Aidan waited outside the large building, reading a book by the steps in front of the fountain. He jumps when he hears his name being whispered, turning around to what he thinks was (y/n) walking towards him.

"(y/n), is that you?" she was wearing a large black hoodie that went down to her knees, her hood up and her mask still on but she takes it off to reveal her smile. "You look very comfortable." he muses, smiling at how adorable she looked, like a giant teddy bear.

"I am. I'm glad that my shift is over." she shrugs. "So what's up?"

"Do you want to go eat anything? My treat."

"No! No, that's ok really."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, absolutely. So how was the convention?"

"Long but interesting. I'm guessing work wasn't the same?" he chuckles when she groans out in frustration.

"I can't complain since it's my job-"

"-but it's not what you signed up for since it doesn't match your degree."

"Yes! Exactly! I actually got tricked into working here. My uni was advertising the place who were looking for employees and I genuinely thought it was for events staff but no! It's for food and beverage! I get it I need experience to even step foot into working in events or with a team but goddamn, I didn't think it would be this hard!"

"What were you hoping to work on?"

"Concerts. I would love to organise events revolving around music and concerts." (y/n) sighs dreamily. "The atmosphere of it and the way everyone is so connected in the moment. I'm sentimental so I really cherish my memories. And with that, I want other people to also experience a major moment of coming together and celebrating. Concerts are just so vibrant and it just makes me speechless. Also, I get to work with artists and travel the world." Aidan bursts out laughing at the confession at the end and (y/n) laughs with him.

"We like someone who's truthful."

"Yep!"

I wonder.

"Actually, if you're up to it, I'm scoping out some venues for my next tour, might put Sydney on the list too. Would you like to join me and work with the team? Like get that experience and see what it's like?"

Please say yes...

"For real!?" she gasps and Aidan grins, feeling excitement bubble in his stomach. He didn't know why but he really wanted to spend more time with (y/n), wanted to get to know more about her.

"Won't be paid-"

"-I don't care! I'm in! I have a few venues in mind already, indoors or out!" he grins at her enthusiasm, knowing for sure that she was genuinely interested in working with a team.

"I knew you were the perfect Event Manager."

"To-be-Event Manager. I'm still working towards it." she corrects him with a smile.

"Is there an email-" Aidan gets cut off when (y/n) drops her backpack on the ground, sifting through it as she takes out a pad and pen.

She really is organised.

He was amused, seeing the perfect trait of an Event organiser in her already. "My email here. Ignore the shit writing, please. I know it's absolute chicken scratch." Aidan absolutely loved (y/n)'s sayings, it made him laugh in enjoyment. "I haven't used a pen in years since high school." his stomach flips as he sees her email on the paper she passes him, a way to talk to her.

"I'll send the details over tomorrow."

"Take your time. My new shifts for bidding aren't out yet so I'll be free any day."

"Perfect. I'll see you then?"

"Of course. I'll see you later Aidan." he smiles warmly as she waves goodbye, rushing off to run behind the building to catch the light rail. He waves when she turns around again, beaming at him and he slowly walks back, turning around to hold the paper securely in his hand.

I have her email...

"You don't have to come in with me baba."

"I have to use the bathroom." (y/n) rolls her eyes as she walked with her dad towards the arena in front of her. It was the day she was going to meet up with Aidan and he had been pacing in the back room waiting for her. He couldn't calm the buzzing excitement fluttering in his stomach, seeing her email letting him know that she was outside. She got directed to where she needed to wait by Aidan's father who welcomed her and her dad.

"Please wait here." (y/n) nods as he leaves the IT room, looking over the modules and sound equipment in awe. Her dad went out to go to the bathroom and she waited, sitting down on a couch while going through her notifications.

"(y/n)!" Aidan beams as he walked into the room, going to hug her but she stands up and waves shyly.

"Hey! How are you?"

"I'm doing good. What about you?"

"Alright. I'm excited to look around this place though."

"Soon." he grins at her and looks down to notice her phone on the couch. "Is that your phone case!?" he gasps at how bulky it was, grabbing it to look at it.

"Dad got it for me. It's for mountain climbers so if you drop the phone it shouldn't break." Aidan grins mischievously and (y/n) narrows her eyes at him.

"Let's test it."

