How are you doing
baby?
(y/n) blushes as she reads over the message, feeling all fluttery when she read the pet name. She didn't think that she would be into it but once Aidan had started calling her that, she couldn't help but melt. Now she knows why people think it's cute. She thought it was cringe before but good god did it make her feel fuzzy.
I'm doing good. You?
Just coming back from
work right now.
What about you?
Heading to work now
actually.
How was your week?
Ever since the couple had split apart geographically, they promised to call once a week at the end of the week to update each other on what they did. It was a way for them both to be able to talk to each other long into the night without the conversation dying out. They would send each other little updates between the week as well if they really missed each other but this was the best option considering how busy they both were.
Can I call you?
Yeah!
"Hi, baby."
(y/n) melts against the train seat she was sitting in, flustered from hearing Aidan's husky voice after a long day of shooting.
"Hi..."
He smirks knowing his girl was probably all flustered right now, especially when he hears her breath hitch.
"Wait, let me face time you."
He FaceTime's her and smiles seeing her wave at him as she pulls her mask down.
"Not the most flattering look since I'm going to work..."
"You look beautiful anyway. So what have you been up to?"
"Not much. Mostly just working as much as I can before my classes start. Oh! I went out on Saturday with my best friend."
"Friday for me I'm guessing."
"Yep! Another friend of mine found this underground bar that had a burlesque show so the two of us went together to have dinner and bar hop. We went to the club after."
Aidan raises a brow at (y/n)'s words.
"Nothing happened I promise you. I told her we got together and she swore to keep us away from all guys. Except for the ones she ends up snogging..."
As soon as (y/n) got back home from Toronto, the first thing she did was call her best friend who eagerly asked her if she kissed Aidan. (y/n) ran out of the hotel room when he asked her to be his girlfriend and she needed someone to rant to, to get a better understanding of her feelings if she spoke to someone and her friend helped her calm down.
"Do you like him?"
"I do, I really do."
"Then go for it. This is a once in a lifetime chance! Experience being with someone and having them love you as you love them back! Don't push him away."
"I don't know... what if it goes down the hill? What if something happens?"
"Relationships are like that. You don't know what's going to happen unless you go for it. There's ups and downs. All that matters is that you like him and you give this a shot."
"Ok... yeah I will."
(y/n) spoke to her friend how she wanted to get Aidan a gift before she left and how she wanted to take the next step with him. She wanted leave him something to remember and tried to understand her friend when she explained to her how to kiss someone. In the end, she suggested (y/n) to be simple and do what she was comfortable with so she gave Aidan a kiss by the corner of his lips. To be honest, she wasn't even sure if she did that right.
And (y/n) told her best friend everything that happened in Toronto the next day when they had brunch together in the city. Her best friend was so excited for her being in her first relationship and asked her how she felt being someone's girlfriend. (y/n) didn't know yet but she told her best friend that she wants to take it a day at a time and enjoy being with Aidan and calling him every week.
"You're officially off the market! I'll make sure to keep the guys away from you!"
"Yeah, and you'll take them yourself haha."
"Oh, I'm so proud of you (y/n)! Are you going to tell the others?"
"No, they left me behind so I'm not telling them."
Aidan hums sweetly as he sat in the jeep heading to his hotel, listening to (y/n).
"I have a ball and a concert coming up next week so I'm excited about that."
"You didn't show me your dress."
"Oh my god, I didn't! I'll send a picture tomorrow! I love it. It's a little big but it fits the theme perfectly."
"I know you'll look stunning in it. Who's concert are you going to?"
"Stray Kids. They're a Korean Pop boy band and I'm also going to a One Republic one next month."
The brunette was interested in this piece of information about his girlfriend.
"My cousin got us tickets to go for Stray Kids so I'm excited for that. It's my first ever concert!"
"You've never been to one before!?"
"Nope! I couldn't afford it before but now I can. I want to come and see you at your concerts too."
"I promise you, You'll get front-stage action baby and free tickets."
Aidan enjoys how red (y/n) gets and he coos softly.
"I'll bring you around backstage and show you around and you can listen right up front where I can see you."
"I really would love to hear you play your guitar on stage and sing..."
