"Sorry to keep you waiting." (y/n) fumbles with her stuff and Aidan goes to help her, closing her bottle for her while she cleaned her glasses and puts them on before taking her bottle to put it in her bag.
"You didn't keep me waiting at all. Should we head off?" she nods and he leads her to the garage where his car was parked, the two getting in. (y/n) sits in the front seat, relaxing in the car as Aidan opens the garage door before backing out to drive off to the cinema. She moves to turn the radio on but stops since it wasn't her car. "You can turn the radio on, it's fine." the brunette smiles, letting her turn it on to play music softly in the car. He glances over every now and then when he hears her hum to the song, turning it up for her so she can sing if she wants to. She sings quietly along with the song, her voice hidden behind the artist but he could still her softly.
Along the way (y/n) gets more into the songs and starts to sing louder, Aidan feeling warm that she was becoming comfortable in his presence and he joins in too. She stops immediately as he starts singing softly with her, caught off guard by how sweet he sounds. She knew he could sing, and well in some cases, but actually hearing him in person...
He's not such of a bad singer.
He stops at a red light and pauses his singing, blinking at her to see her quickly look away in embarrassment. "What's wrong?"
"It's nothing..." he could tell she was lying from the way she avoided looking at him and he smirks.
"I know it's not nothing. Now spill."
"Fine!" she exasperates, flushing pink. "You're a really good singer. Better than me by far anyway since I sound way too monotone."
Aidan's ears turn pink at the compliment and he smiles at (y/n). "Why thank you. You don't sound too bad yourself."
"Please," she scoffs. "I have no sense of pitch or notes."
"Who cares! We can sing as loud as we want!" the brunette turns up the volume, singing loudly to try and get his friend back into enjoying herself and she does. The two sing loudly together until they get to the cinema, laughing together when people gave them strange looks.
"Oh I miss belting out to songs on road trips." she sighs out, unbuckling her seat before putting her mask on.
"They're the best aren't they." Aidan nods in agreement, his mask on securely to cover his face and putting on a hat. "Ok, how do I look?" he asks his friend who blinks at him.
"Like a stalker."
"Hey!" he shoves her playfully.
"I'll get the tickets-"
"-nope! I'm hosting you so I'm paying for everything."
"Don't!" she quickly gets out of the car when he does, the car being locked as she chases after him when he runs away. "I swear to god!" he chuckles, going up to the counter and ordering two buckets of popcorn. "Don't you dare!"
"Do you want any drinks?" he calls out to her and she shakes her head, ordering a drink himself only. She shoves him to the side to try and pay when she held her card, the brunette shoving her back as the two fight to pay until the approved sound appears on the Eftpos machine.
"Who paid!?" they ask the girl at the front register and she shrugs.
"You did!" (y/n) groans out when she checked her phone, Aidan celebrating in triumph as he takes his drink and bucket along with the two tickets for the movie.
"In your face!"
"Let me pay for dinner at least."
"Nope!"
"Don't do this!" his friend whines, saying something about paying equally between everyone but he ignores her.
"Come on!" he grins behind his mask, pulling her along to the cinema and he takes her inside to their seats. They made it just in time for the ads to play, settling down comfortably with their buckets of popcorn. Soon enough, the lights turned off for the movie to start playing on the big screen and the two take their disguises off to enjoy the movie.
Aidan notices (y/n) leaning close to the armrest of his seat and he subtly moves into her as she snacks on her popcorn. He enjoys every little comment that escapes her, laughing with her at the hilarious but gruesome scenes or flinching at a brutal attack.
"Mans just got skewered." he bites back his laughter from her comment, glancing over to see how invested she was in the movie and he relaxes in her presence to enjoy it with her entirely.
"Right in the balls." he winces, the two of them whispering to each other as they watched the movie.
"Holy shit David's hot. Look at that man bun!" he raises a brow at his friend who gasps. "My friend was right..." he chuckles and lets her be, the movie continuing on until it ends in a sweet tone. "I didn't expect to love a Christmas movie so much but holy shit... I loved that one!" she exclaims, quickly putting her mask back on as the brunette was already in disguise. The two get up, chucking away the empty boxes as they head off to the car and talked about the movie.
