"(Y/N) GET UP!" Aidan slams the door open and immediately gets hit with a pillow to the face, blinking in surprise as it falls to the floor.
"Shut up..." he snickers as he sees her hiding beneath her blankets and he goes over to pull it off her. "Aidan!" (y/n) hisses in embarrassment and he awes at how she was curled around a pillow that she hugged in her sleep before getting wacked with it.
"Ok sorry! But you promised we would go shopping today!"
"Why are you so eager to walk around a mall?" she groans, sitting up and rubbing her eyes.
"Because we didn't get to go to one the last time you came here."
"And?"
"And, it's going to be fun!"
"Aidan, the public is dangerous with me around you." (y/n) warns him and he shrugs.
"I'll have a mask and beanie on! No one will know it's me."
"Until you use your credit card or something..." Aidan watches her as she rolls her eyes and he frowns, her going into the bathroom to freshen up.
"That's why I got cash!"
"You promised no spending!" he hears her yell out and he grins.
No, I didn't!
"Get dressed and come down for breakfast. I got the car for today so I can drive you around." the brunette really just wanted to spend a cute mall day out with his 'friend'. Plus he needed to buy her something.
The girl shrugs at why her friend was so excited but does as he asks, freshening up and changing into her grey plaid pants, boots, and a thick black turtleneck with a heavy knitted sweater. (y/n) heads downstairs while plating her hair, oblivious to the way Aidan stares at her with wide eyes at how lovely she looks.
So pretty...
His eyes follow her as she had her breakfast and her tea, finishing up to wash the dishes and putting them away before turning to him and he quickly looks away. He clears his throat, pretending to read.
"Ok, I'm all ready." he quickly stands up, nodding at her as he tried to calm his blush that made his ears red.
"Let's go." he doesn't realise the way she looked at him, starstruck as he fiddles with the sleeves of his jacket that he wore over his sweater that hung a bit low. He brushes his hair back as he grabs the keys, putting on his boots after and brushes his jeans of any dust.
Holy shit he's beautiful.
(y/n) gaped at how handsome Aidan was, shaking her head and running after him so they could get in the car in the garage. The door opens and they backed out, driving off to the mall in awkward silence. They tried not to look at each other because they knew they did, they would be a blushing mess. They got parked close to the mall, the brunette jumping out quickly to open the door for the girl and she was so glad her cheeks her hidden behind her mask and so was he.
"Let's go?" Aidan asks and (y/n) nods, following close behind him until she moves to hold his sleeve when they entered the very packed mall. "So what do you need?"
"I checked last night and I kinda need winter durable pants. And sweaters for the outdoors. Two of each should be enough."
"Do you have gloves?"
"Oh shit... I think I forgot to pack those!"
"Then add gloves to the list too."
"So which stores should we go to? There's so many..." Aidan grins and leads the way, showing (y/n) around the mall. He follows her around as she scopes out what she likes and he figures that she prefers more monotone colours even though her mum complains about not owning any colourful clothing at all. It was the opposite for him, he loves being out there and bright with his clothing, it matches his upbeat personality but she was more mellow and calm. He sits on a couch as she tries on a few sweaters, taking hers off to try on the first one that he actually picked out for her.
Aidan sits up quickly with concern, his brows furrowing with worry when he noticed (y/n) looked a little different.
Has she been eating properly?
She looks smaller than before.
She has been going to the gym so maybe that's why... but she doesn't eat properly so I hope she's ok...
"What do you think?" she turns to him, and he smiles at her.
"Like an adorable marshmallow." She had on a soft and very fluffy cream-coloured sweater that was thick and looked like it swallowed her up in the fabric.
"It's very warm in this. I like it!"
"I'll hold it for you." (y/n) narrows her eyes at Aidan and he grins. "I'm not going to buy it for you. Don't worry. Try on this one." he passes her a soft greenish-brown coloured one that matched his eyes.
"I look like a tree." she snickers as she looks in the mirror after putting it on. "Let me try the navy one." She switches sweaters to put on the knitted navy one."
"That one looks good on you." the brunette compliments, enjoying how her cheeks flush.
"I guess I got my two sweaters." as she tried to take it off, a thread gets caught in her earrings and she huffs in annoyance.
