💫💫Information💫💫

Hi, and welcome to Dreamland Guilds! Welcome to Dreamland's sixth book club--seventh if we're counting the seasonal ONC club ;D

I'm Laine (avadel) and will be functioning as the head admin of Guilds, assisted by the lovely admins AtheinaVismark, DrizzleTheWolf, and anonymous_audrey. We will be checking assignments, as well as answering any questions you may have. You are not required to follow any of us, but it would be very kind of you.

Now, let's get down to business, shall we?

◦ This club is open to all books except the following: Random, Non-Fiction, Poetry, Non-English books, books written with generative AI prose, and books that do not comply with Wattpad Guidelines.

◦ You may request to avoid certain genres or content types, but it may not always be possible for us to meet these requests. There are options which allow you to to change Guilds of your own volition, but otherwise we'll be switching Guild members around as little as possible.

◦ You may enter one book, but should your Guild members finish that book, you can give or deny permission for them to read another of your books. If they are out of content to read, you will be moved to a new Guild in the following month. Please let us know before a member is entirely out of content (ideally as soon as your last available chapter is read) so that the transfer can be planned in a timely manner. You can swap your book using the Book Swap Form, but it will only be changed in the first week updates, so please submit them before then.

◦ Please be specific in your form. If you would like to avoid books with a Mature rating, but violence is alright, please state so. If your book includes tropes like enemies to lovers, is anime inspired, or has an age gap romance--things some readers will love and others will want to pass on, state them in your book's content type.

◦  Be kind and encouraging, whether it be the admins or to the other members. You can critique someone in a kind but stern manner. You don't have to agree with a critique to accept another's view. This is about building each other up and becoming better writers and making friends. Please don't ruin that.

◦ It is required that you join the Dreamland Discord. Not only does it make it easier to reach the admins and is where we'll poke you with reminders to do assignments and stuff, but it also is the only way we have to communicate with you privately about information like strikes.

◦ You MUST add both this book and Dreamland Community to your library. It's for your own good. The Community book has basically any important announcements and I don't want your excuse to be "I didn't see this-or-that because it wasn't in my library."

COMMUNICATE!!! If you have to leave, need an extension, have an issue, anything. We are at your service with our swords, our bows, our muffin pans. If you don't get a reply from the account within 24 hours, PM the admins.

◦ There is a password you will put on the form. It can be found in the FAQ section, so read it after this chapter.

◦ Each assignment lasts for one week, beginning on the first day of each month and due on that day for the rest of that month at 12 PM EST. For example, if the first day of January is a Monday, assignments will be due on Mondays. The Guild month ends on the 29th of each month at 12 PM EST.

◦ You will read a minimum of 2 chapters per week. One chapter from the Book of the Week and one chapter from a Guild member. By the end of the month, you will need to have read at least 1 one chapter for each of your Guild members. Non-story chapters (Author's Notes, Blurbs, Aesthetics, etc.) do not count. Prologues do. If they split chapters up (Chapter 1.1, Chapter 1.2), each chapter part counts as one chapter.

◦ The comments you give on each chapter must be extensive and constructive. To ensure this happens, you must leave 5+ inline comments and a 5+ sentence outline comment per chapter. Please make sure that your comments reach this amount or we will have you fix them. We do check. Don't try to skate by with emojis or "I like this." "Nice job." We will ask you to start adding reasoning *gasp* to your comments such as, "I like this because..." "Nice job with..."

◦ The end of the FAQ section recommends how to be an effective commenter and reach these requirements. To ensure you read it, the password to enter the club is there. Make sure to read the entire thing.

◦ If you are a new member, you will have a first-time trial spanning two weeks. The first week, you will be assigned to an admin and their book in a section called First Week Trial. You must read and comment on one of their chapters, fulfilling the comment requirements. The admin you are given will provide feedback about your commenting if they believe it necessary to make sure it is on par with what we expect from this club. The following week, you will be assigned on trial to a Guild and must fulfill a weekly assignment as if you were a member of that Guild, reading 1 Guild member chapter and 1 BotW chapter. If you pass, you will be inducted as an official member of a Guild--you can choose to stay as a member of the Guild you did your trial with, or you can opt to be assigned to another Guild of the admins' choice.

◦  This requires a lot of work, so if you know you cannot make it or think it is too much, please don't waste the admins' or your Guild members' time by signing up.

◦ Your Guild will consist of up to three other members besides you. After reading the minimum of 1 chapter for each Guild member, you can read as much of their books as you'd like which will earn you points. Note that you are not allowed to read for another Guild's members unless they hold a special title such as Book of the Week.