"Then it's settled. I'll make sure to put your hometown on the tour list."
"You don't have to-"
"-I'm going to cause then I get to see you."
"You really have a way with words, don't you."
"Of course I do baby. I have to sweep you off your feet. What music genre are you into?"
"Well, a bit of everything I guess. I'm not settled on one band specifically-well I had a four-year phase with BTS from 2016 but it's waning which makes me feel guilty-but for me, if the song has a good beat and good lyrics I'm hooked. Maybe I like pop more than others but yeah."
"So that's why you like Miss You? Was it the lyrics?"
"It was yes, and the melody to it. It's so sweet."
"I'll keep that in mind when I write a song about you."
"Aidan!"
(y/n) gasps in shock as he winks at her. Truth be told, Aidan had already started working on something for her.
"Where should I play it? On stage in front of you? In public? Maybe I announce it to the world after I declare that you're my one and only?"
He coos as his girl hides her face, smiling at how she blushed at his words and toyed with the cords of her earphones shyly.
"Stop it...!"
"Nah, I think I like seeing you get all flustered and sweet for me baby."
"Aidan!"
He chuckles and stops teasing her, letting her talk.
"My mum also had a friend come over to stay with us for a week. It's been four years since we've seen her since she moved to Adelaide so it has been nice catching up. But I was hoping to go out all together like we did before but she doesn't have the time. Neither do we."
"I'm sure she understands. Don't have to spend all day together for it to be meaningful."
"You're right! We spent the night together yesterday going to a street vendor for some dosa and idli while having a late-night walk. It really was a lot of fun."
"I'm glad to see you have fun baby."
"What about you? How was your week?"
"Long and hectic but Justin and Robert know how to make things fun. Oh shit, I have to tell you what happened with Tom and Elliot!"
"Lay it on me! I got plenty of time before work."
Aidan grins and goes on a rant to (y/n) about his week while she showed him how she travelled to work, listening to him intently and laughing at the chaos he had to explain that happened one time during the week.
~~~~~~~~
"And I reached an achievement! You know those champagne, prosecco bottles with the corks right?"
"Yes though I don't drink."
"Well, I managed to pull out a cork for the first time during my retail shift! I got stronger!"
"That's great baby! I can see gym is really working out for you!"
"Me too! I managed to survive an eight hour dinner shift carrying trays too! I would've died doing that but I managed to see through to the end!"
"That's fantastic! I can see my tips have been helping you."
"They have, thank you."
Aidan grins as he watched (y/n) flit around her home while making a late breakfast, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. Months have gone by and the two still talked to each other, staying strong. They built up the habit of talking every Sunday and the couple couldn't wait until the end of the week to talk to each other.
"By the way, I saw on Instagram a picture of you in your suit. You looked like you were yelling."
His girl chuckles lightly and he remembers exactly which picture she was talking about.
"I saw the photographer and I told him off while he was taking a picture. People honestly don't understand privacy these days."
"Oh. I guess I can see how it's bad yeah... I was kinda using his account to see spoilers about the show but I guess he's not an all-too-great guy. I'll unfollow him."
"Thank you baby."
"Where are you by the way? It sounds like there is quite a few people."
The brunette grins in excitement when his girl finally notices, winking at her as he flips the camera around to show her. She was a little confused at first until she recognised the place.
"Wait... that looks familiar-that's the harbour! I can see the Opera house-YOU'RE HERE IN SYDNEY!?"
"Ding ding ding, and you get a prize!"
"When did you get here!? Why are you here!? What about work!?"
"That's a surprise. And I actually just got here today. Heading to our accommodation right now. I can't wait to see you tomorrow. I missed you so much (y/n)."
"I missed you too! Oh my god, where are you staying?"
"At Bondi Beach. We rented out this large house for the whole cast to stay in while we film the rest of the show here in Sydney."
"You what!?"
"I'll tell you more tomorrow."
"I'll come as soon as I wake up! It's roughly an hour away so maybe I can get my mum to drop me to the station before she drops off my sister to school."
"Take your time baby."
Aidan would be lying if he said he meant that. He wanted to see (y/n) as soon as possible and being so close to her like this, it was impossible to keep his excitement down.
