After class, I went to the Auto Repair shop, which was where I worked. I worked a few hours until my shift was over, and I left immediately.
I got home and went down to the basement, and found my old bass, I decided to start playing again. It was hidden behind some of my father's prized possesions. I looked around for the amp that I made awhile back and hauled everything upstairs. I nudged my room's door open with my foot due to my hands being full. I gently placed my bass at the foot of my bed and plugged in my amp. I hooked everything else up and just stared at the thing.
It has been so long since I last played this hunk of junk. But I was told that I was decent, so I might as well try. I picked up the bass guitar and strummed a string. Sound of the amp bursted through the air and into my ears. The last time I heard that sound was when I was teaching my dad to play.
---
He playfully asked if I could teach him a few things, and I went along with it. I held the guitar out for him to take and he gladly accepted it. He held it the wrong way at first, so I cautiously flipped it around. He laughed at his mistake but regained himself.
"What should I do?" My father asked as he held the guitar in a strange way.
"Try strumming the first string." I suggested.
My dad took the hand the was supported the neck and strummed the string. I sighed impatiently and he just laughed.
"I had the same reaction when I was teaching you to talk." He commented. I laughed outloud, and Father laughed with me.
Father successfully strummed the first string the correct way and we cheered in unison.
"One day, I'll be as good as you." He boasted.
I remember wearing the biggest smile ever that day.
So why wasn't I now?
Tears streamed down my eyes as I recalled the joyous memory. I missed my father so much. This was a bad idea.
I undid everything in a fit of rage and sadness. After it all, I felt silly for letting my emotions get the best of me. I decided I needed a bit of sleep, so I got ready for bed. I hopped on my matress and snuggled under my comforter. I flicked the switch of my lampshade off and fell into a deep slumber.

I was in the presence of a large house. It was old and shabby, but in a fancy vintage way. Colorful flowers covered the window sill from inside, which could be seen through the window. A cat peered at me from inside and I nervously stared back. Snow piled at the end of the sidewalk, and the path towards the door was cleared. There stood a man with a large shovel trying to place it back in his shed.
"John?" The man asked as he noticed me just standing there. I smiled and waved at him. It was Freddie.
"John! You scared me yesterday, you jerk. You're not really a jerk, but I was seriously worried." He exasperated. He threw his shovel in the shed and slid down the icy path towards me.
"You must be freezing, come inside." He offered. I obilgied and followed him into his home. It was extremely warm, and it smelled of biscuits. A mug of hot chocolate was placed on the counter. Freddie picked up the delectable drink and passed it to me.
"I was going to drink this, but I'm not a fan of hot chocolate. It was just a silly attempt to get in season." Freddie chuckled, and I smiled. I took a small sip and sighed.
"It's delicious, thank you." I complemented. I watched as a cat pranced around the room, continuing to glare at me.
"So..." Freddie started to say. "What happened y'know, yesterday? You just disappeared! Are you a magician?" I laughed outloud. I couldn't tell if he
was serious, so I laughed even harder.
"I don't know." I simply stated after my laughing fit.
Freddie eyed me sucspiciously, but didn't question me.
"Where are you from? He asked.
I simply shrugged my shoulders and repeated my last response.
I noticed the strange expression on his face and sighed.
"Look, if I ever happen to disappear suddenly again, don't worry. I don't exactly know what's happening, but I know I'll be back. And we can hang out." I assured. He smiled,
though it wasn't convincing.
"Does that make us friends?" Freddie asked, his voice laced with desperation.
"Of course! Who would turn down a guy who gave them hot chocolate." I joked and Freddie laughed with me.
The scene around me began to swirl and I knew that I was waking up. This time, I was calm. I glanced at Freddie who noticed me leaving, he looked scared. I mouthed the word, "relax" and he did just that. He smiled and waved goodbye.
The colors around me swirled into a pool of mess, and I woke up. But not before the color teal flashed for a few seconds.
I yanked my notebook from underneath my matress and wrote down everything tha that happened.