"Wait, I'll get it." Aidan helps her to carefully take the thread off, brushing her hair back and he notices her double helix piercing that he apparently completely missed. "I didn't know you had another piercing. Cool..." he misses the way (y/n) looks up at him with wide eyes from how close he was to her, being able to smell the cologne on his sweater and she shudders from his cold fingers gently pulling on her ear.
"Oi! Stop it!" She swats him away and he grins mischievously. "I'm just going to go find some pants." she hands him her sweaters and he waits until she was out of sight to walk off to buy them.
Aidan stops when he passes a jewellery section, walking back to find an aisle of simply silver necklaces with initial charms. He finds one with the letter A, a beautiful silver necklace with a cursive A that had gems embedded into it. He quickly takes the necklace and goes to the counter to buy everything before going back to his spot from before, tucking the small bag with the necklace in his jacket pocket.
"You didn't!" (y/n) gasps when she sees him standing there like he did nothing wrong while trying to hide the bags behind him. "What did I tell you!" he shows his fingers that were crossed behind him and she narrows her eyes at him. "How much were they?" she tries to take the bags and Aidan quickly snatches the pants she was going to buy to pay for them. "Don't you dare!" She runs after him, apologising to the other shoppers but she groans in defeat to see the cashier already take his money, bagging the items and handing them to him with his change.
"You can't win against me (y/n)." Aidan chuckles, ignoring her glare as he walks out of the shop and she quickly follows behind him.
"Let me at least buy you coffee. I'm begging you here! You've been spending too much on me..." he falters seeing how uncomfortable (y/n) was and he feels absolutely guilty.
Maybe I pushed it too far with the spending...
"You can buy me lunch and a coffee." he feels lighter seeing her let out a sigh of relief, nodding her head.
"On it! Where would you like to go to eat?" he leads her to his favourite cafe in the mall, always quiet and the perfect place where he wouldn't be recognised since not many people visit this cafe.
(y/n) orders whatever Aidan wanted, buying some lunch for herself too and pays for it before the both of them sat down in a back hidden booth. He leans his head in his hands as he looks at her when she takes her mask off while admiring the cute cafe, toying with the little figurines on the table.
"What?" she looks at him in confusion and he quickly sits up straight.
"Nothing! Nothing." A waiter comes by to place their orders and they look around carefully for anyone before taking their masks off. While they were eating, the brunette blurted out his question. "Why do you hate people buying you things?"
(Y/n) stills at the question and looks up at her friend sitting opposite her. "Because I can buy them myself. I work for a reason. I buy things I need and I don't spend too much on unnecessary things. It's just a waste. And I don't like being indebted to someone. I should be able to look after myself, no one else needs to waste their time or money looking after me-"
"-it's not a waste to look after you, to spend on you. You don't have to be independent all the time. It's ok to lean on someone and let them care for you..."
"I can't-"
"-you grew up too fast (y/n), you lost your childhood to mature quicker than you're supposed to..." Aidan frowns as he leans over to hold her hand. "You don't ever have to feel indebted to me at all. Whatever I do is because I want you to experience everything you missed out on."
(Y/n) falters and pulls her hands back. "But I do feel like that... I feel like I'm taking advantage of you and I feel so wrong for it even though I never asked for it. And it makes me feel worse knowing you're famous. It makes me feel like a-"
"-you're not a gold digger." He hisses softly, hurt that she would ever think of herself like that. "Not once have you asked me for anything. I'm sorry. You're not using me for my money, I know that. You didn't befriend me because of my status, I one hundred per cent know that. You're a hard worker and you pride yourself on it. I didn't want you to feel like that (y/n), I'm so sorry."
"I'm sorry for causing such a fuss over this..."
"It's not a fuss. I'm glad you told me. I just want you to be happy and comfortable around me. I want you to have fun."
"And I do really, just, let me pay for myself or please equal it between us."
"I promise you."
"Good, can I pay you back for my clothes then?"
Aidan grins and shakes his head no. "Let this be my last gift for you." He couldn't let her pay since he was taking her away from her work and she wouldn't be paid for weeks because of him, so he would try to abide by her rules but also continue to spoil her as much as he could without going overboard.
(Y/n) sighs in defeat but nods, unknowing of the gift her friend had hidden away in his pocket making him grimace slightly. "Ok fine. But after that. Equal split."
"Equal split it is."