◦ Guilds compete against each other to become the victorious Guild, which will have its members' books featured as Books of the Week in the following month. They accomplish this by accumulating the most points. If a member switches Guilds mid-month, their points transfer over with them. They will still be featured if their previous Guild holds the victory title from the month before. A member who joins a Guild while it holds the victory title due to points from the prior month will not be featured for the current month. (i.e. you must have contributed to the victory to be featured)

◦ Every Guild will have a banner with their Guild name on it. Members are encouraged to chat with each other on the inline with their banner if they wish.

Guild Member (100 points): A Guild member is someone in your Guild. You are required to read and comment on one chapter by a Guild member per week and one chapter from each of your Guild members per month (the only exception to the second rule is if your Guild member has only been present for a single week). Any chapters beyond the minimum will earn you 100 points per chapter.

Admin (100 points): Admins are the exception to the rule that you may not read for members of other Guilds. You may read for an Admin at any time, but their chapters are worth the same as a regular Guild member. Note: Admin chapters do not count toward the Guild member requirement unless the Admin is in your Guild.

Book of the Week (200 points): The Book of the Week will be rotated, well, weekly. It will cycle through the members of the Guild holding the victory title for having the most points total the previous month. After achieving the 1 chapter weekly requirement, extra chapters will be worth 200 points each. If somehow, you have a strike while your Guild holds the victory title, you will be slotted to be featured later. You must clear your strikes by then to become BotW.

Note: If the victorious Guild has a single member, they will be Book of the Week the entire month. If two members, they will each have two alternating weeks. If three, one week each, and the last week will allow members to choose to read for any of the three. If four, each will have one week.

Slayer (250 points): The individual with the most points at the end of the month will win the title of Slayer. The Slayer can be read for by any Guild member for the entire month and each chapter will be worth 250 points. However, if a member has a strike, they cannot become the Slayer. The title of Slayer will go to the next member with the most points who does not have a strike.

Silvertongue (250 points): The individual with the most helpful comments at the end of the month will win the title of Silvertongue. This title will be given by the admins and cannot be won by the admins. The Silvertongue is rewarded on the basis of quality over quantity. The Silvertongue can be read for by any Guild member for the entire month and each chapter will be worth 250 points. However, if a member has a strike, they cannot become the Silvertongue. The title of Silvertongue will go to the next member with the most constructive comments who does not have a strike.

Silvertongue Slayer (500 points): If a member meets both the criteria above in the same month, they will win the title of Silvertongue Slayer. The Silvertongue Slayer can be read for by any Guild member for the entire month and each chapter will be worth 500 points.

Note: Depending on the number of members, the titles of victorious Guild, Slayer, and Silvertongue will not be allowed to be held for consecutive months. A month must elapse between the guilds and members holding these titles. This rule is subject to change in the future. If the admins deem that no individual has earned the titles, they will not be given. (For example, if those who read extra chapters have strikes and everyone else has only read the minimum requirement.)

Dragon (250 points): The Dragon is a title that can be traded for using Guild Coins (For info: see Coins). The Dragon can be read for by any Guild member for the entire month and each chapter will be worth 250 points. However, if a member has a strike, they cannot become the Dragon.

◦ To report being done, you will go to your personal member section and write your assignment report in the following format.

◦ The member section will look like what is shown below:

---------Guild Member: MiyaHikari | Iron Orchids
Book: Facing Fear
Status: Slayer
Coins:
Points:
Reports:

◦ So you will go to the place where it is your profile, and you will report inline where it says reports in the following format:

Facing Fear by MiyaHikari (Yes, please tag the member)
Slayer
Read chapters 0 & 1

◦ You can wait until after you have read multiple chapters to report. However, be sure to report on the newest chapter and to do it before the deadline. REPORTS NOT DONE ON THE CURRENT CHAPTER WILL BE IGNORED!

◦ You must report having read a chapter in the same assignment of reading it. If you read extra BotW chapters and forget to report, the BotW may cycle and you'll have missed your chance at points.

◦ All points will reset monthly, but for every 1000 points a member has at the end of the month, they will earn a Coin. No rounding up; it's gotta be flush. 900 points = 0 Coins. Guild Coins can be used to purchase privileges and are saved even if a member leaves and returns. (Exception: see Strikes and Probation) Every member will join the club with 1 Coin in their pocket as a welcoming gift.

Trip to the Country x1 or x2(1-2 Coins): Member can go on a one week break and have their seat in their Guild saved until their return. (Can stack a max of two Coins. Must have a minimum of two weeks activity between use of coins. Four weeks of activity for two coins.)

Paying Bail (5 Coins): Wipe the strike slate clean. While a member has strikes, they cannot be granted the title of BotW, Silvertongue, Slayer, or Dragon.

Deserter (5 Coins): Transfer to an empty Guild. The member can specify if they will be open to new members or not for the first month. After that it's free real estate. Guild transfers take place at the beginning of the month (so please request prior to the .1 assignment) and not mid-month.

