softly as (y/n) hides her face against his chest, him moving back down to lay with her and moving his hand under her head to let her be closer to him. He didn't want her having a headache as they laid on the rock, slowly falling asleep together to take a nap beneath the blue sky.

The beautiful day was just about starting to end, the sun starting to set over the changing-coloured sky and the golden ocean. It was almost a bittersweet moment to watch this end but also lovely to see the sunset that graced over the water. It was a view to see at least once in your lifetime, a peaceful moment that felt so freeing.

(y/n) stood by the open doorway and leaned against the frame, watching the sun set as the waves crashed against the shore, the final few clouds drifted along the multi-coloured sky and she felt...

She didn't know what to feel.

Almost sad but at peace.

She wished she could see this again.

Aidan looks up from the back balcony to see his love watching the sunset so earnestly and he grew worried, knowing she falling into her dark depths again. It was moments like this that somehow made her heart cry.

He walks up behind her silently and gently leans his chin on her shoulder, making her jump in surprise but lets him wrap his arms around her waist to hug her tightly. She relaxes back into his arms as she holds his hands around her,  leaning to the petal soft kiss he presses on her cheek. She looks up at him and gives him a soft smile before leaning up to press a light kiss on his jaw. The brunette couldn't explain the overwhelming happiness he felt from her affection since it was a big step from her since her being reserved, leaning his chin back on her shoulder and smooshing his cheek against hers happily.

 The couple both didn't that Rob was recording them on a drone, taking a video of the loving couple. He made it his job to have video proof of the loving they both shared, to prove to those that they chose each other willingly, that they chose to love each other. 

That their hearts were forever entwined.

"The barbeque is ready..." Aidan whispers, almost afraid to break the moment.

(y/n) hums and turns to rest her head on his chest as he hugged her. "Let's go."

"We can stay out here and watch the sunset."

"We can see it from the balcony. Can't keep your family waiting."

The brunette nuzzles his nose against his loves with a smile, gently pulling her away from the doorway and to the balcony where his family was cooking up a delicious storm of breads, vegetables, sides, patties and sausages.

"And here comes the couple!" Lauren muses as she sets a plate of food down on the table, Aidan's uncle chucking fire into the firepit to keep it burning big and bright.

"Everything looks really good!" (y/n) smiles, definitely feeling hungry now.

"Good, cause we're all ready to eat!" the brunette's auntie announces, the entire family coming together to eat and talk. It was such a lovely moment with uproars of passionate conversation and sharing of interests, everyone getting to know each other much better. 

The family cleared up the food and sat down on the couches around the firepit together, listening to Aidan playing a song on the guitar after his uncle and auntie asked if he could play for them. He happily played for them, strumming along with the strings. He blushes as (y/n) rests her head back against his thigh since she was nestled on the floor, smiling down at her happily when she looks up with a soft look for him and he plays her song. She nuzzles his thigh and he reaches down to stroke her cheek before continuing to play his guitar for her.

The night moved on peacefully along with the music and it quickly turned dark but the large fire pit was keeping everyone warm. The brunette had gently passed the guitar back to his uncle so he could pick up his love and have her sit on the couch with him instead, wrapping a blanket around the both of them as they nestled together. He breathes out happily and closes his eyes in bliss as his love rests her head on his chest, hugging him while he held her and kept them warm beneath the blankets. He opens his eyes and looks down at her as she listens to his family talk about whatever they were talking about, smiling brightly seeing her enjoy herself with them.

"Hey, (y/n)?" He whispers and his love looks up at him.

"Yeah?"

He strokes her cheek lovingly, pressing a kiss on her forehead. "I love you."