"I thought it would be rated R but it's MA15+!" Aidan gasps.
"The ratings are decided if there is any sexual content in the picture."
"Huh, that makes sense." he nods, unlocking his car. "Where would you like to go for dinner?"
"I'm not sure. Is there someplace you won't get recognised?"
"We can take away."
"Are you ok with that?"
"Of course. We can go back to the hill at home to talk and eat if you want."
"That sounds really good actually. We can take a walk after?"
"Of course, we can (y/n)." he smiles at her warmly, opening the car door for her to get in and she thanks him before he gets into the driver seat. "You wanna try to drive?" he smirks at her and her eyes widen.
"You mad!? The rules here are different than back home! I'm going to kill someone!" he laughs softly at her panic, calming her down.
"I'm only joking (y/n)." she grumbles. "Are you down for chipotle?"
"I've never actually tried it before." Aidan gasps loudly, offended.
"You-not even once while you were here!?" (y/n) shakes her head. "That's where we're going!"
"Ok! Let's go to Chipotle!" the brunette snickers at her accent, butchering the name but he doesn't correct her, not wanting to hurt her feelings as he drives off to the nearest store. "Can we head inside? I want to check the menu. Or maybe you can suggest something for me?" she asks him the minute they find one.
"Yeah, we can head inside." he parks the car, making sure his disguise was still on and his friend puts on her mask too. They get out of the car and head inside the store.
Aidan was about to suggest what was good but noticed (y/n) squinting her eyes to try and read the menu that was so far away, finding it adorable as she crosses her arms in annoyance. "Yeah, I can't read that from this far back. The light is glaring me."
"Don't worry, I'll get something for the both of us." he grins, pushing her glasses back up her nose and she blinks at him in surprise.
"Uh, maybe something with a fork please? I don't want to eat with my hands today... and maybe something small. I'm not too hungry."
The brunette was surprised by the strange requests but at least it made it easier for him to decide on what to get. "No problem (y/n)." he winks at her, lining up to order and she sticks next to him. He couldn't help but think how adorable it was that she kept close to him like she might lose him in the crowd of the busy fast-food restaurant, holding her back tightly as she fidgets with her phone.
Aidan orders for the two of them, paying despite (y/n)'s complaints and he shushes her as he gets the ticket number for their order. It didn't take long for them to collect their food, the girl holding the bag in her arms as she quickly follows after the brunette back to the car. They get in and he drives them back home, holding her arm gently until the two of them get up to the hill safely. She puts down her jacket on the grass for the both of them to sit down on, putting the bag down.
"So what did we get?" (y/n) asks, taking her mask off as he takes off his disguise. Aidan explains what he got for her and she takes a spoonful. "Whoa! This is really good!" he smiles in relief and digs into his dinner, the two eating as they watched the stars twinkle above them. Their empty bowls were shoved into the bag as they went for a walk after they were finished.
They talked long through the night, realising how different they both were compared to each. Starkly different people with different interests and different lives but it made it that more interesting. Despite their complete differences, they found little commonalities they bonded over, talking about what they wanted to do in the future and what their hopes were.
Aidan glanced at (y/n) as she walked silently next to him, his heart jumping widely from the way her face lit up by the moonlight. She was smiling so lovely as she hummed and walked down the empty road, looking up at him to nod her head up and furrowing her brows in a way that meant 'what's wrong'. He just blinks at her as his cheeks warm up, seeing how her doe eyes sparkled when she smiled at him.
She's... wow...
"What's up? Do I have sauce on my face?"
"No!" he clears his throat, breaking out of his trance. "Just looking."
"Oh..." she looks away, flustered but keeps on walking until they got back home.
Aidan quickly unlocks the door and the two enter the house, heading up to their bedroom. He quickly stops (y/n) before she could go into her room, letting go of her shoulder quickly.
"I had fun today. I don't know when I last went to the cinema." he says, rubbing the back of his neck shyly.
"I'm glad! If you want to go anywhere I'm down for the ride." the brunette beams at her, nodding happily. "Let's get some sleep."
"Yeah, you need to wake up early for the next couple of days cause I'm taking you all around Seattle."
"I can't wait!"