Moving up in the World (10 Coins): Transfer to a Guild of the member's choice. If the chosen Guild is full, that will need to select a member that will be moved out unless someone is already slotted for transfer. Member can choose to transfer to an empty Guild if they wish. Guild transfers take place at the beginning of the month (so please request prior to the .1 assignment) and not mid-month.

For the Aesthetic (10 Coins): Rename your Guild and be given a new banner. New name may not include the same words as other Guilds and must be a reasonable request. Guild name will be locked to changes for three months. Members may pool their coins for this purchase. Consult with your Guild on your banner before submitting your payment at the Guild Shop banner. If you would like to make your own art banner after obtaining approval, please use the dimensions 736 x 230.

Golden Hoard (15 Coins): Purchase the Dragon title for a month (please request prior to the .1 assignment). The Dragon is a featured title worth 250 points. You may only trade in for the Dragon title if you have not been featured as the Slayer or Silvertongue in the past two months. You may be the Dragon for consecutive months (quite the gold hoarder, aren't you?) There may only be one Dragon at a time, but the title can be reserved for a coming month. First come, first served. If for whatever reason, you are unable to be the Dragon for the reserved month, your Coins will be refunded.

Bribery and Betrayal (X Coins): With the approval of all members, a Guild with an open seat can offer a member of another Guild X amount of Coins to transfer to their Guild. This is the only shop option where a member can choose to be transferred mid-month. The Guild member who is being bribed can refuse or accept the offer. If they accept, they will be transferred in the next update, the coins offered will be added to their balance, and they cannot take another bribe for three months.
For ideal transparency and efficiency, discuss bribes with your Guild members at your Guild banner. Please gain every member's approval and lock in your bribe amounts (how much each member is willing to contribute) before offering the bribe. You can make the offer by tagging the prospective traitor at the Guild Shop banner. If you agree to a bribe, please tag an admin to bear witness to the transaction. If there is no response within three days, the bribe is considered to be declined.

IMPORTANT!!! Do not trade in coins here. You must submit your trades at the Guild Shop banner in the most recent assignment update.

◦ Extensions must be requested prior to deadline and last one update during which the current assignment must also be completed. The extension assignment should be reported at the bottom of the chapter in the section labeled Unfinished. You can request an extension in your report section, through dm, or in the discord channel #club-concerns.

◦ Due to the team nature of the club, it is not possible to take long-term hiatuses. Hiatuses may only last two weeks maximum with the use of Coins. Any longer will require leaving the club and signing up again. Using Coins, a member may choose which Guild they are assigned to upon re-entry; otherwise it will be where the admins deems necessary. If the current assignment is not complete prior to requesting hiatus, you will have a ☆ by your name.

◦ Strikes mean a failure to complete your assignment either on time or at all. If you get three strikes, you will be kicked from the club and lose your Guild Coins.

◦ When you miss an assignment, you will be listed under the Unfinished section and will need to complete that assignment as well as the current one. Report the past assignment in the Unfinished section.

◦ The first time you accumulate three strikes, you can rejoin the club after two months. This is the probation period. You must complete missed assignments during this time if you wish to sign up again. However, when you return from probation, you will do so with two fully stacked strikes, so please only do so if you really have the time, because the second time you hit probation, you're perma-banned from the club.

◦ There are a few ways to get a strike:

*Not completing your assignment before 12 PM EST

*Going overtime on hiatus and not completing a previous assignment

*Going more than a week without completing an extension

*Failing to read for one of your Guild members during a month (if you both have been present in the Guild for two weeks or more)

◦ Strikes fade over time. After four Dreams doing your assignments on time, they'll fade.

◦ While having a strike, you will not be able to hold the title of BotW, Slayer, Silvertongue, or Dragon.

◦ We will send you a PM to let you know when you get a strike. The message will look like this: We are contacting you to let you know that you have 4X due to missing Dream 50. A translation guide is available in the FAQ.

◦ To encourage having assignments in on time or communicating to ask for extensions if you can't, for every month that a member does not get a strike, they will earn 100 points to their strike streak. These points can stack and will be added to the member's monthly total and their Guild's total. One year without strikes? That's 7,800 extra points over the course of those twelve months. Strikes must have faded or been wiped by the end of the month for the strike streak to begin. A strike streak will be kept if a member leaves and returns as long as they don't incur a strike doing so.

◦ Note that if a member goes missing (e.g. requests an extension, then doesn't complete the extension or the current week's work and doesn't communicate with us about it), they will be removed from the club with two strikes. However, their coins will stay intact, and they may rejoin as soon as they feel like they are ready.

Questions: If you have any questions that are not answered in our FAQ, be sure to ask!

◦  Other Clubs: If this club doesn't seem to be for you, that's fine! We have five other clubs available that you may enjoy :D