"No!" she gasps out, trying to grab him but he laughs as he runs around with her phone, dodging her around the large room while he went through her phone. "Aidan! Give me my phone!" he jumps up on the couch, jumping to the next one and she does the same. He sees her Snapchat and memorises her username before the door to the room suddenly opens. The two stopped short and (y/n) sees her dad look at her strangely as she was grabbing onto Aidan. She quickly steps away from him with a lot of distance and he blinks at her in confusion.

"Who's this?" he gulps at how stern the man sounded.

"This is my friend baba. The one that invited me today. Aidan, my dad."

Oh shit!

Aidan stands up straight, fixing his appearance as he went to shake (y/n)'s dad's hand. "It's nice to meet you sir." he doesn't say anything, staring down his daughter and the brunette immediately feels guilty as he steps back to stand next to her and passes her phone back to her.

"This is work baba. I meet clients like this. Plus his parents are here so I'll be fine." (y/n) crosses her arms and her dad softens.

"Alright. I'm going home since it's almost time to pray. Call me and I'll come to pick you up." he walks over to her and gently pulls her head in against his chest to kiss the top of it.

"I will. Thank you!" her dad walks off and Aidan lets out a breath he didn't know he was holding. "Sorry about that. He's Muslim so he can't stay. He has to go to the mosque."

Oh!

Aidan was intrigued by this new piece of information about (y/n). "Are you-"

"-oh no!" she quickly cuts him off. "I'm an atheist." he furrows his brow at the stark difference.

"So you don't believe-"

"-no, not really. For me, it's more like I have to see it to believe it. I can't put my faith in something that I can't see." she shrugs. "What about you?"

Aidan was surprised that (y/n) didn't know anything about him. Usually, his fans knew a lot about him, his hobbies and his average life but this was refreshing in a way. "I'm Jewish."

"Oh! Your parents too?" he nods, the two moving to sit down on the couch to talk.

"Do you have any siblings?" he asks and she nods.

"A younger sister actually. Four years difference. So yeah, she's going to be in her final year of high school next year." (y/n) quickly shows Aidan her sister and he snickers seeing the height difference. "I hate how she's so much taller than me. It's always the younger sibling." she scoffs.

"You really are short."

"Oi! don't need to rub it in! You're like a few centimetres taller than me!" she chuckles and he smiles, leaning closer as she shows him her family. "And this is my mum."

"You look a lot like her."

"Yeah, we get mistaken from the back sometimes. Especially by my sister." Aidan listens intently to (y/n) as she talks about her family, how her parents are separated and listening to the drama that caused the divorce. His heart hurt hearing how she had to mature and grow up at such a young age, now realising why she wanted to work so much due to her family's financial problems but it doesn't stop her from living her life and he was glad.

Even now she was extremely mature for her age. "So you live with your mum?" she nods.

"Dad is two floors above us so he's close."

"Your dad scares me." Aidan shudders and his stomach flips as (y/n) giggles.

"He's scary to everyone. He's like that."

"Do you have a good relationship with him?"

"No." the brunette shudders from her cold answer. "It's complicated." he knows not to push any further, moving to talk about how his parents met.

The two spent the next hour or so talking and gossiping about normal everyday topics, about life in general. Aidan felt relieved, almost weightless that (y/n) was more interested in the ordinary details of his life and not the glitz and glamour of being an actor. It made him feel normal and he smiles warmly at her while she went on to talk about some of the mischiefs she and her friends caused back in high school.

He really loved this.

The door opens and the two look up to see Aidan's father peek in. "You guys ready to explore and meet the team?"

(y/n) looks to Aidan who gets lost in her eyes before blinking and nodding quickly. "Yeah, let's go." he gets up, holding his hand out for her to hold and she stares at it with wide eyes. She felt awkward but grabbed his hand anyway, letting him pull her up from the couch. She grew flustered and took her hand away to grab her phone, following the brunette who held back his disappointment. He looks behind his shoulder to see her look around in awe, her boots thumping against the floor softly as she adjusted her appearance to look presentable in her formal but casual clothing.

She looks nice already.

Aidan clears his throat at the sudden thought, looking away from her as he leads her to the empty arena. "Holy shit..." he hears (y/n) whisper behind him when she steps foot into the empty arena, looking around in awe. "This is awesome!" he laughs in amusement at how she found an empty arena fascinating but lets her run down the stairs, weaving between chairs until she got down to the stage. "Look how massive this is!" she yells out, her voice echoing and he grins at how adorable she was just running around the stage.

He leans against the railing, watching with a big smile as (y/n) had the time of her life.
