"Did you know that Aidan's ears turn pink when he lies?"

"They do not!" the boy gasps in embarrassment as his family was now telling funny stories about him to his girlfriend.

"Look! They're turning pink now!" his cousins joke and he covers his ears, smiling when he hears (y/n) giggling.

"I have seen them turn pink especially when you're blushing." she muses quietly to him and Aidan flushes at that realisation, scrunching his nose at her as she pulls at the tips of his ears playfully.

Dinner was going by smoothly, the food was all eaten and the younger kids falling asleep on the couches, the adults now having after-dinner snacks and sweets. "Aidan, would you like any sweets?" someone on the table asks and he shakes his head with a smile.

"No thank you. I've had plenty." he licks his lips as he glances at his girlfriend who flushes next to him, smirking at her while sucking his fingers clean. She clears her throat and stands up to clear her plate, helping Lauren with the dishes while the family went around the table and said what they were grateful for. She could feel eyes on her and knew that her boyfriend was staring, rolling her eyes with a smile as she walks back when she was done to sit next to him at the table. He immediately moves to grab her thigh and grips it tight like he had been doing the entire dinner, buzzing with heat when she leans into him further and lays her head on his shoulder.

"Aidan, what are you grateful for?" he breaks out of his trance of admiring his beautiful girl, clearing his throat.

"My friends, my family, Steve, Jess, the cast. There's just so much I'm grateful for, for those raising me, for those helping me through my career," Aidan turns to (y/n) and she looks up at him, nodding her head in a way to ask him what's wrong. "and for those being there in the moment with me. I'm grateful for you especially (y/n)." this makes her sit up straight with a bright blush and he coos at how cute she was, kissing her cheek and making her turn even more red.

"Look how cute those two are!"

"They're so sweet together!"

"(y/n), what are you grateful for?" Rob asks and she thinks about it.

"Well, this might be cheesy but I'm thankful for Aidan, for finding him, meeting him and being able to be with him. I've been the happiest I've ever been." Aidan turns bright red, a goofy smile growing on his face and (y/n) chuckles at how shy he looked. "And... this one is more of a surprise but I applied for an international cultural exchange program through my university to work in Florida... for Disney."

"No way!" the brunette gasps in excitement, holding his love's hands tightly. "Did you get it!? Tell me you did!" his eyes widen when his love smiles wider and nods and he fist-pumps the air. "That's my girl! Oh my god, you got in! Why didn't you tell me!?"

"I wanted to make sure I got in first. It was such a spur-of-the-moment decision when I was at home and I just got the confirmation email during our flight here."

"For Disney! Baby for the most iconic companies ever! I'm so proud of you!" the whole family congratulated the girl while she was being smothered by kisses from her boyfriend who held her tightly.

"Thank you, sorry, that was the other thing I was grateful for."

"And you should be dear! That's amazing!" Lauren congratulates (y/n).

It was now getting late and Aidan and his family were saying goodbye to his relatives, standing on the front porch to bid them farewell as they walked past out of the house. Some of them said good things about (y/n), saying how much of a sweet and kind girl she is and he felt so happy that his family likes her.

"Aidan, lovely dinner. It was nice to meet your girlfriend too."

"Thank you-"

"-although it's a little weird. You dating a girl like her." the smile on Aidan's face immediately falls, not liking where this conversation was going. "I did not expect you to date someone of her race and colour. You should be careful, girls like her are only after your money-"

"-I know with one hundred per cent certainty that she is not like that and will never be like that!" he grits his teeth. "How can you say things like that? You don't even know her! (y/n) not only has one job, not only two, but three jobs! She studies, she's a university student, she looks after her family, she takes time out to still spend time with me and my family and if you didn't already hear, she's going to work at Disney! She's a hard worker and I'm proud to be her boyfriend! She's kind and caring and self-sacrificing!

You don't know a thing about her! Not even the fact that she's the saver in this relationship! Not once has she asked me to buy anything for her, not once has she asked me to give her money! She can easily buy her own things without me! She doesn't even ask me to buy her flight tickets when she wants to visit me! She earns herself and I'm so proud of her for that! So don't you dare say that she's only with me for my money cause I have never given her a penny!

You know why I'm so sure and safe with her? Because she's independent, she's strong, she knows how to take care of herself when we are apart. I know she can easily move on without me if we broke up, I know she would be fine because I know she doesn't need me or my money! That's how I know she's perfect, that's how I know that she's the one because she will never ask me for my money!"

"Aidan-"

"-how dare you discriminate against her! Colour, race, it doesn't matter to me because I asked her to be my girlfriend, I asked her to be with me and for some lucky reason she said yes to me! I don't want you to talk to (y/n) again, I don't want you near her, I don't want you to look at her! You will never approach her again!"

Aidan sneers, storming off when his mother tries to calm him down. He walks up to (y/n) who was in the kitchen and she looks up at him with a smile while holding a bowl of chocolate pudding. "Do you want some?" she held up the spoon to feed him with a smile but he grabs it to set it on the table before holding her neck, diving down to kiss her hard. She gasps against the sudden heat, her hands grasping his shirt as he kisses her passionately and she pushes up to kiss him too. He couldn't give two shits that his relatives could see them, he wanted to show them that his love is the one. He moves one of his hands to wrap around her waist to pull her closer, bunching her dress tightly to never let her go. They pull apart from the bruising kiss and he looks down at her with such a determined look while she blushes red from the sudden display of major affection.

"Aidan, what's wrong? What happened?" She looks up at him and his heart soars that, that was the first thing she asks him. He knew from the beginning that she was caring at heart, but to hear her always make sure that he was ok made him fall in love with her all over again. He never had any doubts in their relationship before in the beginning and will never have any doubts now or ever again. It was her, only her that he will give his heart to, only her he will love forever because she already held his heart.

He smiles widely with so much love for her, making her smile in return and his heart jumps happily as he holds her cheeks gently. "Nothing's wrong. Everything is perfect... you're perfect..." he leans down to kiss her sweetly this time, softly and full of love for her as he brushes his fingers against her cheeks.

"Easy my love." Aidan whispers as he helped (y/n) up the stairs, sleepy and slightly tipsy in his arms as she hummed softly. He smiles and bends down to pick her up despite her complaints that she can walk, hugging him like a koala as she rests her head against his shoulder. He takes them to his bedroom, closing the door behind her and gently setting down his love on his bed before he goes to grab her makeup bag.

Aidan helps (y/n) take off her makeup for her since she was too tired, tying up her hair gently and using the cotton pad with micellar water to softly wipe her face clean. He laughs in amusement at how tired and cute she looks, sitting down on the bed next to her and she stares at his wide smile. She couldn't take her eyes off him and her heart pounds heavily from how happy he looked, like genuinely happy. His smile was wide and beautiful and toothy and it made her tear up with a soft smile. 

She reaches up to hold his face so softly like he might disappear from her, gently brushing her thumbs against his cheeks and his heart races from the sweet gesture. He saw her have this sweet adoring look in her eyes for him, a look that was indescribable but recognisable at the same time. A look that she had for him in hopes that he stays happy like this forever. She wanted him to be happy like this forever, to be smiling like this and to never have any heartache ever. And this look was all for him.

She couldn't explain the sudden rush of emotions, not understanding why she started crying despite the smile on her face. She couldn't understand why and how her heart beat like crazy when he leans into her touch, closing his eyes before looking at her softly with his own share of tears. "Your smile is beautiful Aidan..." she whispers, brushing her knuckles against the apples of his cheeks and his heart explodes with love for her while her heart starts to realise her love for him.
